Definitely hear it. It sounds like a recording flaw or something...but then I don't know much about those...I just don't know what else it could be.

Analyzing the spectrum...ah yes, I see...

That's what you're hearing, and as you can see, it's not uniform with how a song actually looks...so pretty sure it shouldn't be there...probably a left over where they connected the recorded tracks.

And honestly, that's like, a pretty bad mistake...it's so prominent in the spectrum because it's so loud.

I hate the beep in rainy day! lol I couldn't figure out what that was for the longest time...I thought it was real, it was driving me insane lol

I really hate the background grinding noise in Vogue...but Im sure that is intentional...

ohsixthirty 9th October 2010 05:50 AM

^wow. i definitely do think this noise is a mistake. do you think its possible for someone to actually edit it out somehow???

which drives me crazy because i love VR so much. :( and to think that that David guy said he listened to this song every day and didn't notice that glitch. its weird.

and i'm still waiting to hear where that beep is in rainy day. i listened and didn't hear it.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 9th October 2010 06:05 AM

ohh thanks now I'm gonna be annoyed by that noise for the rest of my life

jks XD

Ohh well... I hope they edit it for the album?

emi♡ 9th October 2010 06:06 AM

yeah okay, so like, I was listening to it again, and now I think it's just another little percussion track they added in at this part.

The first time I listened to it, I thought I had heard it more than once, but then I thought I was just confusing it for the actual track layer....

but...I was going through the spectrum again to see if I could take it out, and it seems that it is happening on beat, in a pattern with another sound or two, so, I'm pretty sure it's just another percussion layer, and that's the way it's supposed to sound lol

ohsixthirty 9th October 2010 06:28 AM

Hrm...I need to listen with headphones and see if I hear it elsewhere. Even if it is supposed to be there, I still think it sounds awkward.

emi♡ 9th October 2010 06:34 AM

^should happen again around 4:09, and 4:13, along with some little wood clicks or something that happen in between lol

I dont know if it's elsewhere in the song though.

love in music 9th October 2010 06:56 AM

hmm so I listened with headphones really loudly and I guess I hear it, but then I hear it again in some other parts after that. it isn't distracting to me though, it just kinda blends in with everything so I'd only really notice if I listened closely for it.

oh and about rainy day.. that's only in the PV version because there's a car in the PV..

waterballoon 9th October 2010 07:10 AM

that sound is either

a) a slip up from the drummer
or
b) a special stick (brush stick) that u use on the drums for JAZZ music

now Virgin Road is not jazz so it's a slip up.. and what annoys me is that

1) they didn't even notice it & just let it on the single... shows how rushed the whole single is
2) the fact that it's REPEATED shows a major copy and pasting of sound in the recording... that's expected from studio recording maybe, but still.

PEARL 9th October 2010 07:33 AM

i didn't hear anything lol..think my ear gone crappy~

eh I'm really skeptical about it being a mess up now...

because I'm listening to it while watching the spectrum, and it's like...there's so many little sounds on this layer, that if these really are pasted together parts...I mean, that means they're pasting it together like every few seconds...

...and I just don't even see that happening for a section that doesn't even have vocals...unless their symphonic band is just that bad...but I sincerely doubt it.

It's the arrangement. He added in an extra top percussion layer. Very subtle, but obviously noticeable, especially if you have any type of decent equipment.

And the little clicking sounds in between are really noticeable in the rest of the song...they just lowered them down here, and added this "noise" at the beginning of the phrase.

hmm if that's so then it's probably part of the arrangement/composition... it's just pretty weird how these extra sounds clash with the main music that they seem like a mistake lol; I understand clash chords but this is like another story :laugh

BlackSilence 9th October 2010 08:32 AM

LOL, I hadn't heard anything before now I hear that sound too, but differently than some of you it doesn't annoy me at all, I can hear something simmilar through almost the whole song from drums, I think it has to be there :P

I've heard songs from other artists that used one single sound just once in the song and that sound HAD to be there. I think those things actually make the song more interesting melodicaly/instrumentaly. I honestly love annalysing those things, and find them in the song :P

GREENdays 9th October 2010 10:29 AM

Whilst listening to this song on my laptop, I used to heart this mysterious noise and for some reason would assume that it was the noise that facebook chat makes when you receieve a message, so everytime I heard it I would check facebook - no messages.
Now I've just realised it's actually in Virgin Road, hah!

mirrorcleworld 9th October 2010 10:31 AM

hmm.. never really noticed that until now...
it actually ruined the song for me for a few days :P

i really don't mind it that much now...

wildconnetta 9th October 2010 10:31 AM

I love that noise, hahaha

anayufan 9th October 2010 11:44 AM

well i don't really mind it and i think it was actually intentional since all of the brush noises seem to fall on a beat. BUT if there are those that are really distracted i edited them out :)

download these for noise free Virgin Road! xD

I personally think the problem is in how you guys messed with your sound master controls. I put this song loud in several of my devices, and while I can detect what you guys mean, it still is barely noticeable even in louder volumes and it really doesn't sound that much out of place. It flows well imo.

kiseki89 10th October 2010 03:41 PM

There is a noise? Didn't hear it.

Edit: there is a weird sound!

Off topic- Anyway listening to it on my local radio station and they are playing the pv ripped version of virgin road(there's e machine gun sound etc) Can they do that? Play e ripped and not e original cd version?

Tom Punks 10th October 2010 04:47 PM

I hear a weird noise in Virgin Road at 3:15. It sounds like... sparkly. I dunno. It definitely sounds like it's not supposed to be there though. >:|

mobius 10th October 2010 05:00 PM

I never notice this noise until I've played it few times now.

It guess it flows well that I barely notice it.
