Ayu didn't even know how to say to a fan in London, that "she has his gift displayed in her room", so Stan had to translate it for her.

That was almost a year ago. It's obvious if she can communicate with Mannie well enough to have a relationship with him, she's doing just fine.

I seriously don't know why some of you guys are really hinging on this. O_o All the world's a neurotic judge.

Ayu knows English well enough to hold a conversation. Her lexical grasp may be lacking, but all that means is now she gets to practice, a lot.

I don't know how people think she barely knows English when she communicates fine with English fans on twitter. Sure, she's not fluent, but she obviously has a good grasp on the language considering the colloquialisms she uses.

I'm not a english native speaker, and I make a lot of grammar mistakes although I study english since elementary school lol. Written communication is waaay moooore simple than verbal communication. You can take your time to think, while during conversation you can't. But when you keep practicing, you'll be fluent in both type of communications. And that's what Ayu will do :yes as other said, Ayu knows english well. Would be more diffucult for Mannie learn japanese rather than Ayu learn english imo.

Are we still discussing the supposed language barrier thing?
