I think a lot of people are amazing vocalists...it's impossible for me to choose just one.

Chris Martin (Coldplay)
Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Elton John
Madonna (at one time lol)
Christina Aguilara
Lady Gaga (yes I think her voice is good lol)
Beyonce
Florence Welch (Florence and the Machine)
Adele
Mariah Carey
Shania Twain
Alan Dawa Dolma (most of the time she sings in her average voice, but when she shows off her mountainous vocals...it's breathtaking)
Utada Hikaru
Emi Hinouchi
ayaka Lida (such a beautiful voice)
Hyorin (SISTAR)

That's all I can think of at the moment...but I know there's more :think.

Sumi Jo, world-renowned Soprano and arguably the best of this century. She is most well-known for her role as the queen of the night but her greatest work is Ave Maria (Caccini). Take a look on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjZ8fBGtMaI

Andrea Bocelli (best male vocalist I've ever heard. Period.)
Stevie Wonder

James Brown
Freddie Mercury
Jay Kay (lead singer of "Jamiroquai")
Sisqo (main vocalist of RnB group "Dru Hill")
K-Ci & JoJo
Howard Jones (front vocalist of "Killwitch Engage")
~~~~~
Mariah Carey
Whitney Houston (the voice of my generation)
Aretha Franklin
Patti LaBelle
Christina Aguilera
Toni Braxton
Celine Dion
Sarah McLachlan
Mary J. Blige
Amy Winehouse (R.I.P. :()
Amy Lee (former front vocalist of "Evanescence")
^ hehe Nah. :P
I totally forgot about Andrea Bocelli! And Stevie Wonder. :dumbfound What a moron.
Andrea Bocelli! That reminds me of my love for Luciano Pavarotti. He had my favorite voice in opera, ever. Him singing Caro Mio Ben...omg. I don't know a word of italian, but that is just beautiful.
She can go vibrato, she can go high, low, she can go whispery (is that a technical term? lol, sounds like I don't know wth I'm talking about xD) Again, singing styles may not appeal to everyone, but you can't deny she's an amazing singer.
She does sound really good! I'm not familiar with that kind of music or the language but I'm going to look for more songs from her!
I either like big, strong, powerful voices, or soft, light but still strong voices
So:
Alicia Keys
alan
ayaka
Baek Ji Young
Chihiro Onitsuka
KOKIA
Beyonce
A-mei Chang
Adele
Also this group always has four or five of the prettiest voices ever. They've changed group members a couple of times and this is the most recent line-up:
And one more. I've only been watching Glee for a little while, by my god Chris Colfer's voice is just amazing. Almost every solo performance he gives is enough to leave me in tears. This one especially:
Def miss old Whitney Houston.
Oh and if we're talking about older people...I also love Connie Francis, from the 50s-60s.
