Stupid Avex.

ayumisrael 19th September 2011 01:52 PM

avex is not going to do anything to her so don't worry.
when kuu had her scandal they stopped her activities but ayu's rehearsing for the last segments of PoM tour these very days.
It's just a lie of the news.

panda♥ 19th September 2011 01:58 PM

i really, really doubt Avex will "punish her harshly" for being SICK and cancelling for her own well being. i think the only reason this is made out to be a big deal by tabloids, is because she was overseas when she cancelled and was sick, so i guess people are assuming she didn't want to come back and was making excuses?

how can a singer properly SING with an inflamed throat? if she were to have not cancelled and made it to the show while being sick, there would be an uproar about how bad she sounded. :shrug

IMO, Koda's activities stopping was more a move to preserve her image than a punishment...

It wouldn't be very good for her, and for the brands she was promoting, to see her everywhere when everyone wanted her head...

Jason 19th September 2011 08:28 PM

I stopped taking it seriously when I read Avex said she would be dealt with "harshly". As much as I despise that company they wouldn't be stupid to make such a public statement about something like this.

And Ayu was "insulted" that AKB48 took her spot? :P This is why I hate tabloid news. It's an insult to journalism everywhere -_-

Hamasaki discreetly returns to Japan

ENTERTAINMENT SEP. 20, 2011 - 05:15AM JST ( 3 )TOKYO —
Singer Ayumi Hamasaki, 32, who was conspicuously absent from the 25th anniversary special of TV Asahi’s “Music Station” last Friday night, discreetly returned to Japan from Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Hamasaki disembarked from the plane wearing dark shades and a large surgical mask over her face. According to a spokesperson for Hamasaki, a calendar shoot that the singer was scheduled to appear in was delayed in LA, and she apparently contracted laryngitis shortly after that, forcing her agent to reschedule her return flight and cancel her appearance on the special.

Why are all of these articles so misinforming?

If you're gonna publish something, at least publish something that has some semblance to the truth.

It's talking about what the tabloids are talking about, and brings up the issue that actually Ayu was against AKB48 performing on MSTE, and that Avex released a comment like "If we are not strict with the punishment for this issue, then it's not good for her juniors and other artists." Etc. etc.

I'm not surprised at all really. The Japanese are really this anal. Not even just where celebrities are concerned, I mean in general. If you miss a commitment due to illness, you better be on your death bed here. Also, I can see where suspicions would come from as to why she wasn't able to get a flight because even I'm not sure why Avex couldn't have just hired a private jet.

Also, about these being "tabloids". The articles that they showed in that TV broadcast are from major newspapers. Major newspapers in Japan commonly report this kind of stuff.

TeamAyu2004 20th September 2011 02:19 AM

^... I find that pretty interesting in general they way the Japanese news acts... If you thought American news reports and what not were bad, just look at them.

My history Professor (of Japanese history) showed us all these clips and newspaper articles about the way the press and tabloids treat people and I find it amazing... I don't know why anyone would want to be famous over in Japan... the hassle... :no

oh okay. I honestly wasn't sure, because I know that the Japanese act this way about missing appointments and performances and stuff, and this is certainly not the first time Ayu has gotten a lot of bad press for missing something, but I didn't know like, the real source, if it was just like a tabloid, or if it was being widely reported or whatever. So thanks for clearing that up

And you know, people aren't going to like this, but this is the culture. And it does look bad on her, and Avex, to them.

It is a bit odd she couldn't get one. Perhaps Avex was angry at her for some reason. Maybe she hadn't contacted them? idk. I haven't been following her news.

I think the AKB48 comments are all really unnecessary though.

Andrenekoi 20th September 2011 02:40 AM

^Yeah, when Namie's mom was murdered, for example, there where some pretty disgusting news about it... Cruel, even... So, not surprised some vehicles are blowing this out of proportion, even worst that some media have a strong dislike for her (Japan Times, for example, acts as Ayu is the symbol for everything they dislike about Japan)... Still, doubt will be harshly punished or banned... And even if that's happen.... There's other shows on japanese tv

But actually tabloid doesn't have the bad meaning it does in America. Most newspapers in Japan that report on celebrity news can be called tabloids because of their format.

Regardless, I was wondering about the private jet too. She had one when she went to Las Vegas, so... what happened?

And what is she doing now? No twitter, nothing... what's going on?

Andrenekoi 20th September 2011 03:09 AM

If fashion week really was one of the problems, considering the amount of people that needed to be in NY for the event, maybe there where no way to rent a private jet... She should consider buying one at this point of her career

cosmicfirefly 20th September 2011 03:48 AM

They tried too hard to make her look bad here. Did they seriously expect her to sing with laryngitis?

emi♡ 20th September 2011 05:00 AM

^she could have lip-synced :shrug I don't think it's THAT big a deal to the producers...if other artists do it...why not?

Misa-chan 20th September 2011 05:48 AM

I felt that the main problem was that she did not cancel in time. Up to the day itself, she kept insisting that she's trying her best to get back, so there was no news sent back about any cancellation till the afternoon of the day itself. We have to remember that all the talk about her being sick, fainting and not being able to come back were all written on TA, so the first time the rest of the world had known about the whole issue was on the afternoon right before MSta, when she released the cancellation apology straight. So I can see why non-TA people and the media jumped to whatever conclusions they made.

I don't think she would have allowed herself to do that, since she's been going on about wanting to perform beloved for days and days before the show.

Also, she had written on TA that she caught a cold and potentially a sore throat. If she did lip-sync and sung perfectly, won't that cause more chaos among fans since we knew that she couldn't have sung well?

truehappiness 20th September 2011 05:50 AM

When she was in Vegas, I think Max was also with her during that trip?

Right now she's working on POWER of MUSIC stuff, I think? I guess she's probably putting everything into the 9/30 show for now.
