But it's pretty standard to charge for streaming concerts now.

Examples please, I'm curious..

truehappiness 18th October 2011 05:14 AM

It'll be tomorrow night (aka early Wednesday morning) for most people in the states. For those of you in China/Asia, it will definitely be tomorrow, lol.

It's very standard actually. I know that in sports for an example it's very common. Last night the latest my boy-o payed in 80 SEK to watch a football (EU football, naturally) game via streaming. :)

truehappiness 18th October 2011 09:10 AM

I know NicoNicoDouga charged people to watch the Hatsune Miku concert in LA when it was streamed. I guess it depends on the act, really. The ticket price was 1800yen (tickets were 20USD when they were available) and I'm pretty sure there are other acts that do this as well, but it's way easier to get people to watch if a concert is free hence why a lot of acts end up doing free concerts instead.

Yellow Fried Chicken also appears to have charged for online streaming of a concert on NND (3000yen).

http://event.nicovideo.jp/ <-- two concerts that are set to happen that are 1000 and 1500yen respectively on NND, though you can watch a bit of it for free like how they handled CDL last year.

Bigtop 18th October 2011 09:34 AM

I don't care. I'm NOT watching this - especially when I have a mid-term at the end of this week - and this show's airing early in the morning my time!!!

ok what time is it going to be in new zealand ???

truehappiness 18th October 2011 10:09 AM

If you go to the page and scroll to the bottom, it should tell you what time it will be in your area.

But it seems like it'll be 10:30PM in New Zealand?

If that doesn't work however, use this chart from timeanddate to find out what time it will be in your area.

YUKARI 18th October 2011 11:11 AM

wish I could see it too!! but my internet connection speed sucks, so I can't ><

krtman2002 18th October 2011 11:59 AM

I have class at that time but... i think maybe I quit. This summer i was going to go to Japan and the earthquake happens and i couldn't go, so... it's a great opportunity to be in some way in the concert. Oh my GOD, what should I do!?

roanmy 18th October 2011 01:33 PM

I got my ticket!!! Wedensday is the only day of the week when I am done with classes at the Uni at 10.00am, so I can see it 90 min later =D

truehappiness 18th October 2011 01:38 PM

Wow, apparently CDL10-11 had 12,544 unique viewers when they did it before?

Hopefully you'll get to see a lot of the show! I don't know exactly if they'll have an 'on demand' feature afterward but... I hope they do!
