The album is absolute perfection, i love it SO much :love

Paparazzi 26th April 2012 02:47 PM

this album is literally perfect.

zellyx 26th April 2012 04:02 PM

how does it compare to Family Jewels??? I LOVE that album to bits.

So psyched to listen!!

Mirrorcle Monster 26th April 2012 04:25 PM

Disappointed tbh. It is overproduced and many song sound too similar

zellyx 26th April 2012 11:40 PM

EDIT: nvm

Love the tracks, but so far I like Family Jewels more... intially.
I am so obsessed with Lies, Primadonna, Homewrecker, but nothing more than Living Dead. :heart

milky_way 27th April 2012 02:26 AM

My faves: Primadonna, Starring Role, Valley of the Dolls, Bubblegum *****, Power & Control, and Lies

Can't wait to get this in the mail :heart

George 27th April 2012 07:43 AM

I love the album. I can't get into Teen Idle and Hypocrates though.

PetiteMonstre 27th April 2012 08:57 AM

It is very different from the Family Jewels, but that's why i like it. I wouldn't want her to produce the same album.

At first the songs do sound the same, but when you listen to them more often, they're def. different.

i love the lyrics a lot too, they are different then her previous work, but in my opinion they leave a lot more room for interpretaion. All in all it's one of the best, if not the best album released this year (imo) :)

It's a good album, nothing amazing, just... good I guess. I like it, but it's overproduced, and I don't think she's making a statement at all. I love Primadonna though, the lyrics are really good. I think it's the best track. Bubblebum ***** is fun too. Radioactive is amazing too, and I quite like Fear and Loathing.

...everything in the middle just blurs into one big 14-year-old diary mess.

ren'ai 30th April 2012 02:54 AM

I really loved the album! Valley of the Dolls, Starring Role, Primadonna, Teen Idle, Bubblegum biaatch and Homewrecker are frikkin amazing

Omg I forgot the album was released yesterday!!! :thud

I must buy now!!! & OMFG!!! She's gonna be opening for Coldplay (my favorite band) when they go to Portugal, Spain, & France!!! WTF!!! I just saw them last Friday, but it was two other bands that opened for them (which were good but still!)! I would've been soooo thrilled if she'd come to San Jose with Coldplay :/

CHE.R.RY 8th May 2012 12:39 AM

Sorry for the double post but omg...I totally didn't realize it was only gonna be released in the UK in April ugh! It's still not due for release until July in the states :thud

Either way, I've managed to get my hands on it (which I will buy when it comes out here ofc), and this album is spectacular! I remember when I first listened to the Family Jewels, I was pretty impressed with it, but for some reason the more I listened to it the more I realized that I only really liked a few songs. I've always respected Marina, but this album has sealed the deal for me. I honestly don't think it sounds overproduced, I think it sounds like a work of art. I think Family Jewels is light-years away from even touching Electra Heart.

My favorite songs are Lies, Starring Role, Power & Control, Living Dead, Homewrecker, Primadonna, Teen Idle, Fear and Loathing, Lonely Hearts Club (this song is ****in' amazing :luv2), & Buy the Stars.

All I can really say is WOW...this album is so cohesive in my opinion. I love the lyrics, music, and compositions. It's a job well done. :yes

Entitled "Hummus"

I love the visuals but it's quite boring.

CHE.R.RY 8th June 2012 06:21 PM

^ God she is soo gorgeous :heart. I thought it was an interesting little interview, actually. I love how honest & raw the lyrics are to this album...I mean, the music is awesome already but to have an album coupled with amazing lyrics is just rare nowadays, at least for me anyway.

& Omg!!! Where are those alternate versions of the songs?! Were they only made for the interview?! They sounded so good! I want them :(!

George 9th June 2012 08:05 PM

... I was meant to post the music video of Power and Control but I somehow got the wrong url. I actually love her interviews.

CHE.R.RY 13th June 2012 06:09 PM

^ Not the most interesting PV, but I still adore Power & Control.

relmy 19th June 2012 07:09 PM

...All Electra Heart has done is made me realise that, oh my gosh, The Family Jewels is one of my favourite albums ever. Numb is just... ugh, beautiful and amazing. ;__; I'll sing the praises of every song except Girls, that song and I don't really click.

Don't get me wrong, I love Electra Heart (it's a case of a great album and an amazing, faultless album that speaks to you on so many levels), but I wanted more weird songs like Mowgli's Road and Guilty. Or the the oddballness of songs like Hermit the Frog. I guess that's why I love the end to Fear and Loathing, or the bit about kissing the mirror in Teen Idle.

I've always liked TFJ, but I never realised how AMAZING it is. Oh No! is like.... my anthem in life. It's so badass ...I just love this woman so much.

George 28th June 2012 12:24 PM

I prefer Electra Heart a tad more. Although, her voice in The Family Jewels was sassier. I love it. But I guess she didn't need that much sass on Electra Heart.
