I don't see her as "ghetto Nancy Sinatra."
I LOVE her music, and I can't stop listening to the album.. especially National Anthem, Radio, Without You, Born to Die, Lucky Ones...

Though the subject matter is a little too similar, the production and mastering is superb (Listen to National Anthem with HQ speakers!!)

i like Born to Die and Video Games a lot...the rest were just boring to me.

Kanzaki 6th February 2012 10:43 AM

Love her album. It's so gloomy with a massive buildup in her songs that never really climaxes (:laugh), but it keeps you wanting to listen, wanting more. Her voice is completely addictive. And I couldn't stop staring at her in the Born to Die music video, when she was sitting on that throne with the tigers next to her...she looked flawless :weep

I kinda agree with the critics that her album is a bit too melodramatic and that she can tone it down a bit. Despite this impression of her, I do like her voice because it's sultry and sexy. She definitely can sing. She sounded drunk on SNL, and she sounds like she's faking an accent in some of her performances, but usually, she sounds great live. I just hope that the next album will be a bit more varied in subject matter and not as dramatic.

I have to admit though that "Born to Die" and "Video Games" are by far the best songs on the album, and I've been listening to them on repeat for a while. "Dark Paradise" is a close second. :heart I hope that people do give her a chance, as the album isn't bad at all. She's not just a rich girl. She actually has talent.

People are surely giving her a chance lol she's been topping charts and stuff :D

Her album is intense perfection, I LOVE LOVE LOVE how gloomy it is, just my favorite kind of music X) and she is so beautiful, so glad I went out and bought my copy the day it came out :3

Most of the time she looks gorgeous but sometimes she looks really unattractive. One thing is certain though, her hair is perfect.

JackieRos 8th February 2012 04:59 PM

I thought it was a wig of course.

Reminds me from the 70's

o I really like your blog

anyway for me, the more I listen the more I love it but also it is so melodramatic :/
at times a little contrived, like a lot of songs have similar production styles

but I hope she continues to grow as an artist,I heard she wants to quit after this album though, I hope she doesn't also wanna see her live ;@;

to me she is gorgeous *___*
except Video Games,omg lol

KremlinChaos 11th February 2012 03:45 AM

My friend went to meet her the other day. From his spazzing on twitter, it seems like she's both sweet and funnily sarcastic~
