If you place it side by side with the other albums from the last few years, it's much too low to be her 'actual' sales. Even FIVE was relatively high for a mini album. Though it did have more tie-ins. We'll probably get higher numbers tomorrow. If not then we're probably in for a 100k~ week.

I hope ayu sells more than 40k. I will be contributing my +1 CD+DVD sale next week, since I will order it next week.. :laugh (Offtopic, but I'm cheering for Namie's single as well! Whenever I see emiko's signature I search the songs up my library :laugh XD)

Pretty sure tomorrows sales will be better. As said already, some people didn't even know that it would be on sale already.
I'm not really caring too much about sales to begin with, but it would be nice if she surpassed 40k tomorrow.

Ayu seems to be doing okay on the real time charts.

On their monthly one, Ayu isn't doing as well but it's possible that it's because it's spread out over 5 different versions? (CD only, CD+DVD, CD+2DVD, the two limited boxes)

Looking at a lot of the 2ch threads linking to various store pages, Ayu is usually 2nd to ABC's 2012. However, that's only for online sales and can change with the brick/mortar store sales and any sales tacked on at the very end of the week.

I doubt it'll change that much. Avex has been failing when it comes to promo badly. Yes I am aware that their marketing can't make her sales sky-rocket, but this way it just seems as if they aren't doing anything -> let's just wrap as many releases in one ugly box and add a mug, plaster a few trucks with album covers and we're all set.

Yes. However, the 'first day' was really a day ahead of when the first day is supposed to be due to a national holiday in Japan. Instead of getting the figures for Tuesday's sales as the first day like we usually do, we got Monday as a first day. I think that also means that Ayu (and everyone else) will have an extra day tacked onto their sales.

We should see a slightly higher number for today's figures since it's the normal 'first day' but how much higher it will be is unknown.

she's appeared on the cover of high profile magazines, party queen had a cm tie in with peach john and HBYA was the theme of that drama. plus there's obviously large displays for it various stores etc, the truck, radio promo...even that recent photobook with leslie kee counts as promo.

while the promo isn't top notch it isn't horrible by any means. since NEXT LEVEL so many people have been complaining about "lack" of promo when that isn't the case. :shrug

do you guys want her to appear on tv shows like 30 times a week just like the old days cause that wouldn't really do anything, and tv appearances are the only thing that's missing really.

It's just one shop. It seems like whoever is posting those on Baidu or whatever is scanning the 2ch thread as well which is posting mainly the sites where Ayu is not selling above ABC which makes things look bad.

Also... I kind of see how ABC handled things. There's a PV DVD on one edition and a live DVD on the other which probably has most fans buying two copies of the album so that they can have PVs and the live. There's also a deluxe booklet only in the CD only edition.

This makes me wonder how many people purchased the limited box sets since they seem to have sold out relatively fast.
