I just finished watching Dejavu tour. Not my favourite but its a great tour. I'm sure this has been answered before, but does anyone have a translation for what Kuu says when she comes out in the black dress at the end while the credits are rolling? Much appreciated! ^_^

I think both have different target market..
ayu's aims more to teenagers and gyaru type of girls, meanwhile kuu's more to office female workers (well, you can't wear colorful contact lenses at the office) I need new songs!! |

happiholic★, that's how I see it as well.
I just can tell for sure for Edge Style, cause I'm reading that regularly. Ayu even is often before Kuu in those polls there, so I don't know if saying she's sporting the younger Gyaru crowd is right... Ayu has the Diva image as well as Kuu. Though Kuu has a different appeal and compared to Ayu Kuu wears the gyaru style also privately. While Ayu prefers not wearing make up, having her hair just simple and short and wearing rock influenced and simpler clothes most of the time. At least on her self posted twitter photos and so on. I've read in some comments in the net about the Kuu lenses that people want a nail line. I'm so for it! Something I'd use myself. That's also something I expect to see from her and not lenses. :laugh |
The reason contact lenses are such a craze in Japan is for the 'dolly' look, not to be western. Hence why in Asia to have porcelain white skin is also a trend. The fashion is revolved (especially in Japan) around looking like living dolls. :) It's the craze for girls in Japan, which is why Ayu also has the 'doll' look. (Which I personally quite love her style of late, not the photo-shopping, but love her fashion style) It's been the trend in Japan for a very long time.
Which is why western girls like dakotakoti on YT become famous rather quick in Japan, because they look so much like dolls, which the Japanese consider beautiful. The Japanese also love natural beauty. They even have dentists now that puts people's teeth back to being wonky, and more natural (Japanese and British people tend to naturally have wonky teeth). I think the Gyaru audience are probably most of the girls who love the dolly fashion. Since both Ayu and Kuu have a good Gyaru audience, it makes sense for them to make lenses. :) I'd love to see a nail line from Kuu! I was actually thinking that the other day, haha. It would be cool to see some cosmetic products from Kuu too, and a life-style book like Ayu. :D |
^ werent Koda Shiki and Koda Reki life-style books?

I agree many gals are inspired by Kuu. back in her top-time, in 2006, when Kuu was everywhere, there were so many looks inspired by her. remember during Koi no Tsubomi she wore her hair in a bun a lot of time and coloured a certain way? I have seen scans of that time with many tutorials for this hair. also, and a top and long skirt. and many more. really
I think Kuu make-up is typical mature gyaru (onee-gal), just without circle lens. here's a scan of just new Happie nuts and my all-time fav model Yui Minemura make-up :) I think it looks very Kuu. natural type. not to mention smoky eye & dark eyemake :D http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/699...2se1qae39y.jpg |

Gyaru conversation is up again. :D Brings back memories when I claimed so hard Kuu wasn't a gyaru. -.-' Oh well, I really love Kuu's gyaru fashion more than Ayu's. I've always loved more these sexy styles anyway than overly cute ones. XD

I think Kuu is more popular among those who like hip hop more than rock, too. Like, if you asked someone who was B-Kei (different style than gyaru, focused on hip hop style) who they liked better, I'm sure they would say Kuu. If Kuu did a nail line, I don't want the nails to curve the way her nails normally do. I love her nails in the picture of her and Kenji's wedding rings. Those are her best nails, imo. |
^ Can you link me to this picture of their rings?! I totally missed it!

Credits to Kumi Flash I know the nails are plain, but I love the shape and the simplicity. I believe the rings are from Bvlgari. |
Got home and here is a picture of the nails from around best first thing that were for sale.

^aww, so pretty ^^ I don't wear false nails but recently I bought a set with lace, these are also great, I like semi-transparent nails like these.
