This is not something solved by clever marketing or releasing the right songs. Also, putting your face everywhere on a phase you are mostly hated is a very stupid idea.

But is also pretty common for the 2nd generation after the peak to go after the stuff the past generation hated. It's not a coincidence that people like Madonna, Kylie, Namie, Yumming needed almost a whole decade to spark significant new public interest.

Do I believe Ayu will ever go back to her A-Best like popularity? Never. On the same way Namie never overdid Can you celebrate, for example, but there's a chance she will have significante sales and popularity boost near the end of the decade (2017, 2018, 2019).

:yes I would not have said it better ! Wait & See =)

That's actually a very interesting osservation.
I wouldn't mind at all if she follows the destiny of a Madonna or a Kylie Minogue, 'cause they're all careers that, success or not, deserve a lot of respect. I just hope we don't see anything like the promotion of LOVE and again, with all the ambiguity and traces of ipocrisy. She always had a great integrity, I don't want her to ever lose it.

I really really don't want her to follow the same destiny as Madonna, I don' want her to end up a woman in her late 50's trying hard to look like ho' :headache.

I want my Ayu to create her own destiny, even if her sales will end up like Ami Suzuki's, as long as her music isn't as trashy like Madonna's or Kylie's...

Ahaha, to be honest I meant their destiny as in the marketing part, not the musical one!XD And I think Ayu has already been inspired by Madonna in many ways, what's with all the change of image for every album, to say one?;) What I wanted to say is that, apart from the melodies they choose, Kylie e Madonna always cured their products very well, carring themselves with great dignity and self-confidence. I respect them a great deal!
And then, of course, for me Ayu would be flattered to be compared to them: Ayu may be my Queen of all Universe, but Madonna is THE Queen in musical industry, it's a position she earned.
But we all know Ayu, she's gonna do what she wants, she always did, clever move or not, and we love her for that. But I think criticize is a good thing, cause the loss of drama in the fan department is the beginning of the end. It would be the sign we just don't care anymoreXD
And sorry for the my long replies but, thing is, I really love discussing these things!XD

Ah! Sorry for misunderstanding! :(

Ayu will do whatever she wants and that's fine by me, but I agree with you that Ayu's marketing team needs to wake up~ :yes

OMG. No, please, this is SO likely to happen, I would die, lol.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 17th May 2013 11:23 PM

I really hope it makes it to 90k.

Delicious n Bold 19th May 2013 06:49 AM

90k seems like such a stretch.

spanishfan 19th May 2013 02:03 PM

about 6-7 weeks to 90k >.< if she keeps selling while the tour is going, she can beat even 92k, maybe xD

Elednist 19th May 2013 03:47 PM

If she doesn't reach 90k in less than 5 weeks then the album won't never reach 90k because if sales go down from 300 weekly then the album will surely be out of charts, as sales is not likely to be steady but just keep falling, IMO 90k is possible, but nothing more than that.
