Not it doesn't =P Her record is still in effect.

Btw brener, I think it will be better not to put the daily sales in "spoiler" yet until the first day of the next week, that users will be able to see everything for the present week until it's over right away. =)

I'm just explaining why Shirayukihime is doing better, I'm not stating that ayu wanted to do the same thing, we know she doesn't care about it.

EDIT

Just found it momoiro clover's single is TIME limited Dec 23rd to Jan 10th. So ayu's gonna compete them for the #3 pretty much. She will be able if she won't drop much (which is less likely) so I'm expecting for #4-#5 weekly.

Another competitor for #4 are yuzu actually. They were #4 today and if they will hold better than ayu than ayu's might be #5.
My worst expectation would be #6 weekly for ayu but hopefully she will be able to be in the top 5.

I thought about Yuzu too. And yeah #4 and #5 are a possibility... :(

FIVE, LOVE, and again weren't technically singles but they certainly filled the void. Only nominally there has not been a single in three years... Not to say Ftl/Mgr is/won't be successful, but that's a false scapegoat.

It kind of sucks that people will use this as "her career is even more over than it was before!" ammo... but anyone going up against Hey!Say!JUMP would lose the #1 unless they were AKB or another JE group. And maybe to some others if you have virtually no promotion.

TeamAyu2004 26th December 2013 02:32 AM

I don't get the whole, her career is over anyways...
this isn't 2000/1/2.
Her career will NEVER be over until she STOPS making music. As long as she is making music (doesn't matter how much she is selling) she still has a career.
Is her peek over?
Yes, it died a long time ago, her last million seller was missunderstood. that could be the mark of her decline or some could put it sooner, whatever.
But her career isn't over... -.-

It's so sad to see sales in such a rut. Not just for Ayu.

But I think 40k is possible. Doubt that she can pass again's sales

omg Japan should let all these groups release a single all together on the same week. I would LOVE to see it. AKB vs. Hey! Say! JUMP vs. etc.

Sometimes I feel there is always a plethora of excuses/explanations though...

There are reasons though. It's not just Ayu. When she did MOON, she sold 30k~ in one day which is what some people sell TOTAL now.

Bigtop 26th December 2013 05:10 AM

So Flower is taking #2 away from ayu? Whoa... Two idol groups - one Johnny's, another a typical girl idol - but then again, Ayu's 35 years old, and the members of the two idols that are on top of Ayu are probably not even 30 years old yet, mainly in their 20s...

adantatu2 26th December 2013 05:25 AM

Do you have ayu's digital sales ?
Ayu's physical sales are really good, she will probably sell like 30k this first week.

Anyway FLOWER popularity grew a lot because they are part of E-Girls, their past single "Taiyou to Himawari" had a lot of promo and it was part of a competition between 2 groups.

Hey! Say! JUMP is not at the level of AKB their singles always sell 150-250k

Deep snow 26th December 2013 06:17 AM

It's kind of shocking for me to see her debut at no. 3, but worse things can happen. She's still doing fine for today's soloist sales standard.

Congratulations, ayu!

I think what he meant is that the numbers on a week like that would be insane. Like a top 5 above 200k.

truehappiness 26th December 2013 08:35 AM

Arashi vs. AKB would be insane.

RealLight 26th December 2013 08:58 AM

You guys talking about sales, girl/boybands, etc, I went to generasia to see new realeases and then I saw AKB's new single title:

"Suzukake no Ki no Michi de 'Kimi no Hohoemi o Yume ni Miru' to Itte Shimattara Bokutachi no Kankei wa Dō Kawatte Shimau no ka, Bokunari ni Nan-nichi ka Kangaeta Ue de no Yaya Kihazukashii Ketsuron no Yō na Mono"

WTF is that? :thud

visionfactory 26th December 2013 09:05 AM

^They are running out of ideas to seek people's attention (yes, that's a song title)

How many people can come back after three years and still crack at number 3?

Oorrr..........Gone for 3 years and to only come back at #3. Utada has perfected the craft of the waiting game. ayumi has not. If they ain't miss you after 3 years then betch just stay home.

But seriously. What 3 years has she been gone? lol
None of the 3 that just past I assure you.

I read somewhere that this is the biggest single title ever in Japan (maybe in the whole world too...).
