Pretty nice! I can't wait to see the long-awaited scans soon! You're going to post it on the "Ayu Images" thread, right?

Wow that scan looks amazinnnng I completely forgot about that book. I never bought it.

ayu-michan 27th September 2015 10:48 AM

Guys what is Connected PV about? I watched it and my brain is too fried to think of something meaningful and deep rn. Is it original animation for Ayu or it's like, an actual anime and Connected was the music for it?

ayu-michan 27th September 2015 10:58 AM

I've been going through many old Ayu PVs and since i wasn't there at the time.... I have no idea what the true meanings are. Like RAINBOW for example. Why did she make the other Ayu disappear and have such a smirk on her face?

LONJJONG 27th September 2015 12:11 PM

^ RAINBOW was about Ayu came to terms with her past self. Maybe she smirked because she succeeded to do so? :P

Anyway, Duty is 15 years old today!

ExodusUK 27th September 2015 04:25 PM

Totally forgot about how perfect this song is.

Surreal17 27th September 2015 05:07 PM

Today I've put Duty (the album) on my playlist. 15 years since its release, wow. I was in my second year at kindergarden at the time.

oaristos 27th September 2015 05:31 PM

Duty is such a masterpiece, I'm so proud of Ayu for having released this album.

Surreal17 27th September 2015 05:36 PM

And some of the remixes from that era too. End of the World / orb 7" 'nigh laddy' is amazing!

Lyrics are always secondary to the music itself for me. The magic of music is that it has the ability to transmit an emotional feeling into your chest, through sound alone. You don't need words to communicate a message; in that case, you're telling the listener what to feel. Just make them feel. If you take away the storyline and remove the crutch of words that aid in painting a third party's experience, and you're still able to feel that emotion, to feel the aftermath of some sort of experience as if it were your own, that's when you know it's a good piece of music.

Learn to listen with your heart and not your brain. Develop a sense for sound.
It's the difference between reading a movie's synopsis, and watching the film itself.

I never thought I would live to see the day when you defend a LOVE again song :P

Gloria is optimstic and has a nice message to it but I have to be in the mood for these, since I usually prefer ayu's dance/rock/ballad songs over these, but I always had a place in my heart for it, I listened to Gloria a lot when LOVE again was released.

I wonder if Zeke can defend ASFXX's songs.

ExodusUK 27th September 2015 07:16 PM

The lyrics for Petal are so different for Ayu...like..basically she was walking down a path, stopped at a flower and romantically played the "he loves me..he loves me not" game?

It has Depend on you, A Song for xx, As if... why would it need defending? :P
Because she used to make a really squeaky and nasally high-pitched voice?
Even though I have to admit that something was wrong with its time as... it sounded kinda old style even though the instruments used were up to date to that time I think, but it still kinda sounded old.

And it's funny that petal sounds kinda tragic, and that's why I love it so much.

lol it'd be funny if the flower represents the guy Ayu's talking about.
Its colour, shape, and all else
There was nothing I really liked about it, but
I couldn’t help
But be captivated by it

Ayu sleeps with the guy and he had morning wood
When I woke up this morning
The flower was here with me
It had bloomed
Without showing even a sliver of fear
