Raina is releasing a debut single

I think it wasn't posted here..

Pledis is holding a 2017 Global Audition and in the promotional poster there are pictures of all Pledis artists. There was quite a fuss because After School WASN'T featured as Pledis artist on the promotional image, instead they put an image of ORANGE CARAMEL only.

It's not what we hoped for but it's something, finally :weep

AyuHamasaki01 1st August 2017 10:29 AM

:D I hope her song will do well on the charts!

ahtka-chan 1st August 2017 02:41 PM

I found the song boring but, well, I guess it has high chances of succeding with the korean public, so it's awesome for her.

I feel like she's in a make it or break it situation right now.

thinkingoutloud89 1st August 2017 03:07 PM

I don't think it will...did any of her besides that SAN E collabo?
I always liked her the last anyways lol but wish her the best

AyuHamasaki01 1st August 2017 05:59 PM

Her song is currently #43 on the Melon Chart.

During a recent interview, Raina was asked about whether or not the hit After School unit Orange Caramel might be making a return.

Raina made her debut in Pledis Entertainment’s girl group After School in 2009, and has also been part of the group’s hit unit Orange Caramel along with members Nana and Lizzy. The trio is known for their hits including “Catallena,” “My Copycat,” “Lipstick,” and more, and hasn’t promoted together since 2014.

On August 2’s episode of the radio show “Yoon Hyung Bin and Yang Se Hyung’s Two Man Show,” host Yang Se Hyung announced he’s a big fan of Orange Caramel and asked Raina why they haven’t released anything recently.

Raina laughed over his enthusiasm and admitted, “I’m asked that a lot. I’d like it if we did too, but I think there are a lot more junior artists at our agency now, including groups and solo artists.”

Raina said they had been planning to do something new and even recorded for it, but the agency decided to look for something better for them. “It kept getting delayed over time,” she said.

“We’ve also gotten older, and I think the agency wonders if it would be good for us if we continue with this image,” she added. When the hosts insisted that a lot of fans want them to return, Raina said, “Yes, I think it’s a shame too.”

Yang Se Hyung said he had wondered if there had been an issue between the members or with the company, but Raina insisted that wasn’t the case.

“It’s been postponed,” she clarified. “But if the song was really good… But it has to be really powerful. That’s Orange Caramel’s identity. I think we all think that if we did a ‘pretty’ concept, it’d be better to just not do it at all. But it’s hard to find that kind of thing.”

Didn't she or another member say the same thing a few years back when asked the same question?

visionfactory 3rd August 2017 10:56 AM

^Yeah, about not finding a good enough song

Anyway, they RECORDED it, release it damn it!! It can't be worse than Raina's comeback XD

ahtka-chan 3rd August 2017 01:04 PM

Yeah, they're not like BLACKPINK or Gfriend that can release a terrible song and still be succesful, they need to comeback with the most wonderful song of the year or else the comeback won't do anything for them. They've been away for too long from the public eyes to still be relevant. Sad.

i think it was uee or jooyeon, when they had already planned a comeback and prepared for the live, i think. It was shine, i think

visionfactory 5th August 2017 09:01 AM

I don't trust korean entertainment anymore, now it's not a matter of choosing the right song or having the talent to sing it

The only chance for the girls is to enter to P101 the same NU'EST did and now they are having a second chance as well

But I think the girls maybe are a bit old to enter the contest

thinkingoutloud89 5th August 2017 10:08 AM

There is a new show called UNIT+ which is for idols who didn't make it or idols that haven't promoted in a long time...maybe Lizzy joins in?

freedreamer 6th August 2017 08:53 AM

this comeback of hers could have been SO MUCH MORE IMPACTFUL!!

PLEDIS has amazing Woozi who writes superb ballads but cant even give Raina one??

and HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD RAINA'S OST LAST MONTH? This beautiful melancholic song is composed and written by E-YOUNG!!

AyuHamasaki01 6th August 2017 10:06 AM

Maybe Pledis hoped if Raina's song featured a member of NU'EST it would do well?

I really hoped her song would do well :(

adantatu2 7th August 2017 02:53 AM

The problem is that SEVENTEEN and PRISTIN are far more popular than After School. They aren't going to spend more money in an old group that hasn't promoted for a really long time. Just disband them please, I don't want to have false hopes.

JackieRos 23rd September 2017 08:41 PM

Wow news that isn’t about Nana or Raina wow unheard of.

E-young is opening her own idol training school music academy

freedreamer 24th September 2017 04:10 PM

Which basically means...she's gonna leave lol (totally reminds me of Minzy)

and I heard Pledis is sending idols to THE UNIT show. I think E-young and Kaeun are down
