What's up with avex? Kumi released a playlist as an album, Ayu releasing a bunch of video playlist as DVD... Such a weird and expensive release.

Nice to see Natsu no TROUBLE getting a proper release though! Hopefully we will get the right volume for the background track in WHATEVER :D

Also, funny how オヒアの木 is stated as "Ohia tree" on the mu-mo website lol

Iirc mumo uses google translate

Look at globe's releases after they "disbanded"...Avex has nothing but nostalgia to milk now. Plus they need to recoup some of the money they would have made from all the live stuff that got cancelled this year.

late-stage capitalism + decrease in revenue due to global pandemic + an industry giant which had been accustomed to ripping off consumers anyway :laugh

Where tf is jtb 2

visionfactory 19th September 2020 12:59 AM

The name plate is nice, just want to see a preview of it before ordering

truehappiness 19th September 2020 01:10 AM

Hopefully they put pictures up soonish as opposed to close to end of preorder times!

hidekirby 19th September 2020 03:14 AM

With everything that has happened this year I'm not even bothered by the fact that she and avex decided to do this lazy release haha.

One question, why are dvd and blu-rays so expensive in Japan? Is there any particular reason?

truehappiness 19th September 2020 03:36 AM

No reason, just a normal premium for media there.

For example, Taiwan normal press BD+2CD with Ohia and Dreamed a Dream is only like 50 dollars USD.

Evan Odinson 19th September 2020 04:54 AM

I'm glad this is a release that I can skip without feeling sad, if it were a new album or a Duty 20th anniversary limited edition my wallet would be suffering lol

alternarist 19th September 2020 05:27 AM

no feelings or excitement for this release. but I might buy in support of ayu who has had limited income this year. haha

Big box for easy money.
I hope they'll release Natsu no Trouble later alone or bundled with another single or album that'll be cheaper than this. It would be worth if the old concerts were in HD but I doubt they'll do it.

Oh ok... So random.
One will think it's going to be cheaper as the sales may also be declining in Japan but... Too bad for us :grumpy

More than Nastu no Trouble I would love to have this year's a-nation on blu-ray with a new release.
I also hope this strategy of pairing two different things into an expensive release will prove them wrong so they will return to a normal release pattern.

truehappiness 19th September 2020 04:37 PM

I think it's just the norm for Ayu now, she did it with Just the beginning and TROUBLE for example and before that M(A)DE IN JAPAN with Limited TA 2015.

Her latest compilation album is the setlist of her new tour, same order of songs and everything (with few chances because she always changes the setlist during a tour). Just like those playlist that are available on Spotify/Amazon Music for Ayu's concerts, Kumi has some of those as well, but now it was released as a physical CD.

The good thing about this release is that Natsu no Trouble is not like the CDL 2002-2003. Can you imagine having to go through all the trouble of getting a coupon to later get this DVD and being a limited time thing like the CDL was? It's funny and sad at the same time seeing reviews on Amazon saying that the LIVE BOX has a missing DVD.

lol I don't think it's a good idea but just checked the DVD and it's a live best-of just as BEST LIVE BOX maybe this is avex "new marketing idea" post covid19 :irked

Imagine if you already paid the ABEMA live fee as well, I think it was 4000 yen? I'd be fuming.
