This kind of thread again?

We shouldn't compare those two because they are so different. I think they are both good at their own thing. Obviously, i prefer Ayu because Hikki sings R&B which i hate. I'm not a fan of her voice either, but i don't 'hate' her. I just think Ayu is overall, better in my opinion.

I think Hikki made a bad decision starting a new 'english' career in the US because it didn't when that well. I'm glad Ayu isn't interrested in coming in the US.

I think the only j-pop singer that could maybe be successful in the US would be Koda Kumi. Since she already got the US music style/genre/type and the look, i think she might be successful.

i like that pic sakura drops! :)

anyway, as i said before. it's people's choice like asongforxx said that she choose ayu because she hates rnb.

anyway, i like them both. i love ayu's voice too. :) it's cute. but i like hikki's style. :)

yea you're right asongforxx, i think that america is not ready for utada's new english album. i still like her old album than her new one.

ges-hu 16th April 2005 12:50 PM

anyway, do you have an mp3 of Fly High. i've miss that song... and i forgot how that song goes. i just miss the beat and i wanted to hear it again. can anyone upload it?

thanx. :)

("nothing" in terms of talent and promotions). really, without all that, she would amount to much (even in japan).

Ayu decides what she wants to wear, people don't help her. And she does her own make-up too. Yeah, something there's people helping her put a fancier make-up, but most of the time, she does her own make-up. And she composes a lot of her songs and writes them all.

Don't bring this topic back up! We killed it for a reason! :shakehead (although your approach to the topic is much better than others)

I used to love Hikki but I feel her career is going down the toilet.

After her EXODUS flop, she comes back with: Be my last. One song?? It's been so long and this is the best can do? I really think she has so much talent, and has so much opportunity with her bilingual abilities. I'd just like to see her put them to better use. I'm rooting for her, but if she keeps coming out with the stuff she's been putting out, I don't know if I'll buy it.

ImpactBreaker 19th September 2005 02:19 AM

Actually I think Be My Last is a very awesome "come back". Amazing track, I love it a lot. And we can't really rate Utada as RnB anymore, her style changed ever since she released Deep river, most of her songs have this sad/mysterious style featured in SAKURA DORAPPUSU, Deep river, COLORS, Dareka no... , Be My Last and even some of the EXODUS songs like Kremlin Dusk. (Somehow I think her songs are sounding a bit like the soundtrack of Donkey Kong Country 2 for SNES which had sad/mysterious/beautiful ballads haaha)

lotusoka 19th September 2005 02:22 AM

I agree with you ^^. BE MY LAST is a great way for Hikki to come back.

Yep, makes me wonder.. Why are the fans so insecure to start this.. Anyway, I'm going with both. they're both pretty and clever and talented, although Ayu is better. :laugh

BE MY LASTTT...ahhh....ooooooo........ohhhhhh......ooooo oooooo.....

TO ME...Utada has MORE songs that (ok 2) I listen to dearly....Ayumi has only strucken me that way...actually twice too...

Utada: Be My Last / Dareka
Ayumi: M / CAROLS
YUI: GOOD-BYE DAYS

ahhh...but actually, I'm on a Utada/Ayumi Hiatus...(won't listen to anything related to them mp3-wise on my comp til 2007) overplayed...must learn of new artists....

Ayu for the win, Utada for the streak.

BigAyuFan 22nd July 2006 08:35 AM

Ayu is my one and always only pick

Same here, although I'm not on a hiatus, just merely gotten fed up of both of these artists. I'll vote for Mika Nakashima though.

Kodayumi 22nd July 2006 08:46 AM

Interesting to try out new artists =)
