I find it kind of funny how some of you justify Ayu's copying of other artists, but as soon as someone copies her, you're quick to jump on the bandwagon that bashes them.
The door swings both ways, people.

Why would Ayu feel the need to copy other artists? Surely, these comparisons are just coincidences. Like someone said already, music and style have existed for a long time, surely, somethings repeat themselves. So if I started wearing a cancer wristband, would I be copying someone else?

To all ayu zealots: please stop complaining that Jolin copys from Ayu when Ayu herself copies from a others....

A DOSE OF REALITY CHECK LOL HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

greggerz189 17th October 2005 06:04 AM

whatever. I think more power to her. She manages to (possibly) copy others' style, combine them and still maintain her own unique identity. Props to ayu.

Thatsa really funny! Ye-a..according to the images, Ayu is NO INDIVIDUAL, only a copying machine, and I find it quite strange for Ayumi. And some pics of "copying" are just rediculous! I mean, okie for the military costume, but about "ourselves" and die another day-the PVs have different themes, and some people are holding Madonna, and no people are holding Ayu! That is the big difference..

Poses-the are typical, for every singer. No matter what, evryone has the same poses if comparing to other artists. We can compare Aguilera and Britney that way too...

Ayu can't be just copyibng machine, I don't belive it!

Qt Mashi 17th October 2005 07:28 AM

some of the pics on that website is so far-fetched, only ppl who havent seen where the pics come from would believe the pics....

Ayu has said in interviews that she is a fan of Madonna...and yes from some pics it does seem that Ayu has been inspired by Madonna

Apparently Jolin Tsai said that Britney Spears inspires her o_O never said anything about Ayu....which she should have

[taskin.ayu] 17th October 2005 08:10 AM

Some of the pics have no differences. xDD

Oh well, everyone copies everyone else. xD

minkAYuko 17th October 2005 09:05 AM

Ayu is the japanese one...madoona copied the looks to fit her... Ayu can't be copying a non-japanese who's copying japanese????? what's up with that! hahahahaha

the one with the poses are just silly cuase a pose is a just a pose...

I'm very aware of this pics... I know madonna a lot.. but like some1 said already said.. if you don't know ayu or madonna... the pics come as a shock!

for the ones who made the ayu-copycat threads and sites: ''Don't hate the player... hate tha game!''

xD

Many of those pics are completely stupid. As if Madonna's "Don't tell me" and Ayu's "Daybreak" PVs are the same. They aren't at all and a person has to be on crack to think otherwise. Also, the majority of the clothes Ayu "copied" from other people barely even look like what the other person was wearing. HOLY COW, Madonna wore a plaid miniskirt and Ayu wore a plaid miniskirt, well gee I've seen at least 5 people in the last week wearing plaid miniskirts too...it's called punk fashion--contrary to what you may think, more than one person wears the same style of clothes....that's why the racks at clothing stores are full.

As for poses, jeebus, there are only so many ways the human body can move. Some poses just look good and that's why you see them over and over in fashion magazines and the like.

Anybody can take a screenshot, which is less than one second out of a video, and juxtapose it with another screenshot to make them look identical. But don't forget that those videos are much longer than one second. Brittney Spear's "Boys" and "Inspire" are totally different, and so are the clothes both singers are wearing. I highly doubt Ayu copied Aphex Twin. Even the screenshots look disimilar.

I usually don't care about these threads but most of those comparisons are just too lame to even tolerate.

HAMASAKI FANS STRIKE AGAIN
Dissatisfied with everyone elses view on the S.H.E. issue and the Jolin Tsai issue, it seems like Japan's Hamasaki Ayumi's fans have started another feud. But this time, it looks like they moved their attention towards the one who made them who they are, their very own idol. Their latest attack has been aimed at Hamasaki Ayumi herself, for she is said to be a "copycat" which has no real image. Her fans have blamed her right, left and center on some themes during her concerts said to be similar with other influential artistes such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue and music videos by Bjork, of all people. This shows the lenghts some people go to just for their own satisfaction. If this problem does not cease to exist soon, there will...
And what do we have to say for OURSELVES? Gyuttoshitemitari?

[AHS]MortalSex 17th October 2005 09:46 AM

Damn! I have never noticed that :P maybe cause Iīm not a fan of madonna ^^ well maybe ayu isnīt a "copy cat" she maybe just "came up" with the idea and didnīt give a thought about maybe someone else have already done it :P

Watch Madonna's Drowned World Tour and then Ayumi's Arena Tour 2002 lol

//hikari 17th October 2005 04:56 PM

I'm not surprised by all the biased comments going on.

It's lame to see such close minded people.

Someone posted they wore the same shirt as their friend and its copying (yes, sarcasm). Hi. Where were you when Jolin wore the same dress Ayumi did? Didn't read about how she was copying her fashion?

As usual you all jump on the bandwagon of defending Ayumi by stating this is just coincidence. If that were true couldn't it be coincidence that someone wore the same thing that Ayu has?

It's pathetic to associate with this forum when topics come up like this. Screw the 'ignore it' comments. If these weren't posted so much then there wouldn't be a problem.

I wish you would all get over yourselves and leave other artists alone and stick to saying how 'kawaii' Ayu is. I'd much rather read people posting the only three Japanese words they know rather than about how other artists want to be a falling star like Ayumi.

LeberliFatali: I just came here to ask which Moments live that was where she appears in the heavily-embroidered kimono then switches to something short and black with teh gold headdress, I've never seen that one before unless you're just sticking in random screenshots from different things to fit a theme.

Edited for them clarity thingamajiggers.

same here. it drives me crazy! when ayu "copies" she's only being inspired by them, or she isn't really responsible for it, or she looks better so its ok, but if someone else "copies" ayu, everyone works themselves up into a frenzy. its SO obvious that ayu is pulling from the work of others sometimes, you can't honestly say she isn't if you pay any attention at all. i mean, granted some claims are far out, but some are so obvious. its ridiculous that people look at ayu as some sort of goddess even though she does exactly waht they hate other artists for doing. ugh. :grumpy

chocosaki 17th October 2005 06:26 PM
