What is Dir en Grey, L'arc~en ciel, & Plastic Tree considered?
|
Indie rock, electro rock, lo-fi rock, folk rock - you know, the types of rock that aren't on the poll. :)
Though I'm with Halla on this on - I don't focus on genres, really. Just artists. |
I also like Acoustic Rock = Acoustic music converted from Rock music
|
i chose soft rock. i really dont like rock much but i do like an occasional song or two, and they always turn out to be soft rock. i absoplutely cant stand any of the grundgy stuff or the gothic or emo rock stuff...
|
Modern Rock = ;D
Classic Rock = ;D Punk rock = ;D Soft Rock = ;D Nu Metal = ;D Some Metal, but not alot. x.x |
Gothic rock, that's how I'd call it. Plus punk rock & metal from the list. Yup. And folk rock too.
|
I just have to say that everyone should listen to The Sword. They're very Black Sabbath-y with a touch of Clutch in the vocals. And the cover art to their CD is abso-freakin-lutely gorgeous.

Reminds me of the artwork for the Soilent Green albums.

I love many different types of rock music, from hardcore, to punk, to metal, Classic rock etc. Stuff I listen to ranges from No Doubt, to Panic! At the Disco, to Finch, Atreyu, From Autumn to Ashes, Smashing Pumpkins, The Clash, The Police, Mudvayne, 311, Kittie, Incubus, Red Hot Chilie Peppers, The Beautiful Mistake. I also love J-rock like Dir en grey, Plastic Tree, Glay, Luna Sea, X-Japan, Pierrot, Lareine, Fake?, hide, Art-School, The Back Horn. Also some K-rock like Cherry Filter, Pia, Eve, and The Trax.
|
I guess Nu Metal.
|
Hmmm, I'd guess I have to say that out of those listed I listen to Soft and Punk the most. :p

Ok, I love rock so I must be nit picky with some of the definitions given. :)
"Punk Rock (Music that sounds really simple and the guys hardly sing [Sum 41, Blink 182])" If you are making a Punk rock category, you have to list the Sex Pistols and Ramones. Sum41 and Blink 182 aren't really punk, they are more like pop rock. Punk is more about the attitude than the actual music. "Emo rock (Emotional rock where it kinda sounds lilke the singer is crying [AFI, HIM])" I don't think I'd really classify HIM as EMO. More Modern/industrial. "Soft Rock (Just really slow rock [Nazareth])" Nazareth is not soft rock. The only soft song that they are really known for is Love Hurts and that was a cover. They are definitely classic rock all the way. Soft rock is something like Matchbox 20 or REM. Quote:
