OMG, no way! :eviltongu |
Could it be that Ayu and Madonna always reinvent themselves?
Other than that, I really don't see the similarities. |
the saying could have started when she said this:

^Quite likely :).
I think I shouldre-read that article, it was a long time ago I read it and there's lots of things that I need refreshing. Thanks for bringing it up! |
you're welcome. I just now found it (and I'm very glad I did) there are very few english translated ayu articles. (none that I can find anyway,)
|
^You might want to check out article 1 and 2 here: masas page, if you haven't already been there.

Maybe it's just me, but most of those are reaaaaaaally far fetched. It's clothes.
Some of them are obviously very much alike, but many of them are a close up shot of something that looks similar but really isn't something that could possibly be called imitating. I do not doubt for a second that Ayu has gotten inspiration from Madonna when it comes to her clothes, but some of those pictures is stretching it a long bit too far :P. |
Yeah, and besides, lots of those clothes/styles were popular and trendy at the time, so everyone wore them...
|
|
Haha, the people who made this one gotta be joking :D.
I guess that whichever female pop star you pick, if you go through all their work/PVs etc you're gonna find similar poses or pictures sooner or later, hehe. But yes, I still think she has gotten inspiration from Madonna, but I don't think she has imitated every single thing she did by intent ;). |
^I've seen the first set of pics a long time ago before... (i can't remember where) and despite those pics I don't think people say that she's the Japanese Madonna because she copies madonna. I think they compare the two because of the impact they had on their respective countries
EDIT: thanks for the links immel! |
I read a TIME magz, in there ayu said many things about anything and about her idol,,.
She said 'Madonna is my idol, bcoz of.....(i don't remember)' I think, Ayu is like Madonna in Japan Bcoz 1. Their concert is quite same ( concept) 2. They are 'Glamour' 3. They are Women (hah) The differences between them is,, 1. Ayu has a very good smell of scent, but Madonna never use perfume!!(i knew that things from her dancer!!) |
Comparing might be good in a way, it will tempt the artist to work harder towards that artist(like ayu admiring madonna and learing from her). but, it could be bad in another way too, when the comparision is to another sl***y artist, who might pull the other party down.....
overall, i will say i do not like comparing. It's unfair. |
well if you want to compare ayu and madona... then there'll be alot o.o
ayu and madonna has been very so the same.. even max matsuura told the press that he thinks ayu will be more like madonna and end liek madonna.. cos ayu is gettign old and still she gets fan like teenagers and young people... like on madonna side.. she is gettign old she has a baby and she got pregnant and got husband.. and she still has teenager fans that lvoe her.. isnt it wierd for young girls to like an old lady music? o.o well the two of them blends in with the youth thats the good thing ^^ |
