Skal - I know, I like tons of her older stuff too.. but I agree with Grant in what he said -

Impact - I agree that it doesn't seem she's putting as much into her songs as she used to. If doing Ayuready and commericals and whatever take too much of her time, then I'd rather she not do that and focus in music. I like Ayu for her music, not because her face is plastered everywhere.

Yep the thing i admire most in Ayu is her music. i don't really care that much for her looks (even though she's super pretty and has a nice fashion sense but the thing that really turns me to Ayu is her music definitelly...if she were ugly but still sang like she sings i would still love her the same) It's really something very different that you'll hear out there. It's even quite different from usual JPOP. To tell the truth I was not supposed to like JPOP anymore cause i was tired of anime songs. But Ayumi was a very different step toward a different and much better JPOP style. I'm afraid "Greatful Days" preview sounded too much like any cheap anime poppy song you'll find anywhere. LOL:laugh

yes, yes... I also think that if Ayu puts too much time in her show, then she should focus again on her music.... I know that I'm not the only one here who's lost most of my interest in Ayu these past few months... With CDs like Rainbow and A Ballads, they're ok, but certainly not Ayu's best... far from it, to me. Some of you may say that you do like Rainbow or her other recent CDs, but to me, they have no where near the impact and thought into the songs as did stuff from the I am... days and before. Just look back at Ayu's career: from her debut to around 2001, she released over 20 singles and a few Ayu-mixes and albums, but somewhere around 2002, that "fast production" of CDs seemed to have stopped... gone are the days of 10-track CDs or a new release every month or 2 at most.... yes, it may be caused by several things, like a weak economy, lagging sales (or maybe even good sales), or just the fact that Ayu's so bus with other things that she's shifted her priorities. Whatever the reason may be, I just hope that "&", or whatever she releases in the future will bring back those days of lots of CDs, and most notably, bring back the Ayu which I loved so much back in the day: the Ayu known for her awesome remixes!!!

I mean, most closing songs aren't the greatest things in the world. It's probably just a little jingle.

It's a song meant to be a song. It's not specifically designed to be a theme song. It's writen as a regular song, then they decide to use it for the theme ending. Many Ayu's recent songs have been used for some kind of TV show begnning or ending theme. That doesn't mean the song will be of a lower quality.

Ok, so, it's ok to make crappy ass songs and make us pay for them just because it's an ending song? She's a singer, so the standard is much higher than for some cheesy soap or something.

Nope, even if it is just a "closing song," they still add a lot of effort to make the song. They probably just chose that song because they needed a change and to promote the new single.

It is not just a closing song. Any Ayu song is a song, no matter if it is Taskinllusion or any other song. And as an Ayu song always expect for something really fantastic, SPECIALLY if it is from a single, because I know Ayu has the potential to make super incredible and fantastic songs almost 100% of the time she releases something new LOL But I still haven't listened to the whole "Greatful Days" song. I really didn't like the preview but there's a chance I might like the whole song. That happened the first time I listened to July 1st as well. And the preview was a **** but the whole song was really good!:)

Amen to that. It's soooo hard to judge a song on 30 seconds. And maybe the song just needs a little time to grow on you.
