It's true that in Montreal, there's much more J-Rock fans. But not any type of J-Rock. Mostly Visual Kei, which is the one kind of Japanese music I do not like. And it's true, a lot of people who knows J-Pop is mostly because of animes. But a lot of people are interested in Japanese stuff though. When I go to the huge manga section in Carrefour Laval, there's always quite a few people there checking mangas!

I know a lot of people who likes J-Pop though. Most of my friends listen (or used to) to J-Pop.

Some people... like Kristel and two friends of her.... and some of my friends like it too :)

5% i guess? my area has quite alot asians. but not much i know listen to j-pop, asians born in australia listen to local australia and english musics. ones immigrate from asia( like myself) listen to mostly tw-pop and canto-pop. but i know few that listen to j-pop. feels good not being alone

yaoyy..japanese artiss quite popular here..but taiwanese artist more popular than japanese

same here too in S'pore . Local magazines like TEENS & Teenage put taiwan acts on their covers almost every month without fail which's quite annoying to me .

I don't listen to chinese music even though I'm a chinese but you can't help that both magazines tend to support chinese music more than Eng music which can be quite frustating to me .

Most people here do know that Ayumi exist. Just because she's really popular, not because of her music, but people know her as a Japanese diva. But they've never really listened to her music. If they would only try to listen, I think that they'll like her. Her music is not hard to get into liking.

I haven't come across any J-Pop fans here in Yuma. I have seen quite a few anime fans but that doesn't really mean anything. When I lived in California I knew quite a few J-Pop fans...
