But then again..It wouldn't really work :( |
Did you know they have something like that here in Holland? You can go to some recordstores and compile your own CD there. The disadvantage is that they have a limited number of tracks and I don't think that they include much of a booklet either.

come to think of this matter....
...the deadly fine and jail penalty....i think it's just another way to stop people sharing music...i think the modus operandi r like this...they go find some target that can afford to pay the fine and make them pay for it...then go find another target and collect from them...and not to forget...each time they grabbed some poor guy and made him paid or jailed...put it on medias..newspaper, national tv..etc...to show what these RIAA guyz can do to u...and to struck terror to the public, sharing community and offenders...the point is to struck terror...so people stop sharing goods...there's no way to stop this sharing matter..but RIAA saw a way to curb it.... ...so what u can do is...i think..stop sharing for a while...and get yer files off the net...u can always unshare or share which files u want in p2p programs...u dun hav to delete yer files...although they can still hack into yer pc to see wether u got mp3 or not...regardless the fact u r sharing it or not....so i think another way is to modify the *.mp3 extension...into something else... ... i think they dun sue underage offenders....but maybe the parents have to pay for it...this is also another way...for RIAA to rally people to enforce this matter...if the parents would be responsible of the kids doing..then many parents would be aware and start to monitor their kids net activity...so...RIAA got themselves unofficial enforcement at home...and same goes to college students....maybe the institution would have to take responsibility....and the institutions will start to monitor their students net activity tooo....so the problem would be curb from the root.... just from my point of view....i think... |
everywhere i go already had restrictions on the comps. you cant download anything not even zip files. complete restriction. i tried to search a topic on biology and it wouldnt let me because of questionable words! what the f.... anyway the RIAA can do what they want. my parents already scout the computer, its not like me and my siblings fo anything that was wrong anyway.:rolleyes
ive done with restrictions before and i can do with em now. but its just the thought of them trying to stop people from sharing. isnt that what we learned when we were little? to share? i mean not share illegally...of course not. theyre just mad people dont deem their music worthy enoughto buy. or maybe thats just me. |

hahahaha if they ever tryed suing me id do use that in court aagaint em haha yeah its all greed really, would they really do this to anyone underage tho? i mean its been said before that most people who download are like young, below 18 really, If i veer saw on teh news "RIAA sues 13 year old" id be extremely shocked Most music today aint worth 15 bucks. For example Rap.. some rap i like.. some very little.. why?.. because its all the same thing same same thing, if mabey artists came out with MORE original songs, and original styles id buy. usually its only 2 songs that pick u up ya know, and teh res its just thrown on there to make a cd look long. Theres two rivals JayZ and Nas for example.. Jayz Comes ouyt ityh a double cd.. Nas comes out witha d ouble cd.. xcept Nas had only three tracks on teh second cd and they wanted to charge 25 bucks! im like WHATT!!... well lol thats just a small example of how overcharging for CRAP is making the RIAA loose money, oh sure blame it ALL on people sharing.... |

music like jazz is what gets me going. rap has turned into an evil monster. not that i dont still listen to it occasionally but its not worth it anymore. i wake up one morning and i see David Banner on my screen. when did he become an artist? ugh. The RIAA, i think, should figure out that, yes most of the downloaders are young children and that suing them is not going to solve the problem. making their parents pay is not going to do it either. theres so many solutions that are available to them. i wish i could sit here and name some but i cant. im tired. If the RIAA stops and thinks for a moment theyd probably figure out that most of the decline in sales probably takes place in the rap category. nobody wants to buy CDs like that. everywhere i look i see my friends burning rap CDs. not anything else. rap CDs. okay thats enough from me right now. -Ty |
i dont like how they are going to do that, and they might even destroy our computers and make it cost hundreds of dollars to fix and they wont even be paying anything but if you think about it file sharing is always going to find a way to be around like how they tried to shut down all the file sharing networks but LOOK they are back!!!! so maybe thats whats going to happen here hopefully at least but that sucks about how they will do that errrr!!!!

well, not to get OT, but yeah.. I think that the majority of today's music is, simply put... pure garbage, frankly... most of these "no name talents" haven't got a clue as to what people like, and think that rehashing the same ideals of boy bands and such will get good sales... but sadly, most people are brainwashed to liking this "stuff", so until the day that new, original music comes along, people will be forced to liking this stuff, DLing mp3s, and continuing this cycle of things... |

I dont see many good songs at all now, i agree with Cientific, I used to only listen to rap.. but then it just turned.. liek freakin stupid, The only rap i listen to now and i admit is good.. is teh old stuff rom Outkast.. and Jurrasic 5, tahst about it... its getting really sick and stuff i mean at first a few curse words okay ni biggie.. now its liek... *BEEP* BEEP BEEEEEEEP OKAY!! BEEP BEEEP* okay wtf if ur gunna sing.. then sing, u dont gotta curse out teh listener!.. anyways tahst y ive given up on rap, it just isnat what it used to be... its gone from rhyming to pathetic attempts of being a bad@$$ |
I for one am getting pretty tired of being called a thief. It's a completely wrong generalization to say all artists expect their work to be paid for. There are several that love having their music heard. I know I'm not everyone, but I for one download an album, and still go out and buy it. Having it on your computer is one thing. Having the actual CD and official merchandise is another.
Yes, it's fine and dandy that people do their best to make music. They can pour their "blood, sweat and tears" into anything. But, I ask; remember the days when we made mix tapes by recording songs from the radio? What is that? Same concept; "stealing". Did the RIAA ever go after the people who did that. No. They didn't. It's the same concept, and no law-suits ever happened. The facts are that record sales are as high as they've ever been. Singers/artists are still hitting multi-platinum and diamond marks. Sure, people download songs. So? The RIAA should be focusing their attention on the several P2P programs available for download. They should have Microsoft and Mac and other OS's remove the support of music formats. They should crack down on providers of music-playing software which enables you to play mp3s and WMAs and the like. Going to an individualistic level is time-consuming and costly. One individual person is not going to be able to pay $100-$1000 per copyrighted song. They shut down Napster. They shut down Audiogalaxy. How is going after the individual going to change things? |

I think the problem with rap/hiphop is the same as the problem with music in general. I mean, there's good rap. I LOVE Aesop Rock, The Pharcyde and Black Star. But there's just too many crap, and that crap out there is what makes all the CDs cost so damn much! There's 1000s of CDs with thos 'Pimpin' hoes and bitczhehs wud get da dough' lyrics, who's gonna buy all that crap? NOONE. Jeez, ppl should get real and realize customers aren't THAT stupid that they'll be everything released. But as I said, it's the same with most music (most mainstream music actually). There's good R n B (I guess, I wouldn't know cuz I have but one R n B record, Melky Sedeck's debut which is a great album btw) and there's loads and loads of bad R n B. There's good punkrock and there's bad punkrock. If record companies would just get real and stop releasing all the bad crap maybe things'd get better! Oh yeah, and the fact that they shut down Audiogalaxy pisses me off cuz it was the best ever! |
Urgh, these ugly money minded monkeys made me sick.
We are just sharing, and we did buy our fave artists' CDs! It's no big deal at all, so why the hell they're kickin' such a big fuss out of it? Thanks to MP3, i get to know ayumi, and all other japanese artists. If their music is really good, why bother them being downloaded and ripped by the publics? There will be people buying and you can still make money. And if they're still scared of it, just put your songs on your website and start selling like Apple's iTunes did. No problem at all. I say that they are losing even more money by sueing us. So either way they are walking towards bankrupt. ROFL! |

I even found the soundtrack to Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage there, which isn't available on CD or anything and I'd been looking for it so long! I'm so happy with that, and you can't say it's wrong to download that cuz it's not even available on CD! Which is weird, it's a great soundtrack and the composer is Stewart Copeland, the famous drummer of, among others, The Police!
I really miss audiogalaxy! :cry |
yea audiogalaxy... i remember dat... dey had like soo many songs! whoa u could find like everything! deyeven use to have a forum... damn i miss audiogalaxy too!!! http://www.ahsforum.org/forum/images/smilies/cry.gif

heres another good qiestion: why isnt teh RIAA going after companies who make MP3 PLAYERS?! what good is an MP# player if you cant get MP#'s UGH! another reason showing that the RIAA is targeting the wrong people.. or forgetting about other problems..
|
Here's a paradox for ya --
Sony Entertainment Group is part of the RIAA. Sony also makes portable CD/MP3 Wow. Just wow. How does that even begin to make sense. They put copy software on CDs so you cant rip MP3 even if you actually BUY the album. And now you can't download the music. Then WHAT'S THE POINT OF MAKING MP3 PLAYERS?! ARGH! |
The point of having an MP3 player is so the CD's you buy can be put on your computer and played with ease. Have you ever noticed if you've got a CD playing on youer puter and your doing alot of other things it kinda gets jammed or slows down?
Also..if you only have one CD-ROM player but want to listern to your music and your CD player is not in your room or close to your computer..you can A) Turn up the music very loudly or B) Rip it to mp3 format and play it from your computer. Plus you'll free up the CD-ROM for if you want to use it. Also.. Portable MP3 players have been made so the people who have paid all that money for a CD can format it to MP3 then place it on their Portable MP3 player. Not to have it shared on P2P programns like winMX or Kazaa Lite. You have the right to copy all your music (because you own the ogginal one) if you own the CD your just not allowed to distrube the CD by selling it, lending it or giving it away. Your ment to use it for your own purpouses not help others. *Gets off soap box* |
