Her drawings are one more reason that I love her.
Thanks for the scans <3.

HonMaru 23rd September 2008 02:39 AM

No need for thanks guys, I'm just happy that those who haven't seen them before saw them :)

Not every cd that she's released with Cutting Edge has her drawings on it.

My Trinka Trinka cd's haven't come in yet..sadness. But I think the CD+DVD version is probably the same. It's been like that with all of her releases.

HonMaru 23rd September 2008 02:53 AM

So which mini-albums ( from this new "happier" era. ) do you guys feel is stronger? I personally like Trinka Trinka better than "The Cloudy Dreamer". The Cloudy Dreamer's concept ( A battle between the mind and the heart. ) was good, but the songs weren't as strong as the concept, not to mention she included two NANA songs: which pissed me off. :irked I was looking at the lyrics in Trinka Trinka's booklet and I gotta say that the lyrics felt more "OLIVIA" to me. "Internal carousel cues an upright rainbow", and "Neurosis deep within me" ... stuff like that reminds me more of her "dark" era. The Cloudy Dreamer did have it's "OLIVIA" moments, but I felt like it was dumbed down like her NANA music.

GRACE 23rd September 2008 02:56 AM

Hmm... I can't really make that decision. I really do adore most of the songs on The Cloudy Dreamer, especially Stars Shinning Out, Cut Me Free and Who's gonna stop it?. With Trinka Trinka, I definately like every track, which is a plus over Cloudy Dreamer, but I feel like the tracks on Trinka Trinka are too long, they take way to long to get anywhere.

Bad Wolf 23rd September 2008 04:45 AM

I'm surprised you feel that way! To be honest I don't think I'd use the word "long" to describe anything about Trinka Trinka - it's so... short that it leaves me feeling frustrated, but then I end up putting the album on a constant loop so XD I guess that works out.

HonMaru 23rd September 2008 05:12 AM

I read this interview last year but forgot a lot of stuff that was in it. No wonder why I felt like her new stuff felt "dumbed down":

I can't wait to hear the music she's really wanting to do.

You guys should really check out this interview. She did it with purple SKY magazine last year. You gain a better understanding of why her new mini-albums are "pop", and so much other cool stuff. It's found at the annaetolivia.canalblog.com gallery. Here's the link: Click When she said this:

I'm like "You rock!" :love

Okay, after thorough listens of Trinka Trinka, I'm only liking the first two tracks on the mini-album. I just can't get into the rest of the songs. I miss Livey's experimentation days~

Melon Panda 23rd September 2008 07:08 PM

I have yet to listen to Trinka Trinka, but I will now! :)

LEOyumi 23rd September 2008 10:34 PM

I think The Cloudy Dreamer is better than Trinka Trinka. Dunno the reason why, I just think the songs are better.. Although I love TT as well *o*

Melon Panda 24th September 2008 12:18 AM

The Cloudy Dreamer seemed more rock-pop, whereas Trinka Trinka is more pop-rock. Does that make sense? Either way, I love both mini-albums. Rain is a great song, and the electronics/synth used in Trinka Trinka are fantastic.

KarenPang 24th September 2008 04:36 AM

I only listened from The Cloudy Dreamer EP onwards so I can't really comment much on this

Melon Panda 24th September 2008 04:47 AM

I haven't actually listened to Synchronicity - how is it, compared to The Cloudy Dreamer, Trinka Trinka, and The Lost Lolli?

KarenPang 24th September 2008 10:16 AM

I promised GRACE a while back ago that I will take better pics of The Cloudy Dreamer & Trinka Trinka CDs since I have both the CD only editions of it so here you go :

synchronicity isn't a bad album, it's just not cohesive ( kinda ironic with the title of the album right? ) Some of the songs are pop, some are alternative rock, then you have some experimental / electronic songs that we all know her for.

That's what everyone is talking about though. Which mini-album is better so far: The Cloudy Dreamer or Trinka Trinka.

I like both actually although I must admit it took me quite a while to warm up to Trinka Trinka since the style on there's quite different from The Cloudy Dreamer

ALPHY 24th September 2008 02:27 PM

The Cloudy Dreamer is better, imho. ^^

ALPHY 24th September 2008 02:44 PM

Mmm, the English lyrics don't seem to fit properly, haha.
