remember when Ayu Against Kobukuro? 5296 was release 2 weeks before GUILTY around 19th dec if im not wrong. GUILTY came up on chart on 25 or 26th dec and facing 5296 so both album went together for double week until 9th january

The release date actually confuses me. The new year releases are always in stores on the last Wednesday before Jan 1st. So according to that, the 2010.01.01 releases will be in stores on 2009.12.30, and in addition people will find the cds on 12.29, so that the Tuesday ranking will appear on Wednesday chart.

So You were.../BALLAD should fall into the double week as well. Unless oricon is changing the format in 2010 (which means separating the double week into single weeks), otherwise we won't be able to see the weekly ranking till the 2nd week of Jan...

And I dun really like the idea of ayu being in double week again...

It seems like they genuinly put a lot of thought and care into this single. It already seems different from her previous work. I hope the songs (and vocals!) can live to the expectation of two great ballads

Ahh... I see... But I still have faith in Ayu to beat this boy band. And even if she doesn't, who cares? It's just a streak~ As long as she continues to make music, I'll continue to support her!

The thing is that kanjani8's singles are limited (the question is to how much) though if they aren't limited to huge number of copies then supposdely ayu won't have threats from them or from releases from weeks before.

But only time will tell =P

Yes, unless kanaji 8's three singles are 100,000 limited edition each, then I guess it may have a better chance for ayu.

Oh wait! Kanaji 8's x'mas singles are on sale Dec 23rd, 24th, and 25th.. That is a different week than ayu... what the heck am I thinking??? :shakehead I dun think kanaji 8's second week will have much threat on ayu... :P

GUILTY's official release date was on Jan 1st but started charting on Dec 25th till Jan 6th as first week sales. By releasing on Dec 29th, it will be part of the double week like GUILTY. Kanjani8's 3 singles even though they'll be released 1 week before ayu's, (Dec 23wed-25fri) I think they will still fall under the double week too.
