I have no clue how anyone can tell, that MOON sounds rather good or not. It's a 15 seconds commercial or let it be 30 seconds, but also, there's the fact, that her songs used for a commercial are edited somehow, so they sound different from the actual "Original Mix".

After hearing the song in better quality. I'm not really feelin' it. It's quite boring, generic and it's only memorable because it reminds me of another song. Give me another Sunrise as a summer song over this any day. I also hope it's not the main A-side and that she has another song up her sleeve. Maybe the full track will change my mind. Also, how is this a ballad? Maybe my definition of ballad is limited but this just sounds mid-tempo not mid-tempo "ballad" but whatever. And even though I don't really like this track I'd take it over Last Links (her most generic, unoriginal and underwhelming song to date in my book) any time any day. /end crankiness.

I remember when most of us don't like Don't look back CM preview and now most of us love it lol.

Well, I absolutely adore Last Links and thought it was everything but generic, so yeah, I'd also rather have something like that.

I hope her next single isn't a ballad though. I'm not a ballad fan and I can only appreciate it if they're epic (like, ironically, BALLAD). Plus it really doesn't fit in with the summer, if she were to release a single around that time.

Japanese people loooove genericness though. Her interesting stuff always flies over their heads and she's basically got to cater to her main audience. It's lame that the alternas and such always get such a cold shoulder from Japanese people, but that's life.

I ADORE Curtain call. I think it's perfect and under-appreciated. As far as Life, I never listen to it. I kind of forget it exists like teens and a song is born. I just hope MOON turns out to be better than the preview leads on. Previews suck in that respect they ruin the essence of a song.

As for Last Links, I see why people eat up that song. But really, an Ayu song only disappoints me when I feel like ANYONE in the world can sing it. Maybe it's just me but I'm not moved by her emotion for this track. It's her vocals I have a big problem with (and that crappy chorus). I LOVE the lyrics though.

I've based my opinion of a 15 second clip on a 15 second clip, yes. :P When the full song comes out I'll decide whether or not I like it but so far the clip leaves much to be desired.

Ayu does not have that many songs anyone could sing or would sound as good if anyone else have sung them. She has a uniqueness to her music that is just missing from Last Links. I don't HATE Last Links, it's a nice listen. But it just falls so low below the bar for me as far as Ayu's music is concerned.

Even compared to those songs Last Links is the worst as far as originality. It's not about the instrumentals or composition of this particular song. I don't feel anything from it at all. Her voice doesn't deliver the song. Even in Sunset her vocals are better (as my friend who doesn't like her would describe, "sexy" :roflmao). When I say anyone could sing it, I literally mean anyone could sing it, because Ayu's emotion are not there in my opinion. :no And it feels so rushed, it seems like she's singing the entire song through without stopping because she wants to get it over with. In the universally agreed generic song Days, Ayu's voice is FILLED with emotion and sweet tenderness and that is why Days has captivated a lot of fans and is STILL on the charts (in one way or another). But this isn't about those, this is about the 15 sec clip of MOON, which so far seems to deliver as much as Last Links which is nothing at least to me. But I'll wait for the full song because I still really want to hear it.

Personnally I have no real opinion for MOON for the simple reason it's 15 seconds O.O though I have an odd feeling but how can you hate it or love it with 15 sec ?! Lucky that we don't judge humans only by their clothes we saw for 15 seconds or we would miss a lot on earth I think !

I like it. But I think it's too early to form a 'real' opinion because the CM versions tend to suck. Like I remember how awful Sparkle and GAME sounded in the Honda and Panasonic commericals.

I felt the special-ness with the chaku-uta version, but not with this. This version kills the song somewhat.

I still don't know if it's just me and my ears, but the CM version really sounds very different from the chaku-uta. The chaku-uta really gave me that old classic ayu feeling, but the CM one just made me wonder what kind of weird arrangement they subjected the song to. Could someone who actually has the chaku-uta listen to it and tell me I'm not hearing things?

Yeah, the chaku-uta version had stronger strings, and some fantastic drumming going on. And none of that crazy bass going on like in the CM version.

Oh well, I guess it IS too early to judge. But the chaku-uta really had my hopes up. No ayu preview ever got me the way MOON did, lol!! :luv2

That clip of the CM has some really LQ audio, I think. I got the high def-ish TV version and it sounds like a clearer version of the original chaku uta, hm....

I guess everyone's misunderstanding what I'm saying, actually. My concern is not about the quality, it's about the arrangement of the song. In the chaku-uta, there was none of that bass sound that it is so clearly, definitely there in the CM version. I think it's a horrible addition, and my hope is that the final version doesn't actually have that bass sound, and even if it does, at least turn it down and not let it rule over the entire sound the way it's doing in the CM version. That's all.

And this is all just my personal opinion. Many people like this CM version, I'm fine with that. I love the song itself too, alot. Personally, I just don't like that CM arrangement.

It could always be that the CM used a demo of the song and CM has been done for a while but they had to wait on promotion and the chaku-uta is the actual finished product?

I agree with STEP you but I also notice the same thing with Beautiful Fighters and ANGEL'S SONG. All four songs sound very different than their final version. I hope for you that it was just the demo on MOON used in the CM.

When that CM initially came out, no one thought Ayu was singing the song.

i still don't hear that much of a difference in the songs. i think people are exaggerating. besides her voice sounding a bit different, i can't pick out that much of a change. besides, there's way too much talking going on in a lot of these commercials to really be able to compare them.

I know quite a few of the people on the forum at the time who liked the CM version of Beautiful Fighters and didn't like the end result. I don't think people are exaggerating but that's just my opinion. And like truehappiness said, when the CM version on Moments came out a lot of members didn't believe it was her.

I think you just can't hear it because you don't want to hear it, haha. Beautiful Fighters has quite a bit more of a heavy sound compared to the woman-cheer-song version. I thought from the title that it'd be a harder edged song [FIGHTERS] but it ended up being more Beautiful than Fighting-ready, haha.

Listening to the Moments CM, that was probably the version I heard first. Totally explains why for a short while why I skipped over it. Cause I remember letting it play through and started thinking "why haven't listened to this song before? It's so beautiful!" Now I know :laugh

I really, really like it. Little surprise guitar solo in there as well, wasn't expecting it. Its been really well arranged.

That chorus is epic. The synths that soar with Ayu's vocals.. wow. Perfect.

The only downfall (if this is really one anyway) is that it is a familar sound from Ayu. Not as er.. unique from her other mid-tempo songs as I expected it to be. It does sound more modern though, this formula has been given a glossy makeover. You can tell she's got some new composers/arrangers in there.

But I'm only going to listen to it once or twice, not going to ruin hearing the song in good quality!

Yes, that song isn't something new from Ayu, but it sounds really nice! I wouldn't say that it sounds like her old works, I think it's similar with her recent songs (it would perfectly suit on R'n'C album). I'm amazed about her voice, she sang it really good!
