I love this album so much! Looking back on this year, this woman has been a machine! It's amazing that she's still able to perform so well and with so much energy. She's been working non-stop since December of last year with all of the music shows. I don't know about all of you, but I've been extremely entertained throughout her 10th anniversary and I can't wait to see how she completes her 10th year in the music industry with FANTASIA.

Singer, Koda Kumi’s live DVD “KODA KUMI LIVE TOUR 2010 UNIVERSE” (Released on the 6th), has sold 47,000 copies in its first week and entered the total DVD ranking at #1. Since the release of “secret~FIRST CLASS LIMITED LIVE~” in September 2005, this is the 6th consecutive year that she has acquired first place.

How so? Both Mirrorcle World and Days/GREEN were AMAZING singles. AT08 was fantastic. The CDL's were fabulous. Ayu looked stunning the entire year. I for one think she owned her 10th Anniversary year.

The content was great, but there was just a lot of time in between releases where we wouldn't have any info. The gap between GUILTY and Mirrorcle World was big but nothing compared to the wait until we got Days/GREEN and AT08 took forever to be released. PCDL was great! The last part of the year picked up a bit, but it was a pretty slow year...

There's not a single ounce of fat on Kumi's stomach in that BEST JEANIST video, no wonder she's showing it off. :laugh

Well there was also the release of A COMPLETE. And GUILTY wasn't even a part of her 10th Anniversary... and Mirrorcle World came out when it came out because it had to coincide with the release of poker face to really be her 10th. Anni single.

I dunno, I liked both singer's 10th annis. Kuu has arguably produced a lot more material though.

lol i totally forgot about A COMPLETE somehow... that was a nice package. but there were a lot of people on here complaining after the release of Mirrorcle World that it's a horrible 10th anniversary and she isn't putting anything out. Even though she was touring the entire time, we didn't have constant updates or stuff like that.

Yeah, Kumi had the UNIVERSE tour, Dream music park, and now FANTASIA Dome. But Ayu's tour was really really long and went all over ASIA.

lol meh. I would have rather had more material than a really long tour that went all around asia...

She could have had a regular year AND still did all those things...

And then as far as releases...

Ayu- Mirrorcle World, A COMPLETE, Days/GREEN (two sinlges and one compilation)
Kuu- Best~third universe~ + 8th album UNIVERSE, Gossip Candy, Suki dex3/Anata dake ga, Eternity~Love & Songs~ (one original album, one best album, a triple a-side single, another single, and a cover album)

...It is a hella lot. But I really don't think either or was better or worse. I enjoyed both.

She went back to Korea, lol. And did an album; special enough I guess (for her hard core fans at least) seeing as she hadn't released a Korean album in like 5 years or something. No one cares about BoA in Japan anymore so any 10th Anniversary celebrations wouldn't have been much a party.

now we can't say that singer is doing an "ayumi" (as in releasing new stuff like crazy). We HAVE to say, "that singer is doing a koda kumi" xDDD

I think it's stupid to compare the two anniversaries. I for example, prefer Mirrorcle World than two bland singles and a cover album. And... "better than crossroad" isn't anything too convincent to say about Suki dex3 (I mean, the single is pretty good but LOL) and say that "DMP owns Ayu's Stadium Tour 2002" is really odd to say because hey... it's like 8 years from that concert. Anyway, her 10th Anniversary is really full of events and it's good for any fan, but I hope she don't be overloaded at the end of everything.

Any fan can express your opinion, but tell it like it's a fact is totally wrong.

She is so hardworking! What's even better is that this isn't technically even her 10th anniversary yet! This is just like a preshow to hopefully what we will get in 2011! We will definitely get the ~milestone~ 50th single during her 10th anniversary year as I can see AVEX playing it up.

It might be real, there was a flyer faxed from Avex announcing the single. Seeing it on livedoor gives me even more hope! She will surely get a boost in sales from the single since it's released the same week as Fantasia!

I'm 100% agreeing with everyone who says Kuu's 10th anniversary owns Ayu's opposite. Lol it was a boring 10th anniversary and it felt like just like any other year of Ayu's career to me lol. :D She even disappointed me with most of the stuff that was released. :/

But enough about that. I still haven't listened to ETERNITY but I will as soon as possible. Hopefully it gets the #1 spot too because it would be cool. <3

haha..I think both Ayu and Kuu have their own methods of celebrating their 10th Anniversary. While Kuu went all out with many many different things like UNIVERSE, Gossip Candy, Suki de x3, UNIVERSE Tour, Dream Music Park, ETERNITY ~Love & Songs~, FANTASIA (there's really TOO MUCH! haha)..,Ayu decided to release a BEST, a major single on the day of her 10th Anniversary and spread out into Asia, release remakes of her old hits. Scale-wise, Kuu had a larger variety while Ayu had a more focused approach by usign Mirrorcle World as her song-of-the-year.

I honestly WANT TO GET THE DVDs for UNIVERSE, DREAM MUSIC PARK and FANTASIA!!!
btw, is Dream Music Park considered a special version of UNIVERSE?..an extended version? Since it doesnt really commemorate her 10th Anniversary if FANTASIA is here to do that.

GLAY's new self titled album was released in CD & CD + DVD's . I think if ETERNITY ~Love & Songs~ was released in 2 formats , sales might been better

Except for this one, wtf happened here? Her face looks more like it should be promoting Gossip Candy than a sweet collection of old love songs.

I don't like it when people say "yeah but it's only doing good because of a million versions" or "it's not doing so well because it only have 1 version".

I know different versions DO make SOME different in sales, but it's not like she'd have suddenly sold 30k+ with 2 versions. The sales just aren't amazing, but ok. I guess deep down I was expecting a BIT more, considering the success of Juju's cover album. It might be also that, since it's been released right after that one, people don't feel the need to buy another cover album.

Still, I really did enjoy the album. Megami no hito is my favourite < 3

^Kobukuro just released a double-disc cover album at the end of August that sold really, really well too; I just looked up and it sold 380,000+ in a month and a half. Sorry Kuu :/

Yeah, exactly. And Superfly's single Wildflower was basically a cover album as well, and that has sold 270.000+ copies so far. And that can't be just because of her single songs, because her best selling single so far has only reached like 40k.

I don't think you should compare Kumi against Kobukuro

Their ALL COVERS BEST had a limited print of 400,000 copies & somemore they got it released in 2 different limited edition formats too

Albums will always be compared, especially when they're released around the same time or have a similar concept to them.

Yeah, there were two formats and a limited print run for Kobukuro's, but JUJU's cover album that recently came out sold 240,000+ in two weeks and that only had one version and the same amount of songs as Kuu's. I wonder if it had something to do with the fact that JUJU's had more of an accessible track list, covering Hikki, Bonnie, Namie, MISIA, etc. I just wish Kuu's sales were a lot higher for this because it really is a special release.

you made a good point there because I honestly can tell you I don't know how all the originals sounded like for Kumi's case :O

not even 1 song :O . For Kobukuro's case , I do recongised some . Maybe cos of the songs Kumi choose to cover , that probably might attribute to the sales that ETERNITY received on the 1st day

people who never heard of the originals like myself might not consider to buy if not listen to the cover album that Kumi put out

I guess we can only hope for constant sales then. Even if it ends up selling 50-60K in the long run... but and then there's also the fact that she has released so much this year already; I'm sure that plays in too.

Yeah....I wouldn't spend too much time comparing JUJU's album to this one...that album seems to have been very highly anticipated.

As seems was her studio album earlier this year...and Superfly lol We're gonna have to get over the fact that there are some people in Japan who are just more popular with the Japanese.

Honestly, after knowing what they tend to like, I don't mind it that much lol

JUJU's studio album this year sold like 120K, which isn't that much... Irony of all ironies, that album had a second disc which was all covers, so this is technically Juju's second cover album in the same year... and it still sold really well so it's just upsetting to see Kuu's sell so mediocre-ly.

I think the fans of the artistes she's covering are just jealous/upset/bitter that Kuu like outdid those songs than the originals. Omg I'm such a Kuustan :laugh

Seriously speaking though, I'm not THAT surprised at how much ETERNITY is selling; reli, I'm not expecting Kuu to sell like her Black Cherry days anymore, and JUJU, Koubukurou & SUPERFLY can sell reli well for their cover albums but yeah... it's just not that important anymore xD

13k isn't bad considering this is just like Out Works, Driving Hit's, etc. It is an amazing album and deserves amazing sales, but it's not a studio album and wasn't that heavily promoted.
