I love the new single, as always the b-sides are pretty good! but I'm actually loving the a-side too. I heard about her around Distance single, and loved it... but never really gave her a change till now. I love the single! Happy Half Year is my favorite.

aw, thats normal considering your situation. When I was going through the same I couldnt listen to Ayu ballads at all since I would get even more depressed.

Are you kidding - I thought it was all official her album was coming out next month!? I am so letdown now. I have recently downloaded her 2 earlier albums and finally got around to putting her newest album on my iPod (downloaded it a while ago but forgot to put it on there). She has a lot of boring songs but the ones I like I really do like! I will admit it's getting tiring listening to the same 8-9 songs over and over but I still love them. I was thinking though "Damn, can't wait for new songs next month!" and now it's being pushed back??
Good thing is that I haven't listened to "Sakura, I love you?" in full yet and I haven't heard any snippet of "Watashi-tachi" (just downloaded the b-sides) - waiting to listen to those a-sides until the album is released. Love her b-sides though, although that "I'm a pretty girl, I'm a pretty girl" one from Sakura, I love you? was so atrocious, lol. Anyway, my fav. Kana songs: 1. Secret 2. Just the way you are 3. LOVE LIKE CRAZY 4. Where are you 5. Happy Half Year! 6. MAYBE 7. WRONG 8. Dear... 9. Alright! 10. Christmas Love It's hard to rank them since the more I listen the more they change but I think I have at least the top 4 worked out in that order. Funny because when I first heard Just the way you are and Secret I thought I was going to hate Secret when it started up and those verses but all of a sudden I loved the song more than Just the way you are. Same thing with Happy Half Year! and LOVE LIKE CRAZY - I found LOVE LIKE CRAZY a little annoying after the first 3 listens and now I can't get enough of it! |

I've just looked on tokyohive who have an article on the recochoku charts. Kana's been knocked down to #2 on the full download chart by JUJU.
Are singles always released a couple of weeks earlier in digital format in Japan? The physical released isn't for another week, but I never see any digital songs shared online before the release date, and it's never mentioned when I look on generasia pages. Can someone clear this up for me please? :) |

Kana is truly beautiful in those scans, especially in the "BLACK" one. I wish we could get an official album announcement soon. I've been listening to her old albums on loop for a while now.
Speaking of old albums, which one is your guys' favorite? It's hard for me to say, I think it might be Thank you, Love but I'm not sure. I really like LOVE one. as well. It's taken me a while but I've started to really like to LOVE, too. I didn't like it at first. |

I love the single covers. Super cute and retro and I love that she's not making the same cute pout she usually does. There is some expression. Not to mention her super cute hair and dress.
Also, yay for new album. Wonder what it will be called. The years are just flying by. If feels like only yesterday I was released. I still remember playing it on loop while I was sleeping because I found it calming. And it was her only song, lol. |

New single? :o I find those covers pretty cool though that bunny annoys the hell outta me. That's the only thing that I don't really like but those colors are awesome and Kana's expression is awesome too. Her expression in the first cover also made me think of Kuu's TABOO cover. She had a bit similar expression on one of those covers. I just don't remember which one. And no, I'm not saying Kana's copying anything. Just voicing my thoughts. :)

Now that someone mentioned the bunny it bugs me too. I really hope it isn't a mascot. I hate Koda Kuma and the fact that its in my life, I don't want this Usagi Kana.
I have to say, maybe this is shallow, but a big part of why I love certain singers is because of the looks, the overall package. Sure, I like some singers and download their songs, but I don't fangirl over them like I do singers like Kuu and Ayu. I'm much more interested in singers who not only make great music, but are fun to look at. I can't stand concerts with just the singer and their guitar, I want a whole performance. |
I wouldnt call it shallow, it depends on people's view on music and what they expect of a certain artist. I really doubt if you hear the song on the radio and it touches you you will care as in not like the song, if singer is ugly lol.

For me music/lyrics are always the top priority for the singers I adore. Their fashion/image whatever comes after that. It has always been that way. If I only listened artists for their looks, I would ignore Utada Hikaru for example completely but I don't because I prioritize music and lyrics more than her fashion style. Same goes for Ayu, Kuu, Kana and bunch of other singers from Asia and western countries. :)

RayJason, I had a crush on 'Tatoe Donna Ni..' last year, maybe you should try it out, if you liked 'Dear...' ? (which is my favorite with 'if' :P). And to be honest, I don't think her albums are that good overall, appart from a few songs, most album tracks are quite random and just fillers. But if I had to pick one, I would probably go with Thank you, Love. As for upbeat stuff, I would go for 'Distance', 'MAYBE', 'WRONG' 'Best Friend' & the two b-sides of 'if' |

And from what I've learned about Kana's singles, she usually has at least one wow song on her singles. I'd like to hear something like Every Boy Every Girl and ONLY ONE.
