well tbh I was hoping that she wouldn't include megami no hikari as B-side that song is a clear A-side that needs to come out soon haha The covers are fails why doesn't she just put a picture of her face on there I don't understand. The guy makes this song absolutely unbearable miliyah sounds and looks fine but whoever made this collab happen shouldn't be allowed to make own decisions anymore. Maybe the B-sides will be ok but other than that... next please. Kinda sad about it since miliyah is my second favorite solo singer

So forums again. It amde me expect something really bad. It is such a cool song, very different, very energetic, very upbeat. Its probably his style of msuic, but it just widens her catalogue and her sense for music. Awsome. I should have known after most of you hated SS. |
^ errrrrrr, I loved Shonen Shojo and I don't like Piece of Cake at all. I don't know what you're talking about, it clearly doesn't mean anything. Good for you if you like it I guess, at least one person on earth will like it.
If I focus on Miliyah's voice solely, it's ok, but I can't say I like it either. The "bridge" part is kind of nice, but I guess it's because their voices are smoother and don't irritate me as much. Shouting isn't exactly music to my ears, sorry. Sad to say it's the first time in 10 years I don't enjoy a Miliyah song. :( |

and the song is simply awsome, it is just not her usual style - it carries the emotion pretty well and there are whole genres based on screaming. than rapping isn't music either? cauz that is just talking. Moreover, this style of music is pretty cpommon for japanese music. I'm glad she tries something new and doesn't stick to safe sound and gets lot of different features... thats the only way to evolve. |
^ I don't remember most 'hating' SS. Personally I loved it from the get go and its perhaps one of my top 10 songs from Miliyah. While some people did vocalize their disliking of SS, it wasn't hated by most from what I remember.

I am in the same boat as Utena. I loved Shounen Shoujo but this song... one of the very few I dislike from her.

Shounen Shouojo was great...? The only thing people disliked was something about the PV. I think it was the ending or something.

Yeah, just the choir part in Shounen Shojo was disliked by some. Myself included :laugh Aside from Miliyah's hit-or-miss covers, this thread is pretty positive.

Gosh, whats wrong with me. that choir was the best about the song (just the transition sucked). I'm still mad at her for cutting it out - it added so much drama and deepness to the song.
Maybe the plain covers are just slipcases....lets wait and see. I stopped caring for covers anyways - glad when they are nice, don't care if they are not. |

HOLY SH*T!! Piece of Cake was finally uploaded and I just watched it. I don't think that song is THAT bad, Mineta Kazunobu kind of ruins it like he does the P/V. He needs to loose that hairstyle too, not to be judgy. (I'll be honest, I don't know much about him. Aside from learning basic info as I just looked him up.) Miliyah sounds good though and albeit a bit grundy looking, she's really pretty in the P/V. Especially with the long blond hair.
The chorus is the best part(s) of the song.. I don't really have any issues with it until Mineta Kazunobu starts shout singing. I really feel that this would have been a fine song if Miliyah performed it solo, but since they worked on it together... I JUST think why it doesn't sound good is because their vocals don't mesh well together at all. Listening, it was just a strange juxtaposition of her vocals being sweet/pop and his being rough/punk... if you will for comparison. The essence of the song is very cutesy, pop. Its not a good pairing for this collaboration. If they sang in similar styles then maybe it would work, but Miliyah just doesn't have that rough quality in her vocals and vise versa. Anyway as the P/V rolled into the second half, it just got weird when Mineta moved up toward Miliyah. My initial thoughts ran from, 'oh, its like they're interested in each other, going to serenade each other' then quickly changed to 'omg he wants to devour her'! I mean... I could totally see him being a Titan in Attack on Titan trying to eat Miliyah up. She is not his Piece of Cake and she totally moved him arms length away from her at one point and even at the end as they embrace each other, she's totally punching him in the back. It was just WEIRD. Oh, THIS kind of scared me: Spoiler:

The last single I truly enjoyed was EMOTION. LOVE LAND didn't do too much for me. Kamisama, UNIQUE, and maybe Lonely Hearts.
I really liked the singles from the TRUE LOVERS era. ROMAN, AIAIAI, HEART BEAT. Love those songs! But also couldn't really get into the album tracks except for 眠れぬ夜のせいで and All I Want Is You. |
Loveland was indeed weak at firts but grew on me the last weeks.
Shonen Shoujo is clearly her best song since Yuushatachi. HEARTBEAT is still a mess, addicting though. |

She also posted the covers on LINE with more info. Apparently Lipstick is a sort of updated-version/continuation of "Dear Lonely Girl". She wrote "Dear--" in her teens. She's now 27 and Lipstick is for her fans who have grown older alongside her. She wrote it for women who balance work and love. |

the PV is strange to me, she should go back to her creative director during Ring and Heaven, seriously, and her atrocious fashion does piss me off, but it's not that important. the single did sound like an old Miliyah which I am grateful for and really appreciative, because I missed that with all her experiments. but at the same time the songs didn't really impress me, I need something good and upbeat from her or really sad.

If there's any other info & if anyone should correct me, please do! (news article: http://www.barks.jp/news/?id=1000122402) :) But personally, I loved the songs Miliyah's sampled over the years ("BABY!BABY!BABY!" just instantly comes to mind :heart) so this should be exciting! Especially since it's a dance song.
