Omg it was so amazing . What a great show it was and for her to close off a nation Singapore too !

I was 6 rows away from her onstage D:

Gonna be writing about it later ! Ayu thank you and please come back again to Singapore this time solo next time !

js_surrealism 18th October 2014 04:00 PM

She was flawless. Vocals were very on point. I went berserk when she sang a song for xx -- it was completely unexpected. They were playing some electric guitar riffs and I thought maybe she'd do Is This Love or something since that was fairly recent, but then the intro of a song for xx and I was jumping like a mad man.

And then RIGHT AFTER the opening keys of Memorial address started, and I was shivering all over cos I was so moved that she'd play it. The 2 Japanese girls in front of me were crying like babies.

I gotta say, watching her in a small venue like this is 321938210938109x better than seeing her from miles away in Yoyogi stadium. Sigh. She was so great.

maxikot 18th October 2014 04:03 PM

Looks amazing :o wonder if we will get any video footage. Can't wait for reviews of you guys who attended and I'm sooo jealous ^^

KarenPang 18th October 2014 04:04 PM

Local celebs Romeo Tan and Elvin Ng came to see Ayu perform ahaha was not expecting to see them xD

Both of them were 2 rows behind me and Romeo wrote on his Instagram he already supported Ayu for 10 years

Ayu was the only one that had costume changes and an encore . Her 2nd outfit she wore was my fave

Yo chan looked youthful must be his haircut xD

ExodusUK 18th October 2014 04:13 PM

Glad y'all loved it. Hopefully Japanese news will report on it though it might not go with the mainstream media's "Ayu is hated" agenda.

Trust me there were quite a lot of Japanese fans that came & flew in specially just to see her because the concert venue was in quite close/intimate especially if you're seated in the 1st floor as the venue has an additional 2 more floors

Quite a lot of seats were empty before she finally came onstage 8pm+ & then when I turned behind , suddenly the very same lot of seats were all filled up xD

- black sheer bodysuit (when she sang STEP you & XOXO)
- black sheer Victorian inspired gown (when she sang A Song for XX , Memorial address & Love song)
- ayumi hamasaki 2014 SUMMER T-shirt (Lelio onwards inclusive of Boys & Girls)

XOXO was so hot I was almost fanning myself a bit hahaha . The black sheer Victorian inspired gown she wore was amazing *w*

Romeo Tan has been ayu fan since his secondary school days I think... There was an interview on him with his ayu album last time. Elvin Ng is not a fan but he is quite close with Romeo (there was rumor about him and Romeo being couple) so I guess that's why he was there.

Oh ok & both of them weren't present when a-nation began . They only turned up when m-flo was about to begin their set . I was a bit shocked in seeing them when I turned my back LOL

really?! my friend who was behind them directly told me and i think they arrived pretty early though hahah

ayu put on an amazing performance!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes vocals were really really good omgosh

I was two rows away from her and I kept using my iPad to get her attention, literally with a "LOOK HERE" sign and she caught it at one point and did a "ok" sign HAHAHA!!! I was dying in happiness already. and another moment I did a heart shape with my arms and she waved in my direction so YAYYYYY.

Last moment of interaction was when I managed to stretch all the way to shake her hand in Boys & Girls. OMG I SQUEALED SO BAD AFTER THAT *.* she was SOOO CLOSE!!!

I think ayu was very happy throughout the night! I think she really could feel everyone's energy right from STEP you. Pretty amazing I have to say..during the WHOA WHOAs. XOXO was so hot and fun! I think the choreo is amazing still.

And yes, literally went crazy when A Song For XX and Memorial Address were sung omg. A BEST LIVE feels came back to me but this time she was JUST SO CLOSE. We could see that true blue rock nature in Ayu coming alive and it was so awesome to see her with her hairwhips. Love song (HELL YES) sung with the previous 2 really makes it feel like the LATEST Ayu trademark tune.

Lelio~You & Me~S-e-S were SO HYPED!! Everyone was just moving and dancing. (I was quite annoyed with the security in front of me..could sense his mistrust in me whenever i jumped and he put his hand forward to stop me from jumping in front)

Ending off with how beautiful you are was amazing. Ayu spoke to us, thanking us and telling us we are all beautiful in our own ways. It was a touching moment for everyone since it was already the end and Ayu herself was feeling quite emotional when the song started. She sung it beautifully and it was so strong in the final chorus <3

Boys & Girls for the encore was epic. She finally moved to the ends of the stage and shook shakes with the fans. Everyone's energy was still up..and yea, pretty sure 80-90% of the people were there for her. I saw people leaving halfway and only returning when m-flo was up (who btw, put up an AMAZING show)

flew back from HK just for this. NO REGRETS :) Ayu is amazing!

Ya I didn't saw them in the beginning when a-nation started , when Stella Seah came onstage 10 mins early before the show originally suppose to start

Quite a lot of seats were empty & the same lot of seats were only filled up when Ayu was about to do her set

Ah well doesn't matter , I just hope if a-nation Singapore returns back next year , please hold it in the Padang leh , MASTERCARD THEATRES AT MARINA BAY SANDS felt very enclosed xD

Too bad the silver strings that were released from the top didn't had any of the artistes's autograph & I collected/brought back quite a lot home xD

freedreamer 18th October 2014 06:02 PM

I wonder if Ayu finally decided to come back to Singapore because of Alvin Lee HAHAHA!
and i really expected Feel the love and MGR since she said she would pick songs from Colours but Im really glad she sang more of her epic hits instead :)

LOL

The stage at MASTERCARD THEATRES AT MARINA BAY SANDS was so small but yet she still made an effort to make a rather grand/cool entrance before she began STEP you + let alone have outfit changes too

MASTERCARD THEATRES AT MARINA BAY SANDS is the same venue when the cast of the Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de movie came last July & last year I was seated on the 2nd floor . The 1st floor was only reserved for the media

What a difference on what I saw just now . I think the media were seated on the 2nd floor of the venue

And yeah I was really thrilled that she did quite a lot of her old songs they're still golden but of course the ones she picked/sang from Colours were also good

jiarongisme 18th October 2014 06:19 PM

Quick review:
Spoiler:
Ayu sounded great honestly.

Because there wasn't a rising platform for the stage, they entered from the side of the stage. They were literally pushed in :laugh

Opening video was a mash up of PVs + a count down. Similar to a-nation '14/A BEST LIVE's. After that, the same opening song from a-nation, followed by STEP you and XOXO. Same as a-nation '14/PREMIUM SHOWCASE.

Again, due to the lack of a rising platform, Ayu couldn't disappear in her usual fashion. She had to run to the side of the stage.

Rock section. Yo-chan was playing some pretty awesome guitar riffs to get the crowd hyped up.

Following that was A Song for xx and Memorial address. Think A BEST LIVE, but with a different dress and altered lighting.

Love song was next. Same as a-nation. What's awesome was that there were the lyrics on the LCD screens. I almost cried for this.

Lelio was next. Nothing special, though it was super fun. You & Me had a slight remix before the final chorus. SUR~evo~SUR, in typical fashion. Really fun too.

Stage went black, spotlight on Ayu. She thanks us for coming, and says that her show is trying to convey to all her fans that they're all beautiful. 'Final' song was how beautiful you are. Like HOTEL Love songs. Ran back stage, but it was obvious the show wasn't over. Everyone was shouting for Ayu to come back.

The band came back to the stage, and then Boys & Girls started. Real fun! After that, the show ended.

Overall, it was a really great show. My favorite has got to be the A Song for xx/Memorial address/Love song segment. It was amazing. I'm so happy I finally got to see Ayu live. It really is a dream come true. I hope she comes back when she's touring or maybe for another a-nation.

Ayumi Romania 18th October 2014 06:27 PM

Thank you for the reviews!

orangeakira 18th October 2014 06:53 PM

Lelio, You and me, XOXO, Memorial address, A song for xx, How Beautiful You are. This setlist is a mixture of upbeat and depressing.

Jieweitan 18th October 2014 07:07 PM

Super thanks for the pics! The staff saw me took a photo and made me delete everything (mostly innocent stage pictures, and a few blur Ayu pics). I didn't like the way they did it though because they did it in a rude manner, without taking into account that they are disturbing audiences sitting next to me. Another time they caught another audience videoing next to me, blocked my view while asking her to delete the stuff.

Do all Jpop concerts ban photography? I went to other concerts before and it was allowed. Or was it just a difference in enforcement?

That said, it was a great concert! Ayu was amazing! The other artistes were superb as well. My only gripe is that the audience wasn't as kind to the other artistes, to a point that the host had to come to ask the audience to make more noise/clap/stand in order to make the performers feel more welcomed. It was a real pity for Stella Seat and Wagakki Band. The crowd was quite cold during their performances. It took Sonar Pocket to get about 60% of the people started. By M-flo, you could see that 90% of the crowd, who mostly do not know him, started raving. The whole hall went bonkers during Ayu's performance.

Hopefully Ayu and A Nation would be back bigger next year. With the global TA poster, I sense that we'll be getting more global Ayu activities real soon.

labello 18th October 2014 07:17 PM

Thank you everyone for sharing their reviews and opinions! It sounded like it was quite fun, the set list also seems to be quite diverse!
The STEP you fancam was great!! So much energy and the "wowow"s from the audience were so loud, I was super impressed! I guess a smaller venue makes stuff like that seem a lot better :)

tiffanytgs 18th October 2014 07:22 PM

Still feeling excited after the show. Love song was really awesome! hope she will come back sg next yr!

adantatu2 18th October 2014 07:53 PM

I'm glad you were really happy with her concert!!!

KarenPang 18th October 2014 09:02 PM

omg finally finished writing my concert report via my LiveJournal +_+ it's almost 4am D: xD

I just post the portions on what I wrote about Ayu as what I wrote on my LJ is super duper lengthy it's not funny +_+ xD

Spoiler:
Finally after it feels like forever , Ayumi finally took to the stage at around 8pm+ . And despite the small stage , she still was able to make things rather grand in her favour .

Before her set started , a countdown timer was shown onscreen + a moving podium was pushed out from backstage which featured Ayumi + some of her dancers wearing cloaks before she finally began her set with her being the closing act of a-nation Singapore !

Ayumi's setlist :

1) STEP you
2) XOXO
3) A Song for XX
4) Memorial address
5) Love song
6) Lelio
7) You & Me
8) SURREAL ~ evolution ~ SURREAL
9) how beautiful you are

Encore
10) Boys & Girls

==> 3 outfits Ayumi wore that includes :

- black sheer bodysuit (when she sang STEP you & XOXO)
- black sheer Victorian inspired gown (when she sang A Song for XX , Memorial address & Love song)
- ayumi hamasaki 2014 SUMMER T-shirt (Lelio onwards inclusive of Boys & Girls)

With Ayumi being dubbed the headline act , it was really no surprises that her set was the most grand as compared to the rest . She was the only 1 that had multiple costume changes & also having an encore for her set in which of course she deserves to have it x)

I recognised Ayumi's band members who came onstage together with her aka guitarist Yo-chan , bassist Enrique & Timmy . Yo-chan looked really youthful in person (must be the hair cut he had ? xD) while Timmy was really fabulous in drag , dreadlocks & the works haha

In interviews Ayumi did before a-nation Singapore started , she promised she would be doing a mixture of old & new songs + sure enough she didn't disappoint at all .

I was so happy when Ayumi (decked out in a black sheer bodysuit , singing while holding onto the pole that was mounted on the moving podium) kicked off her set with STEP you as up to now it's still a great track which was followed by XOXO .

Honestly I love XOXO + the version that Ayumi did was somewhat more raunchier than what I saw in the PV but everyone didn't really care & just wanna have fun x)

As a longtime Ayumi fan , the next 3 songs she did after she changed to her 2nd outfit (which was a gorgeous beautiful black sheer Victorian inspired gown) to me was the main highlight of her set which were A Song for XX , Memorial address & Love song .

I never would have thought Ayumi chose to sing A Song for XX because this song was 1 of the very 1st few songs I heard of her when I began listening to her almost 10 years ago . Even up to now , the song still never fails to stuck a chord in me , lyrics wise .

Likewise , the same thing goes for Memorial address & Love song , especially Love song as the translated lyrics in English were flashed onscreen when she sang it (with her singing it Acapella in the 1st 1/2 of the song) which was another highlight .

Ayumi's dancers & her band members also have quite a loyal following . And seriously , the way Yo-chan played his guitar was just spell blinding it was just insane noting just how versatile in the way he strutted his stuff onstage .

After Ayumi's 2nd outfit change to the ayumi hamasaki 2014 SUMMER T-shirt , she did Lelio which was really fun . That was followed by You & Me + a SURREAL ~ evolution ~ SURREAL medley .

SURREAL & evolution are still evergreen gems from Ayumi's extensive discography + sure they've been overdone/sung to death but the songs are still classics from her . As for You & Me , it was a real crowd pleaser .

The next surprise Ayumi had was when she sang the 'last' song of her set which was how beautiful you are & before she sang it , she thanked everyone in fluent English for coming + also in that she conveyed a message to all fans present in which she said everyone is beautiful .

Just about she was about to finish singing how beautiful you are , silver strings were released from the top (that unfortunately didn't had any signatures , let alone Ayumi +_+) & after that , everyone all went backstage .

Naturally or not , everyone all started chanting for Ayumi to come back to do an encore in which she didn't disappoint in closing off her set (once & for all) with another evergreen number of her which was Boys & Girls .

Around this time when she did Boys & Girls , she went quite close to the audience who were in the 1st 2 rows & things got quite crazy for a while .

But all good things have to come to an end & finally after close to 4 hours+ , a-nation Singapore concluded at 9.10pm+ .

====

Wow what can I say ? the 1st a-nation Singapore was quite something + after 12 long years , I finally got to see Ayumi Hamasaki live in concert in my home turf at such a close proximity range !

I will say this on behalf of all the Singaporean fans of her in that after such a long time , for her to finally perform in Singapore was truly a dream come true + the fact that I was 6 rows away from her onstage , it was a very surreal feeling .

I wouldn't deny that I was star stuck when I finally got to see Ayumi so upclose & personal + that what I've experienced was literally a once in a lifetime chance because I know I wouldn't be able to experience the same thing again if I fly to Japan to see Ayumi perform as there's no way she would again perform in such a small/intimate concert venue like MASTERCARD THEATRES .

That said , with this being the 1st a-nation Singapore , I hope avex can iron out some fine line details in that should a-nation Singapore returns back next year , please let it be held in the Padang in order to have that whole outdoor concert feeling .

Also , if there's another issue I want to highlight is that I wished that the artistes that performed would have did a bit of MC for their sets as it felt as though it's solely just songs they did but no interaction with fans .

As for Ayumi's setlist , I was hoping she would have done BLUE BIRD , MY ALL and/or Humming 7/4 . I think the song that I was surprised she didn't do in which I thought she might do was Merry-go-round as I assumed m-flo's Verbal would joined her onstage after m-flo's set finished but guess not :p

All in all , wow what an absolutely amazing once in a lifetime experience & Ayumi , thank you so much for finally gracing your presence in Singapore after so long . You were so great , a real trooper + you really deserved to be known as the Empress Of JPop .

And despite all the whatever nonsense that has been written about her , Ayumi really delivered a hell lot of a wonderful performance . Her vocals for her set were quite flawless from start til finish + I could see that she was genuinely happy to do what she does best which was to give her fans a great performance onstage .

Ayumi , please come back to Singapore soon & next time if you do , solo concert please ! *hint avex hint*

freedreamer 19th October 2014 02:37 AM

Love your ending Karen!! We waited for so long and it was so worth it :D
to add, I felt ayu's voice was slightly hoarse/tired by the time it was how beautiful you are, I think she really gave it her all during the whole concert ><

waterballoon 19th October 2014 03:13 AM

shitttttttt Now I REALLY regret not going

Bigtop 19th October 2014 04:59 AM

Man, what a feeling...a very different experience compared to those typical big-stage Ayu concerts! When was the last time she had a big performance in such a stage like this!? Remember that TA Limited live early last decade?

It depends but generally photography and video tapping are not allowed . Only if the organisers state upfront then it is different

The JPop concerts I went all prohibit it . Only time when it was allowed was when flumpool came to Singapore for the 1st time and they told everyone onstage to take all the photos and video clips they want

Thanks and yeah her voice was quite husky but at least it showed that she was not lip synching . Especially the last part where she took out both her ear pieces while feeling the crowd

I forgot to say that I loved it when she sang the 1st 1/2 of Love song acapella which was just wow

Omg you didnt ? You should have as it was once in a lifetime chance to see her so upclose . I don't think there will be any other chances to see her in such close range . The feeling is so different as compared to the arenas and/or hall tour venues , let alone Yoyogi

ayu_fantasy 19th October 2014 06:11 AM

Omg!!! Pls tell me when she's leaving singapore! Anyone knows??

PEARL 19th October 2014 07:18 AM

boys & girls was real fun!!!

Kid_Dream 19th October 2014 07:39 AM

Actually I would prefer them to hold it at MBS Theatres. Yes it might be small but at least it's a more intimate venue and we can see them up close. Plus it's easier to fill up a smaller venue. Hoping that the success of this concert will encourage Avex to bring A Nation back to Singapore next year. And Ayu's SOLO Concert! I'm still having withdrawal symptoms. Ayu's appearing in my head when I close my eyes.

Minttulatte 19th October 2014 11:05 AM

Not sure about being broadcast on TV but I have a feeling a-nation Singapore might get released in DVD/Blu-ray as I saw cameras that recorded the event when I was there

Ayu had a lot more cameras installed before she began her set so fingers crossed x)

I'm afraid these cameras were only for big screen that was installed on stage, so don't get your hopes too high.

They didn't release it last year, so maybe not even Japanese one either.

AyUmIXx 20th October 2014 01:58 AM

probably, it'll just for part of the footage of a-nation official DVD/BR when released later.

anw, i was surprised ayu didn't sing FTL and specially merry-go-round since mflo was there! i wonder why too! before i was so convinced that MGR would be performed. but nope haha.
i really like the setlist.. it was amazing!
a song for xx - memorial address - love song ===> EPICCCCCCCC!!
her outfit on that part is also my favorite and didn't expect that she would wear a quite grand dress coz usually she never were really a gown for anation. and i knew it that she would perform memorial address coz that's her trademark outfit whenever she performs that song.

i hope next year she'll come back again for if not, full concert but a-nation but the same venue, and i really wanna try to get the front seat. i envied most of my friends who sat at the front seats. it was so freaking close up!

freedreamer 20th October 2014 09:54 AM

OMG! I lost my camera in one of the toilets in Marina Bay Sands! Someone stole it!!! It was just 20 days old and it was a birthday gift from my boyfriend... but flying from Philippines to Singapore was all worth it because of Ayumi.

I was literally crying from mix emotions!

Yes~ i was not expecting a concert-ish outfit for a-nation and that was just plain gorgeous!!! i am very thankful that she decided to bring in her whole entourage in; it made me feel so special :love

i can't decide if i will want her back in the same hall or in a bigger one like indoor stadium. the front row seats are soooooo freaking close to the stage but ayu deserves a much bigger stage! :luv2:luv2:luv2

I'm speechless when I saw Ayumi in front of my eyes...my first time...so close!! Thanks to tiffany for helping to get the ticket. She's like my fairy god mother who make my wish come true :)

i was there too, got the ticket one hour before the show. to be honest, my love for ayu kinda died down around party queen so i was contemplating whether or not to go.

im glad i went, got to see her upclose and i was so surprised by her vocal performance during ASXX~Memorial Address~Love Song (gosh all my favorite songs).
it was also the first time i heard XOXO and Lelio and i was in love with how these songs kinda 'energize' the whole night.
very memorable night for me, as a fan since loveappears.

needless to say i started listening to her again after that night (trying to collect all the cds i missed) :D

i love you Ayu!

I was literally crying from mix emotions!

Did you report to the security at mbs? Maybe they can check the cctv. And if you've bought travel insurance, make a police report to make claim.

i have to admit, i kind of stopped following her around the same period (though i still collected her concert dvds coz her tours are always amazing). I was still thoroughly excited when i know she was going to come and camped in front of the computer to book the tickets when they went on sale.

the whole experience was surreal. like a childhood dream come true. and i am back catching up on all that i have missed. glad to be back in the ayu family, and in time for teamayu global~

i actually didn't even know about the a+nation concert until i saw the advertisement in a random website on Friday 17th October. i then went into panic mode :woohoo:, trying to look for a ticket.
got an offer at 4 PM on 18th October but it wasn't until 6 PM that i finally decided that OMG WHAT AM I THINKING, I MUST GO SEE AYU!!

as i mentioned earlier, it was the first time i heard XOXO and Lelio. I was curious about the songs so the first thing i did was to type "AHSFORUM" in the google search box :nva glad to be back after few years of hiatus. and seeing all the veterans are still here. :luv2

09. SURREAL~evolution~SURREAL

MBS said they cant release CCTV footage which is quite disappointing. I have no travel insurance. Really sad but when I watched Ayu I totally forgot about my camera already HAHA

i keep getting goosebumps ><

TeamAyu2004 23rd October 2014 03:07 PM

I really hope they release this on DVD!!!

KarenPang 23rd October 2014 03:10 PM

I think a-nation Singapore might get released in a DVD/Blu-ray cos when I was there , there were cameras at the left & right sides of the stage

Before ayumi finally came out to perform & when they were setting up the stage for her , suddenly there were even more cameras than ever

Gustavopc 23rd October 2014 03:21 PM

Probably they'll release both Singapore and Taiwan concerts, and I hope Kuu and ayu get (almost) all of their performances included :D

saywindies 23rd October 2014 03:21 PM

thanks for the audio recording!!!

^^^
i was at a relatively front seat down at first floor and i must say the crowd didn't just went totally excited, they went mad. everyone was just jumping and waving (no neat japanese style of lightstick waving) and screaming like no end when ayu first appeared. and she had so much love that night; fans were shouting ayu at every interval they can find. more than just goosebumps for me~ i feel like crying~

^^
i highly doubt a full dvd for a-nation singapore, but am crossing my fingers for a short clip for behind the scenes or for the segment for overseas (taiwan & singapore) since its the first year a-nation is going overseas. can't wait~

KarenPang 23rd October 2014 05:13 PM

If avex is smart , they should release a DVD/Blu-ray from a-nation Taiwan + a-nation Singapore as I'm sure a lot of people will buy it especially since this's the 1st time the a-nation concept took place outside of Japan

Also , the overall atmosphere & ambiance from both a-nation Taiwan + a-nation Singapore is very different compared to what Japan had

I will definitely buy it no doubt about it

KarenPang 24th October 2014 09:44 AM

a-nation Singapore video snippets

Man still can't believe this took place last weekend >____<

Jwiz 24th October 2014 04:32 PM

Im a huge fan of her outfits and look @ a-nation (no heavy makeups and all) <3

There's a video on dailymotion showing ayu's performances exclusive from TA :D

Can you post the link ?

douggn 10th November 2014 11:27 PM

Iv looked for the link I cant find it :( , But I have the real clip with her raw vocals from xin-msn. Ill upload that today. Ill just get rid of the others before her part. Been meaning to get around to upload it + her English interview, though I thought someone else would have uploaded them ages ago. I guess the main ayu up-loaders are no longer with us from years ago, when you only had like a 5 mins gap to uplode something before someone else did. Or maybe it the lack of thanks which has driven the up-loaders away. Some of the stuff I upload in the past gets like 4 thanks and 100+ downloads

Spoiler:
http://s13.postimg.org/8xw399jqv/ayu...mp4_thumbs.jpg
though I think I will upload the whole clip, it didn't really convert well. The full clip is a bit over 300MB

freedreamer 11th November 2014 02:16 AM

Here u guys go!!
i think its SLIGHTLY edited to make her vocals clearer

Thanks so much :luv2 Though the closest I could find was Asian fans complaining saying this is Private and only for TA members, I think your right with the vocal edits, it sounds a little more echo effect has been added. Though judging by the frame rate, it looks like it was recorded with one of those pc screen capture programs

maxikot 11th November 2014 09:05 PM

Have you heard this live from the concert? She does great Lelio.
