I love how long they are able to make her look with angles and clothing. We all know Kuu has turnip legs, but they look so hot on the cover.

Walk of My Life (the song) has really grown on me. I didn't think much at all the first couple of listens. I think it could do with an extra minute on it though (same goes for Money In My Bag)

Does anyone know if Arrow has started airing in Japan yet and how it's doing? I'm a fan and thought it was cool that WOML was chosen as the ending theme. Not that the tie-in will do much for Kuu though.

My copy of WALK OF MY LIFE has arrived; and so I popped it in and finally gave this album a listen.

I'm honestly pretty underwhelmed. It's not an awful album by any means, but it does sound kind of rushed. No song stuck out and grabbed me by my weave other than the introduction/interlude (just like Bon Voyage lmao). But for now, Bon Voyage > WALK OF MY LIFE. On Your Side and U KNOW are flawless.

EDIT: Okay, I kind of dig WALK OF MY LIFE (the song) but "I am finally flee" ?? lol

EDIT2: Now I know why I didn't like this album all that much, it's a chore to listen to. This doesn't really "feel" like a Kuu album at all, if I'm gonna be honest.

^Yup, I'll be taking some songs away from this album (I am surprisingly listening to the album as I type this) but look forward to her next album release!

It feels a bit filler and "this'll do" in places.

A bit late, but I stopped just now to watch her performance at MUSIC FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE from last year and she looked soooooo damn good, and she was dancing all the time! Loving it!

I know. A lot of people I talk to have been saying how well her English has improved and how well she pronounced the words during the live performance of the song, and I'm just sitting here like????????????

Tbh I feel the same about the English in the song. I had no fucking idea what she was saying. Sometimes I dont even understand her Japanese but that's another story for another day.

^Why do people even say she's improved? She has not. It's the same thing year after year. She records a song that has generally good pronunciation, and everyone claims how much her English has improved and then she releases a song with English lyrics that ends up sounding like a trainwreck (Lay down, Feel, etc.) and it just "disillusions" everyone. Then a year later when she's onto her next album it starts all over again.

I gave the album another try and it's slowly growing onto me. Gimme U is really fun, and House Party is awful in a good way lol. I think that's the best way to describe this album. Horrible, but a lot of fun.

Just a reminder that Kuu is a Japanese singer singing for a Japanese audience, pronunciating English properly is the least of her worries. The same for Namie. She will pronounce it fine when she feels like, but it isn't like doing it bad will lower her sales or make her (Japanese) fans cringe their teeth :P

I guess you should just watch the acoustic live performance of the song to make your own impression. :laugh

With Namie though she seems to try to cater to a wider international audience. She's as well very inconsistent with her English, but from all the japanese artists she probably should be the one getting better, if she wants to continue her trend and really go international.
With the rest of the artists, it really doesn't matter, lol.
And if I think about it... even Ayu is speaking English better than she's singing it in her songs. Sometimes it even sounds she is singing the English in a more japanese way intentionally.

"KODA KUMI 15TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION ～WALK OF MY LIFE～SINCE 2000" will be running at Roppongi Hills umu [their event space] for 13 days (April 28th ~ May 10th).

• They will be selling goods that are limited to the exhibition, as well as tour goods and CDs.
• Admission is ¥1500, and playroom members can get a coupon for ¥200 off.
• They will have a collection of her tour outfits (presumably going all the way back to 2000, given the name of the exhibit).
• Something is mentioned about a kind of puzzle game.
• Fanclub members will get to access a special 'photoshoot space' (not unlike the thing with the dice at Ayu's AT venues).
• There will also be special "Kuu-produced" takoyaki and sweets~
• something that sounds like a purikura booth might also be there?

I feel like she has the potential to have really good pronunciation, if she only had a coach or something lol. Because a lot of the time her Engrish sounds like it stems flat-out from not knowing how something should be pronounced, not from an inability to actually form the sounds.

Well, imo, Kuu's English isn't really that bad compared to some other singers who try to sing in the language and ends up sounding like aliens language instead. :D

As for the exhibition news, I think the idea is nice. It would be nice to go myself tho.

I bet avex is producing the goodies in a one-time only bunch and if there's anything left after the exhibition they'll put it on mu-mo and make money of the remaining's. I'd do it.

I really doubt she'll be at the Japan event on backstage BUT, even if we don't have information we usually have for Ayu each time, we can show to her husband we love her and we would love she come too!

I think I rememeber that during 4 hot wave era she gave a lot of interviews, and she did mention in a couple of them that she was deeply in love with a 'normal' usual person starting 2004 till Best -second session-, and then they broke, I guess after the Best-second session- sucess and due to her busy schedule at that time? at that time I was in Honeyflash forum, and one person there brought up the pics of Kuu and truck driver and said it was a truck driver. so...then she mentioned her weight loss story in one of Koda Gumis magazines in the article about her keeping fit and keeping her weight, because naturally she's plumpy so she has to keep the diet. the article had comparisons of her weight during different eras, starting TAKE BACK and then going till the latest release (don't rememver which). and for 4 hot wave she wrote about losing too much weight due to the hurtful heartbreak she had after dating a person, as she mentioned, dating a person for quite a long period.
Kuu always said she's always in love, lol. She said it during Deja Vu press conference too,at that time she broke up with Sakai tho, supposedly. many people said she uses that phrase just to tell journalists off her personal life :).I guess there are some partners we don't know about it :D
