the halloween theme stage is so cute!!

The girl is a powerhouse. It surprises me just how active she still is, especially considering how long and how hard she's been going at it. Like it makes me feel like the laziest person in the world, especially on those days I spend binge-watching netflix and then come onto here and see an announcement like "Namie Amuro has new single launch, new album with 10 PV's, new 10,000 date tour, 3000 magazine shoots where she makes at least two different faces, and a blu-ray/dvd release of her previous concert with some extras including: Namie Amuro goes to Universal Studios Japan and gets some Elmo glasses and chills with Big Bird." Then I go to bed and eat pancakes in the morning and wonder why my bills aren't getting paid. :laugh Girl knows how to work. For sure.

^ I feel the exact same way...that girl definitely found the fountain of youth and isn't sharing for nothing. Makes me question all my life choices.

This sushi place in my town has a constant Namie Amuro playlist going lol it's amazing. Got to hear mint finally, and they're playing ROCK U, Revolution, TSUKI, etc.

^ MFTE. Well I mean, Best Fiction 2 does seem like it's the more reasonable release at this point.

I admit, I fell out of interest with Namie after _genic. It was just really dull to me. Hell, I liked Ballada better than that. I know she's been releasing more singles, so I've been meaning to listen to them (since she can't drive me away for long lol).

I have to confess, the post that was quoted in the first post in this thread kinda mirrors how I think. I miss her edgier look/style, and I like her hip-pop stuff more than just straight up pop. She can still produce really solid pop songs, however, and I think it's a smart step for her career (longevity VS trends), but I can still mourn the loss.

Still, like I said, she can't keep me away for long lol I'll always be willing to listen to her. She's just too good to ignore.

I always see people claiming _genic was generic, a mess, blablabla, but it`s her best album since her last full japanese one, IMHO. maybe I`m more on the generic side of music after all lol

I much prefer _Genic to Feel which may be a bit controversial!

The next best album wouldn't be called Best Fiction 2..

It will be named something else...

I love Feel. I love it now as much as when I bought the album... what? Three years ago now? Every song (minus Let Me Let You Go) is on my workout playlist and when Hands On Me comes on, better watch out cause Imma work it. :laugh The only songs from _genic I got on there is Golden Touch and Space Invader (they're too fun to ignore).

But that's the fun thing about Namie. She has so many different styles of Pop/Hip-pop/whateveryouwannacallit-type of pop that there's a little bit for everyone.

Btw -- speaking of all her different styles. I just listened to Past<Future and PLAY, which I haven't done in a long time, and Holy Macaroni I forgot how much I loved those albums.

For me it's the opposite, I like almost the whole _genic and I don't care at all about Feel.

Feel sounds really generic to me, while _genic is a very fun album.

_genic is very nice but not so good, I don't listen to it very often, except for Stranger.

Lol, I don't like FEEL and _genic much, just kept two songs of both. Prefer Uncontrolled and Past<Future.

_genic was disappointing mostly, to me, because I really liked the previews and thought it'd be like Feel 2 with really fun, really strong dance tracks. But then the album came out and the songs just repeat themselves from beginning to end (I forgot to say I do love her version of what I did for love) and though I really like the idea they had with the chrome app for Anything, still couldn't make me like the song. And of course the adorable mv for Golden Touch. It was like they put more effort into finding cool ideas to promote than the album than the album itself.

^ I just find the whole album to be a mess. Though I do agree with you that those songs should be replaced with their originals. Maybe if they did I wouldn't dislike it so much. Hot Girls, In the Spotlight (Tokyo), Sit! Stay! Wait! Down!, Singing "Yeah Oh", Go Round 'N Round 'N Round, Hot Girls (I'm putting it twice because of how much I hate that song.) I pretty much dislike the entire album minus Love Story, Get Myself Back and Let's Go.

Just throwing it out there that Love Story is probably one of her best ballads IMO. It's that song that saves me from throwing Uncontrolled out of my mind completely.

But, like I said in an earlier post, she has so many different sounds of pop/hip hop/whatever that if you're into this genre and don't like one album, you're bound to like another.

I love Uncontrolled. It's a really strong album with strong singles and some of my favourite album tracks of her, but even the album versions of the single songs don't bother me, they're nice. The only bad song on it is Hot Girls. Totally can't stand that song.

Out of Namie's recent studio albums , Uncontrolled is actually my least favourite as I feel that the single songs overshadow the album tracks to a certain extent

I find myself listening to _genic a lot less than FEEL even though I generally like both releases

PAST < FUTURE was a very slick release while PLAY is still tops . I still have great special memories towards PLAY as it was the 1st Namie album I bought/listened where I kept on overplaying Hide & Seek non stop

Uncontrolled is one of my least favorite albums from her and it's weird because individually there are some awesome tracks on there. But I didn't like the new versions of the singles and Hot Girls, Sit stay etc., let's go, were just so-so.

PLAY I also feel in general is just so-so and overall a bit overrated. For Post 2007 albums, I rank them Feel>P/F>>>>_genic>>PLAY>>>>>>>>Uncontrolled.

I'd have to say that the one Namie album I saw the most copies of in all resale stores in Japan was Uncontrolled. I was tempted to say the least but other than Naked and Yeah-oh I really hate that album lol

I adore PAST/FUTURE it's a shame COPY THAT wasn't a single.

I don't listen to Uncontrolled anymore, and I do think it was a bad choice rearranging the singles. Break It for instance lost a lot of its punch from the single version.

But well, Break It and Go Round are still on my playlist.

that's because PLAY is quite dated :laugh it was released nearly 10 years ago. But, to me, it still holds up as one of her best albums. I still listen to every track minus Should I Love Him and Hello (I used to love that song but I listened to it too much and now can't stand the sound of WAIT FOR THE BEEP AND DO YOUR THING. Ugh.) I mean, the fact she still performs half these songs at concerts says a lot. Funky Town. Hide & Seek. Top Secret. Violet Sauce. I remember Full Moon at a more recent one though I can't remember which. I personally really wish she'd perform Baby Don't Cry more. When was the last time she performed that? O.o

Actually Past<Future and Uncontrolled are my favourite albums by her. A golden era for me. Before and after I just like certain songs from albums and singles.

PLAYs only weak point to me is Step with it tbqh
Its still an timeless album...I rather call it old school than dated, but she does a good thing keeping them updated in her lives.

Uncontrolled was a weird album but I enjoy it. Get Myself Back is one of my favorite Namie songs. FEEL is still the best though.

After seeing that lyric video that someone posted earlier with a much higher quality of Fighter, I actually need that song in my life. I know a bunch of people probably hate it (will hate it) but it's already my guilty pleasure and I neeeeeeeeeed it!!!!

My favorite is also PLAY and a close second is QoHP <3 then there's Style in between 2 and 3rd (P<F) because that album is too good to be in the third place lol

She's been getting much better at putting emotions into her ballads. I listen to her older ones like I Will or Never End and, yeah, there's some emotion but it definitely feels like 'Oh. I must sing a sad song sadly and so I will sing a sad song sadly.' But now I actually feel her actually feeling something when singing ballads. Which is great. I love how 20+ years in the business and she's still improving.

That's Namie for you though. xD Getting better, looking younger, making me feel lazy and old even though I'm only 23.

^you think so? I personaly think I HAVE NEVER SEEN and especially I WILL are among her bets songs, heck among the best japanese ballads, for me.

Oh those are great songs for sure, especially I WILL, I just don't get that emotion from it that I think she could bring to it nowadays. Seeing that and Never End performed live during her Live Style 2014, for example, was amazing. I want those emotions and strength she portrayed there in the actual release now. Since she's matured so much and her voice has gotten much stronger, much more controlled, I think she's become a lot more comfortable as an artist/performer. Since we know how shy she can be. (It still amazes me how such a huge superstar like Namie could be so freaking shy xD It's uncanny but adorable.) Seeing those songs performed live during her Live Style 2014, for example, was amazing. I want those emotions and strength in the actual release now.

But I've forgotten, besides Can You Celebrate, what were the songs she rerecorded for Ballada? I need to do comparisons now. :laugh

P<F is the first Namie album that I really got into after I randomly bought Best Fiction in Japan. Before that I didn't really know how Namie was besides her two Inuyasha songs. So that's definitely my favourite, followed by Uncontrolled (Get Myself Back is one of my favourite songs ever) then probably FEEL. But Namie just keeps going up and up so there's been no "down times" for me since I got into her.

^ They might be. Kumi's latest tour had some issues like that, and they reschedule for another date to keep the same number of dates overall (to match the number of singles that she has). It might be the same case for Namie's tour.

The outfits are pretty much the same, as always. The one with the neon colors is cute tho!

As for the Dear Diary PV: Beautiful, but gosh, the songs is boring as hell.
