couple-
noun: couple; plural noun: couples
1.
two individuals of the same sort considered together.
"a couple of girls were playing marbles"
synonyms: pair, duo, twosome, two; More
informal
an indefinite small number.
"he hoped she'd be better in a couple of days"
synonyms: some, a few, a handful of, one or two
"I have a couple of things to do"

That is what google says about the term "couple".:roflmao
To me, when someone says a "couple" years, it means at least 2 years. Not an exact time but a small amount.

I gave the dictionary definition so that it would put an end to the debate.:laugh

thinkingoutloud89 9th March 2017 08:54 AM

so what is she doing atm? Its kinda wird not to have a new album/song by now, although I also don't need her to rush

truehappiness 9th March 2017 11:06 AM

She is preparing for the new tour. I assume she probably has music to record too.

YUKARI 9th March 2017 03:05 PM

I need still alone to be performed!!! Why, oh why is it forgotten like this? Why she never did it live :(

Also I'd love to see Trust, SIGNAL, Hana, RAINBOW, full version of SURREAL without evolution, monochrome, And then, too late :heart

mizuki-7 9th March 2017 05:47 PM

Strangely she has not yet posted pictures of her rehearsing for this upcoming tour ... I really wonder when it will start ?

A piano version of monochrome would be awesome! Along the lines of Power of music.

still alone would be fantastic!!!

pedronekoi 9th March 2017 07:50 PM

Probably this tour will start around June... It's taking so long to announce the dates.

Hi guys, do you know how many tickets I can buy for the tour being a TeamAyu member?

anddddd she NEEDS TO PERFORM ever free, but not just playing the song and have dancers for the song during the tour.

We really want to see her perform this song.

truehappiness 9th March 2017 10:18 PM

Given the personal reasons for making ever free, I don't think she'll actually perform it any time soon if she's been avoiding it for this long since it was released.

EndOfTheWorld 9th March 2017 10:51 PM

It's pointless to stress over the tour dates. She will release more details sooner or later. It's normal that things will be a little different for 2017/2018 because of the anniversary plans. She must be planning something special and so we have to just sit tight and wait. Things will be out of the ordinary this year. It looks like Ayu might be feeling more ambitious than any of her previous anniversaries.:yes:think
Still alone is one of my all time loved songs, but I don't know how that song would sound vocally. I don't know if Ayu could sing it now. But I guess if she can still do kanariya she can sing any song.:laugh

Why didn't you show unedited ASFXX performance from last year's Music Station for example?

they can fix the pitch and sound, but they cannot edit her technique, the strength of the vocals, vibrato etc, stuff, that's recognizable to only someone who knows what they are looking for. If a singer has 0 training in vocals, you can edit the shit out of it and it will still sound like someone who was never trained to know what they are doing to someone who knows how it all works.
The random performances are not as easy to come across as you think they are. Plus i don't keep a list of performances that are purely unedited just laying around somewhere. I had to even dig for the MA one a bit before i finally found a working link.

kotora 10th March 2017 03:16 AM

omg ...

I think ayu would need a tour for someone who didn't like her current voice.

This is true.

It is purely a myth that Ayu's performances are edited with some sort of magic program or filter or processing. Yes there are technologies that allow you to manipulate vocals but they always leave behind some kind of evidence. Just like some of Ayu's past releases that have a robotic sound. They definitely did not have anything like that many years ago back when Ayu was a new artist. A performance from years ago will most likely be very minimally edited.
The reason that the 1st broadcast of Ayu's tours sound different compared to the re-edit and final DVD release is a few possibilities. There is only so much that can be done.
That being said, mixing plays a huge role in live recordings. After the first broadcast they are able to fine tune the mixing to make both the vocals and music sound better. It can really make a difference. The kanariya performance is a great example. It sounded much better after they reduced the distortion on her vocals.
The final DVD release may have additional mixing done if needed. They also may scrap certain vocal performances completely. Replacing them with vocals from another day that sound better or have the artist go into the studio to record a live performance of the song. They do what they can to then make the lips in sync.
They can also manipulate the vocals with pitch correction and things like that but it usually introduces artifacts or has very obvious robotic vocals.
Ayu's vocals for the most part, are what they are. Even edited vocals are not SO edited to where they aren't real anymore.
None of us truly know the facts of what goes on behind the scenes with Ayu's live performances.

jbrat2219 10th March 2017 04:19 AM

When I heard ayu sing live during MIJ, she sounded just fine. I'm not sure what magical voice she had back in the day that people yearn for so much but in my opinion she was always hit or miss.

YUKARI 10th March 2017 05:01 AM

I don't think I need ever free. She used it for 2 different tours which I happened to attend so I'm ok with it :laugh

But still alone is such a gem, it must receive attention someday!

Perhaps they have sent it to the ex-TA members as well...I don't know. It doesn't make sense to spam the members which have recently reviewed their membership, but then again they don't seem to be the smartest of people xD

hayasaki 13th March 2017 02:10 AM

Are they gonna release the schedule of the tour today? I wonder if its going to be purely a hall tour and also if this will include some arena type shows? I'm quite unsure about what they meant about "hall" in this because some of her past arena tour venues are considered halls too like here in NGO.

The announcement said that it's going to be a mixture of arenas and halls.

Zeke. 13th March 2017 03:27 AM

Yeah, it probably sounded better because you couldn't hear how truly faulty it was with the ambiance and inability to capture artificacts clearly through the phone.

Any guesses on how long this tour will run to? I just joined TA but anticipate I might not be in Tokyo until early September.

Usually ticket lottery starts 4-7 days after the deadline for joining TA. If they decide to announce tour dates simultaneously with first lottery's start, we might not know dates this week either or we will find out only on Friday. Well, that would be funny.

Yoake 13th March 2017 10:43 PM

The discussion is interesting but out of topic guys. I moved it in the Ayu ~Anything Goes~ Thread and I encourage you to continue it there.

It's too late this year for any April dates I think. Probably the tour will start in May sometime.

Aderianu 15th March 2017 10:50 AM

for me it looks like they announced that tour will have 60 dates, but didn't find enough venues yet
so this delay is because something went wrong %)

JEWELian 15th March 2017 11:28 AM

most likely, the majority of the dates will be hall dates (hence the extended run of 2-3x shows than her usual tours), with arena stops probably limited to the major metro areas (fukuoka, osaka, nagoya and tokyo).

a lot of other artists run extensive hall tours year-round and theirs are usually locked in well in advance (kuu's 2017 tour which starts april 8 for example and all dates were announced beginning december 2016)

so it's probable they're having a hard time scheduling the halls if it was a late decision into this year's tour's planning.

otherwise, there might be a delay as the tickets will go on sale quite soon (1 month ish) before the actual shows if she starts with halls because they're likely to sell out faster due to the more limited than usual capacity. (and i think most likely she'll start with halls and move into arenas as a ~finale~ but could go either way i guess). so it's possible if dates are announced later this week the tour could still start in may.

I don't expect Ayu to start sooner than the summer. I even guess she will start after a'nation and that this tour will also continue in 2018.

Venues could be the issue. I just prefer to hope they are working on some insane sets, props and costumes.

I hardly doubt they will begin after a-nation, if she is starting rehearsals now.

Though it is pretty common that rehearsals could take long. Maybe this tour will smash all our expectations.

!Lawi! 17th March 2017 01:45 AM

Im utterly convinced the tour is going to start in July. It's a simple reasoning: I've always had bad luck with Ayu.
Waited for her for hours outside her hotel in Paris... missed her.
Booked tickets to see her in London... missed her.
Went twice to japan... never during tour dates.

Now I'm going to live in Tokyo until June, and I was so sure I'd finally see her live, but I'm honestly starting to believe it's going to be her first late tour in years now.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 17th March 2017 02:02 AM

Omg that sounds horrible. I hope you get the chance to see her live!

truehappiness 17th March 2017 05:58 AM

So it really is tour 2017-2018, one year long tour... Having to wait for another week and partial announcement is frustrating. I guess I'll have to accept that she will skip CDL this time. i think first 15 dates are arenas in biggest cities. Let's see.

It's beyond frustrating. I wonder though - if those are 15 dates or 15 cities...If it's 15 dates spread throughout 2 months - that sucks!

Yep, exactly what I suspected. The tour will run over next year and I'm guessing with the final date being on her debut anniversary.

I can't see her doing another tour soon after her upcoming one ends in spring 2018. TeamAyu tour in autumn is a possibility though. I have a feeling that the set-list will change dramatically for the final.

Also think that, as 8th April is a sunday. And with Tour ending in Spring it screams for finale on that day.
But that also means it will be hard to get tickets for that date.

If the tour ends that late then there won't be a new tour in 2018.

It's too late to register for TA now to buy tickets for this tour. And we'd have to buy the tickets 1 year in advance or something.

Does the lottery start as soon as the dates are announced? If so, what time does it usually start? I'm assuming we'll find out in a TA email day of but I'd like to know sooner if I have to set my alarm mad early haha

Lottery is not first come first served. It has a fixed timeframe were you can enter.

Usually it takes some time to open the lottery. Is not in the same day they announce the dates.

Thank you, guys! That helps a lot during this time of uncertainty with this tour haha. I'm glad it's not first come first serve, that would be such a mess @_@

She posted that old image though that was formerly deleted saying that they will be revealed tomorrow. Prior to that, she had a post last week saying "Next Friday" is when dates were coming.

because they have to use all the footage from this cdl over and over again for upcoming tour teaser/trailer/spot, and this is long tour, we shall expected SPOT ver.100 :D
