Well, I can't imagine that... I guess she has lots of fans, but she's not THAT big overseas to fill up a whole olympic stadium! But I wish she did stadium tours in Japan more often haha, I'm kinda bored of so many arena tours

LOL well it doesn't matter if there's not enough fans in china because all her fans from other countries will flock to beijing? If she really can she will make headlines all around the world for days, and she will also have to recruit many many more dancers. Ayu in the middle of bird nest singing?..i would like to see that =]

minkAYuko 27th August 2008 05:00 PM

I see, thanks! I hope she makes it happen in the future :D

prussian blue 27th August 2008 05:01 PM

thx to the article kiseki! the descripion is good! but did they wrote (d)lma wrongly?

Ayumi27 27th August 2008 05:18 PM

I was thinking about the opening... I've never watch it, so how she appears on stage and starts Talkin' 2 Myself??? I hope not an Ourselves or Evolution AT2007 opening

MissElin_ 27th August 2008 06:40 PM

The opening isnt on any public vid yet so the only ones to know how the opening was, is those who was there.

Yes, but i thought someone who went had told it somewhere in the forum.
Anyway, it must have been amazing

Ayu is doing a concert tomorrow and the day after in HK, so remember to post here if you have any stories / news / photos. I will repost any photos on the main page so PLEASE use ImageShack.

I am not sure what the policy is there, but in Yoyogi they were extremely strict about prohibiting photography inside.

alternarist 20th September 2008 06:45 AM

can i request that the pics/setlist/information about AT2008 overseas stop be made in a separate thread? it's neater i guess..

But no issues if no one agrees.. :)

The beginning of the concert starts with reBiRTH playing while a video is shown of all her covers, and then they come together to form Ayu's logo, which is followed by a video that goes along with an extended version of The Judgement Day. The video shows Ayu with a massive steering wheel from a ship, and the video ends on a close-up of her feet as she walks down a flight of stairs. The lights go out, save for two white spotlights shining up from the floor from the back of the stage. Ayu rises up from below center stage on a platform in front of the lights (so she is in shadow, all you can see is her figure outlined) and sings the last two lines of the chorus acapella before bringing her arms out and slamming them down...when she brings them down, the band starts up, the lights go on, and pyrotechnics go off on the front of the stage (I remember that part because they were so loud I shrieked.)

And that's how it all begins. :D The extended ver. of The Judgement Day is epic. I want the DVD nowwww~

I know at Yoyogi they really didn't want people to take pictures, but I don't think they care too much as long as you don't take pictures during the concert. Before and after is fine, I think. =)

Free & Easy 20th September 2008 09:23 AM

cause i didn't see people who go to shanghai concert last year share the information about camera..

freedreamer 20th September 2008 05:05 PM

I think..her concerts oveR?

alternarist 20th September 2008 05:14 PM

i think she most probably gonna end the concert with Who.. Chinese version instead of MY ALL, which i learned the dance already.. :(

truehappiness 20th September 2008 05:17 PM

No, she can't do that. MY ALL was made for the end of this tour I think. (And like everyone watching probably wants to do the MY ALL dance.)

Who... (Chinese) will probably open the Encore segment, replacing Dearest or Voyage. She's definitely changing the setlist somehow though.. maybe even more drastically compared to AT07 since she had months to reprepare.

alternarist 20th September 2008 05:23 PM

^ of cos i wished MY ALL will be performed. I shall not make anymore assumptions haha.

waiting for someone to blog about the setlist and then u can grab those info to here! :P

Melrose 20th September 2008 05:29 PM

Isnt the concert over by now? o.o

freedreamer 20th September 2008 07:10 PM

I WANNA SEE .. wad changes!!! lol

ultracat 20th September 2008 07:36 PM

just back home from the concert...Asia-World Expo is really a long way = =

1. The setlist is exactly the same in previous, she didn't sang the Chinese version of "Who..."
2. In the beginng of "A song for xx", Ayu wrongly "started" sing the song earlier...
3. When the encore begin, Ayu immediately started the MC and later yo chan told Ayu she remember wrongly~
4. In the MC part, one dancer came out and teach the steps of "MY ALL" in mandarin

Overall it is a wonderful concert (I like mariontte most), but Ayu's voice seems a little but strange (maybe she got a cold?), she can't reach some high notes (eg.Dearest)

Also, I really doubt that her left ear was not fully deaf...since she use the earphones in both ears...

thangkhung91 20th September 2008 07:44 PM

thanks for the briefeng :) can't wait for pictures och news videoclips :)

You didn't catch the discussion about the earphones did you? She still uses both of them because it'd be impractical to just cut off the other one. It's not like she can hear anything from one of them. They probably still stick sound into the left earbud just because.

So that means I watched evolution sitting down. I feel kinda ripped off... like a really important component of an Ayu concert has been taken away from me. Doing the "Wow yeah~" fist pumping sitting down is very different from doing it standing up. The atmosphere for most of the concert was dampened because of the guards. >( Well, we make the most of it.
That sucks. I seriously wanna smack those guards.

La La 20th September 2008 08:05 PM

Jin san is so cute speaking in madarine and he speaks so well.
The MY ALL dance is really nice!

Ayu also made a mistake when singing independent

Marionette performance is so AWESOME!

4ever*ayu 20th September 2008 11:47 PM

it's a great show indeed, judging from MY ALL and Marionette videos..

ooohhhh..i'm so wanna go there..

WillofDusk 20th September 2008 11:51 PM

Marionette perf is sooo amazing O_O
And the choreography was so mesmerizing.
Everyone was completely synchronized.

Totally kick ass!

se7entheaven 21st September 2008 02:43 AM

maybe because of the vid quality cery low but i still can hear ayu sounds quite out of tune...she can even reach the Marionette 'high' notes

alternarist 21st September 2008 04:40 AM

Marionette is soooooooooooo cool!!!!!!!!!! i love it. Can see that the pink ribbon on the white dress had been changed to a blood red riboon.. :P

MY ALL.. ayu isnt wearing the beret anymore.. She still looks stunning. Does the stage has an extended runway?? or it's just like the concert last yr in HK Coliseum??

And.. changing is this LOVE? to A Song for XX... it's a nice change. But both talkin' 2 myself and is this LOVE? are rock songs. How can A Song for XX fit in?? i wanna see!!

ultracat 21st September 2008 05:55 AM

The runway is extended.
Also, Ayu really cried after HANABI...forgot to mention yesterday...

Looking forward to the 2nd show tonight :luv2

majrakun 21st September 2008 05:59 AM

Wow, Marionette 0__________0 the performance looks so awesome! I hope the DVD could show both concerts, both the Asian leg and Japan one. Or at least, show both the ASFXX and Is This Love? performances, because I love theeeem.

LOL, notice at the introduction of dancers, it's like "wooo~" and then comes ZIN and Shuya, it became "WHOOOOAAA~" XD Maro too, a little. :laugh

hiroshi_ben 21st September 2008 06:19 AM

i like the marionette performance and her vocal sounds alright

and i like how sincere and energetic she performed in MY ALL

freedreamer 21st September 2008 08:27 AM

Yea, U can hear some parts were off in Marionette....o gosh she does the puppet SO WELLLLL!!! O.O
and its like...from that video..she looks like a doll HAHAH

MY ALL is nice! I love her new look. the a-nation look. no fringe hahaha

majrakun 21st September 2008 08:55 AM

Hmm, that's a pretty loose encore shirt she's wearing. What happened to her baby tees? XD

MissElin_ 21st September 2008 08:58 AM

ThX for the links! I think MY ALL sounded pretty okay but her voice in Marionette was pretty off... >.< But the performance was very cool! Amazing!

pommy48 21st September 2008 09:00 AM

aww..no beret~
marionette's performance looks awesome! ayu is like doing the robot in very slow-mo ;)

njanjayrp 21st September 2008 10:24 AM

I liked both performances :D And so much for her lip-syncing Marionette :p

Aderianu 21st September 2008 10:56 AM

I think that she sings better than at her last concert in Japan :hmm:

ayumisrael 21st September 2008 11:01 AM

TITANIC 21st September 2008 11:32 AM

OMG OMG MARIONETTE

thanks for the link i love her performance

prussian blue 21st September 2008 11:46 AM

i like the marionette, pretty good

but i'm alittle bit dissapoint there's no big change from japan's setlist

waterballoon 21st September 2008 01:51 PM

Wow, the two videos are pretty good. I really can't wait for the DVD of this tour... and I hope they'll include A Song For XX inside some 3rd disc or something, since they'll most likely show the last tour from Japan on the DVD instead.

And she literally wept after HANABI? Well, perhaps some scars will just never heal...

~ayu-cake~ 21st September 2008 02:52 PM

Some additional stuff to add to the previous report...

Setlist (note, I'm not familiar with anything on Guilty, so that made it a little tough at times)
01) VIDEO : Ayu's space pirate ship lands
02) Talkin 2 Myself
03) A Song For xx
04) VIDEO : Dancers intro to a modified Step You instrumental [arg, she didn't sing step you]
05) Depend on You
06) Fly High
07) VIDEO : Ayu escapes from prison to what sounded to me like Is This Love
08) ?
09) ?
10) My Name is Woman
11) VIDEO : Ayu places dolls of the male dancers onto a toy carousel
12) Marionette
13) VIDEO : Conclusion to previous video where the roles reverse and Ayu is a doll
14) VIDEO : Soloing dude run up a golden staircase only for the staircase to fall apart and him to fall down. And then dance on stage. I don't know, this section made me laugh a bit.
15) HANABI (completely ruined by the stupid "plotline" if you can call it that)
16) End Roll
17) Tasking (?)
18) Surreal~evolution~Surreal
19) VIDEO : Pt. 2 of the opening video
20) Mirrorcle World
---------------
21) VIDEO : The Ayu "A" imitates famous comedians, messages to HK fans, etc
22) MC I
23) Dearest
24) Voyage
25) MC II
26) Zin teaches a dance
27) Independent
28) Boys & Girls
29) My All

Notes to add on:
This was my first Ayu concert, so...keep that in mind.

1) I'm not sure why the guards were making them sit down because EVERYONE was standing in my section. People were a little dead, and I was the only one with a glowstick, so that was kind of awkward.

2) Song for xx was easily the best song of the night, mostly because she was focusing on singing rather than acting like she was for the rest of it. I really wish they would drop all the plotlines and just have her singing, because it didn't get really really good until the encore.

3) Depend on You sounded HORRIBLE because she was basically parodying the way she used to sing, and had this really horrible nasal voice that sounded annoying more than anything...and DoY is one of my favorite songs, too...

4) My name is woman was hot.

5) I was yelling at the top of my lungs when the first music box notes for Hanabi started, but it was killed by the "plot" for that section where her boyfriend dies trying to run up a staircase to hug her and she just starts crying. Oh wait, no, he doesn't die because he just starts DANCING. And while I wanted her to focus on controlling the notes, all she was doing was looking at him longingly and "crying". Ugh.

6) End Roll. Awesome. I mean, she really couldn't hit the notes at all, but it was awesome to hear a song from LOVEppears.

7) Best set of the night goes to the Ayu ship that she comes flying in on at the end. Holy crap. It was amazing, and I can't believe they only used it for one song.

8) keikeiaznqueen talks about how the stadium was all together on the cheering for Ayu pre-encore...um...it was more like the audience tried ayu chanting about 5 times and each time it lasted for about 30 seconds and then died. It was really pathetic because no one was getting into it.

9) Language barrier made things TOUGH. The pre-encore video had the "A" imitating Ikko, Kojima Yoshi, and I can't remember who the third was was, it was like "Ok, all together!" and then it would flash their catchphrases, but no one got it so I was yelling all alone. And then I stopped.

10) MC was hilarious because Ayu kept messing up. The first MC went like this:

Ayu : *talktalktalktalktalktalktalk* Ok, and now I'm going to turn it over to our teamleader YOCCHAN!!! EVERYONE TOGETHER! 1....2....3....YOCCHAN!!!
Yocchan : ...erm...aha...hi everyone! Ayu...why don't you sing something? Something that will grab the audience by the heart *grabbing motion that also looks like a reversal motion*
Ayu : ...me? Sing something?
Yocchan : Yeah. You. Sing something. That will grab the audience by the heart. *reverse motion*
Ayu : ...what?

*They walk over to each other have a little conference. Ayu bursts out laughing and falls down*

Ayu : *recovers* Ahaha...ummmm.....my bad. I'm supposed to be singing right now. OK! The next song is DEAREST!

And then the second MC comes around...

Ayu : Um...so....ok, I know we did this already but bear with me. Now I'm going to turn it over to our team leader Yocchan! Again! Ok! Everyone, 1.....2......3.......YOCCHAN!!!

Yocchan : ...-_-

11) When Zin was teaching, him and Ayu kept getting into arguments about stuff, and it seemed really tense from the way they were talking. By this point I think they'd figured out that no one in the stadium understood Japanese, so they were saying all this stuff in Japanese that was like "Wow...I really don't think people are getting it" and stuff like that. It was pretty funny and awkward at the same time. And she was like "Erm...yeah! So...please remember that. If you can."

12) Ayu forgot the words halfway through independent and had to ask for help.

13) Boys & Girls was awkward cause no one was singing along cause no one could read the lyrics on the screen.

14) When the song for Zin's dance came up, Ayu burst out laughing.

15) When Ayu was introducing her dancers and band, everyone was cheering and then when she bowed deeply and said "Ayu deshita" NO ONE CHEERED. I think it's cause she said it quickly, so to non Japanese speaker it just sounded like random talking.

16) Her voice was absolutely off pitch for a lot of it and my ears were ringing by the end, but it was a great show and all aural pain was alleviated by the fact that she's an amazing performer and it was a lot of fun.
Report from a user at JPM named ricekid. It was his first Ayu concert, so I dunno if he knew what he was going to get..

ultracat 21st September 2008 06:39 PM

I went back from her 2nd concert in HK~!! Her voice was much better than yesterday!!:luv2

Things different from 20/9 show:
1. In the MC part, Ayu sang the acappella of "Who..." !!
2. When ZIN was teaching the steps of MY ALL, Ayu also teach and said a lot of mandarin~
3. Before the encore, the dancing A-logo shows a sentence of "今日去澳門呀" (Today go to Macau), it is not sure whether she went to Macau today or go to Macau after the concert (tomorrow?)
4. Independent was not performed today, it propably because of the acappella performance and the late start of the show (nearly 15minutes later than yesterday...started at around 8:35pm)

truehappiness 21st September 2008 06:41 PM

Ah, that's nice~

Thanks for the update! I'm gonna add your info to the first post!

I went to the Ayu concert at 09/21 and it was AMAZING !!!
MUCH MUCH MUCH better than 07 concert IMO

her singing and vibrato has improved a lot and it was just jaw-dropping altogether

thejadedangel 21st September 2008 07:35 PM

Lol I watched today. It was simply amazing since I watched her super close (I was the pink glowstick in the center near the front)

Wow, I'd feel SO cheated if I payed a huge amount of money to have good seats, and she doesn't do indepentent or leaves out an other song.

I agree with that. I hate dancing and plotlines for the ballads and most songs for that matter. They're almost ALWAYS recycled. Like, DROP them and then once in a while come up with something original. -__- I hope Shuya doesn't dance DURING HANABI. That would suck SO MUCH, but from the news clip I don't think he does.

Obviously, you don't know that circumstances can change things. They got Who.. instead of independent. IMO Who... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> independent ANY DAY.

And btw, there was once where an MC was cancelled due to an earthquake in Fukuoka during the concert.

Melrose 21st September 2008 08:36 PM

Ooooh circumstances. Let's leave out the entire encore next time because of "circumstances".

Who... is acapella and really short. Independent is much more fun at a concert imo.

I'd forgive them if they left it out because the audience wasn't into it though lol.

Yea, I agree. Singing >>>>> show. I'd rather have her sing until that Day... live and without the choreography than lip synched and with all the show.

truehappiness 21st September 2008 08:40 PM

They also started later than usual, if you didn't catch that. There might've been a strict timeframe in which Ayu had to finish the concert by, so independent had to be scrapped, or was decidedly scrapped before the concert began.

Lee_410 21st September 2008 08:44 PM

The interlude vids seem so cool!

Melrose 21st September 2008 09:16 PM

Lol wut?

Regardless of the reason (why did you start about that anyway?) I'd feel very cheated if they left a song out of the set list. Period.

truehappiness 21st September 2008 09:21 PM

Well, certain situations cause certain effects.

AT03-04 was riddled with randomness, and some songs were taken out of the setlist during certain shows and some were left in [RAINBOW, random songs in the middle of the setlist.. etc] I have no idea why, but it happens.

I don't see why it'd be a problem, since most concert goers try to stay blissfully unaware of the setlist until they see the concert for the first time in Japan. Setlists in Japan are often labelled with "NETABARE" aka SPOILER TAGS so that people don't figure it out too quickly.

Wait wut

A problem to who?

Wow, I'd feel SO cheated if I payed a huge amount of money to have good seats, and she doesn't do indepentent or leaves out an other song.
Yeah?

MW looks so good!!!

[taskin.ayu] 22nd September 2008 10:00 AM

Wow Ayu has a much cooler cap for MW now. XDD
Also, is it just me or did the outfits get more revealing for this leg of the tour? XD

Maybe Ayu will release two versions of the DVD? The JPN version and the HK version? But then again.. that means waiting another 5 months for it. D:

keikeiaznqueen 22nd September 2008 11:07 AM

lol I think I need to offer a balance to the report by the person at JPM. (Someone at JPM read my report??)

Well this sure is a pessimistic way to look at the concert. It's understandable to be disappointed because it's not what you expect it to be, but it's up to the audience in the end to make it the best they can with what there is. If nobody else knows what's going on, show them! When I stood up (being the only person standing up in an entire block is seriously awkward), the entire row behind me followed. When I did the special move in Fly high, so did the others.

Quote:

8) keikeiaznqueen talks about how the stadium was all together on the cheering for Ayu pre-encore...um...it was more like the audience tried ayu chanting about 5 times and each time it lasted for about 30 seconds and then died. It was really pathetic because no one was getting into it.
Not true! Even in Japan, the "A~A~A~Ayu" 'A' symbol chanting and clapping doesn't last all the way throughout. Neither does the shouting. It comes in tides no matter where you are. I don't know where the idea that people weren't getting into it was coming from but there were plenty of people who wanted to stand up and dance, including myself and my sister, even though through half of the concert, we weren't allowed to. So the stadium wasn't full of people with glowing sticks, nor did everyone really know what was going on all the time, but as part of the audience, you can't enjoy the show if you don't make the most out of it.

In every part of the stadium, there are a few people who actually know what they're supposed to do. At first, not many did the fist pumping for "Wow~yeah" in 'evolution', but eventually, lots of people followed the lead of those who knew it (there were actually quite a few), didn't they? From where I was, I saw the entire stadium move in unison for Fly high, Boys & Girls, and evolution.

I'd have to agree with you on the DoY comment. HOWEVER, the performance in HK was actually better than the one in Japan, because back in Japan, maybe Ayu's voice was in lesser condition, it sounded really scratched while she was trying to change her voice to make it nasal for the song. Her voice was smoother this time round and it was better suited. I'm still grateful that she sang this song.

When Ayu said "Vocal, Ayu deshita" like she does in every concert, there wasn't a cheering uproar like there was supposed to be because most people misunderstood and thought whatever she said BEFORE was "Ayu deshita". The loudest cheering came right BEFORE "Ayu deshita", and that was why the stadium was a lot quieter when it wasn't supposed to be. But don't let the language barrier dampen the mood. :)

Boys & Girls-- well, I was singing... I was probably one of the few people who did the proper B&G moves, at least in my part of the stadium. I'm sure a lot of others that I didn't see did it too. I seriously had the most fun in B&G. I don't know why you thought it was awkward when you could have sung too.

As for the off-pitchness, that's actually kinda normal. She wasn't even that offpitch most of the time, just some flat notes here and there which is kind of what is expected. She sounded better in MW than she did during the 6/29 performance. She didn't go offkey or cry during MY ALL. I think it's actually a really good concert. I came out of the stadium afterwards and couldn't stop grinning.

Haha, because she lost weight again. : D I prefer this look to the other one, but I'm afraid they'll put the Yoyogi version on the DVD where some stuff went wrong. .__.

Shuya bound with a collar..haha (I wonder if Maro was one of the decision dancers too O_O). And if this time Midoring was a my name's WOMEN dancer. Idk who I'm seeing in the image. XD

Is not crying a good thing? =p

I don't know what the whole issue with the moves is, and with others not knowing them. o.O IMO they're mostly kinda silly. Of course when I go, I'll do them, but I liked her non-choreographies pre-2002-ish more. ^^ Jumping and pointing your hand into the air ala rock concerts is awesome. =p

prussian blue 22nd September 2008 11:36 AM

lol i read the article (the chinese news article) and its quite funny

since when shu-ya is ayu's gossip BF? i thought its only the role he made, and not really making a real relationship.

ayu_ayu301 22nd September 2008 12:58 PM

I went to the 09/21 HK concert and calling anything less than breath-taking would be an understatement ...

I was sitting 10 rows from the runway around the middle portion and Ayumi was so up-close the whole concert ! Her singing really seem to be better this year IMO because her annoying vibrato is gone and she look so much hotter than last year concert at HK ...

Fans involvement was not bad at all .. or not as bad as that review up there .. I would say at least 50% of the crowd participated throughout the concert ... many people around me never touch their seats since the light is off LOL

waterballoon 22nd September 2008 02:33 PM

Whoa this concert seems more exciting as each day passes! I honestly just can't wait for the DVD to be released!

And for that JPM "report", well I don't know, but I think he made a lot of unnecessary complaints? Like how he said it was more show than singing... I guess, in a way, because she has lost the hearing of her left ear, she needed to compensate for the lesser musicality (although I really don't think it's any lesser), that's why the whole show-y concert.

In fact, she has been doing very dramatic and grandeur concerts since like when, AT 05? That is a new generation of her concerts, not the ones you get pre-2005... so I don't know.

Lee_410 22nd September 2008 03:09 PM

I want a Fly high uniform. They're so cool!

Anyways, she should have sung independent instead of Dearest. The crowd would love it!

majrakun 22nd September 2008 03:10 PM

I thought all the dancers for Decision has collars with chains. Man, the bondage theme just gets better every year. XD Is Kayanocchi being the backup singer again? I wonder who replaced Yuri or Yuki or whatever her name was in the AT05 performance?

futureLOVE 22nd September 2008 03:49 PM

She changed up some of the costumes a little bit...

t2m/ASFXX: it's two pieces now...it used to be one
DoY/Fly High: the white shirt underneath is gone..
Mirrorcle World: different hat and a completely different dress underneath *I think*

se7entheaven 22nd September 2008 04:48 PM

she changes her MW hat into this nice one
so she doesnt have to put on wig ^^

Jwiz 22nd September 2008 05:04 PM

I love each and every photo, and ayu certainly looked much better, and silmmer than when she was performing in japan.

I enjoyed watching the short video of marionette and MY ALL too; they are simply amazing.

Im also glad that to see many hongkong fans posting their experiences and opinions about the concerts (thanks for everything); all these make me more excited about the release of at08 dvd! X]

And thank god for that! I mean the other costumes with heavy textures ans such made her look bigger then she was. So this "slimmer" look doesnt suprice me since some things have changed to the better.

Thx for the pics!!

freedreamer 22nd September 2008 05:28 PM

seems like her vocals are an issue these days...but i'll just take all the audience's word for it...
wadeva the case, she still delivered im sure

i love all her new looks...i HOPE they can have a seperate ASIA DVD...really hope
i dun mind

anyway, SHE SOUNDS GD IN MW!!!

Melrose 22nd September 2008 09:31 PM

^

I really hope they'll use one of the oversea concerts for the DVD, but I doubt it as Yoyogi had a TON of cameras from what people said. But at Yoyogi, she still had the bad MW outfit, the fattening t2m outfit, no A Song for XX, her vocals were worse if I compare the Yoyogi newsclip with the HK newsclip, the my name's WOMEN costume fell apart and the intro of Dearest was messed up.
