To be honest, I'm disappointed. The song is nothing special. Even HEART BEAT is better. It sounds so average Johnnyish...like any other Johnny Band could have done. Nothing special, imho. I hate to admit it but maybe Jin's abscence does impact KAT-TUN's music for the worse. I doubt this single will get sales like Love Yourself. This is bad, I was really looking forward to this single. :(

Yes, I usually prefer to listen to songs for a while and let them sink a bit before I judge them. Maybe I'll change my mind later but I doubt it. The song is not for me and it's the first KAT-TUN single since SIGNAL that I don't really like. Even One Drop which isn't really one of my favourites is better. Sorry, that's just my opinion.

Hey, I also watched Kami no Shizuku. I didn't even think it was bad. It has Naka Riisa and the last scene with Kame and Riisa on the rooftop is worth the whole wine talk. But that doesn't make One Drop better, especially when shortly after that RESCUE was released which is still my favourite KAT-TUN single. ;)

The other Jinless Song Bokura no Machi de, to be honest in the beginning I also didn't fancy it that much. Maybe it's really Jins voice that I'm missing *gasp* ??? :shakehead

i think i prefer "Going!" to "Love yourself" though. "Love yourself" had a weirder composition music-wise & is more pop, while "Going!" flows better. it does seem like KAT-TUN's going in a more pop-friendly direction, but i'm alright with it so far (i just hope this autotune/pop stint is for this "era", personally). "Going!" really does fit in the "cartoon KAT-TUN II You" era, for sure....but with autotune. :laugh

but it does sound different w/o Akanishi, LOL. i do think Akanishi's vocals add in an ~edge~ to their music since he is the strongest vocalist. but i do love "Bokura no Machi de". it's such a stand-out track , imho, because there's nothing else in their music discography quite like it! PV is gorgeous too. :)

Kami no Shizuku vs. One Pound Gospel: Watched both, both are not the best of dramas. My favourite Kame drama would be Tatta Hitotsu no Koi. For me Riisa Naka is a much better actress than Meisa Kuroki. So I cannot really agree on this. I guess, I like the imperfect-crazy-kind of girl much better than the blank perfection that is Meisa Kuroki...I just think she is boring (as an actress, I like her singing) and there wasn't much chemistry between her and Kame, while I felt much more between Riisa and Kame although they have less screen time together and the drama isn't exactly revolving around their relationship.

I like Bokura no Machi de now just wasn't fond of it in the beginning, because it feels like such a depressing, sad song to me. Like the prelude to something bad that will happen. Don't know how else to describe it. But since KAT-TUN songs are always linked to the drama somehow (if you watch the drama) for me Bokura no machi de has the sad vibe from Tatta Hitotsu no Koi. While I really like Yorokobi no Uta it sold not that much I think because people probably couldn't relate to Tokyuu Tanaka San Go or just prefer Kame instead of Koki. In the beginning I also didn't like Keep the Faith because for me Yukan Club is still the worst drama I have ever seen. But if you disconnect it from its drama after I while I really got to love Keep the Faith. It's a great song.

I didn't watched Yukan Club so I can't comment on this but yeah Keep the faith is amazing

3) i don't think there is a huge forum since JE fans can get pretty catty with each other (trust me, it can get nassssty, lol). you're best bet with anything related to JE groups would be LiveJournal communities. i get everything i need (downloads, music, etc.) there.

I don't think he will sit it out. ;) Why should he? Just to look bored again and don't even getting to sing? I think they will say something like this: "Akanishis still in Japan but he's busy practising for his concert in L.A." If they mention him at all. He's not on the cover, he's not singing...as far as I understand Akanishi is non existant for this single and that also means promotion wise.

er now to think about it , I rather he don't make himself present next Fri . He's going to like what you said , feel/look bored & probably thinking that he should be at some club getting drunk or doing something else that's more practical in his books

after hearing Going ! in full , I have to say that this's probably their weakest sounding single to date X_X

I'm not sure if it's because Akanishi's vocals is not present but there's just something about the song that I feel that's lacking 'something' D:

& is it me or the guys looked unusually happy/upbeat like as if they don't seem to miss Akanishi when they performed Going ! ? hmmm

but they know how to work up a sweat or 2 with the crowd

You know I feel the same. I just cannot get into this song even though I want to. It's so blaa...boring, very Johnnyish, but more something HSJ or NEWS would do. But about the performance you're right, they all looked happy relaxed and like they really had fun. It's a shame that the song sucks so much. And even if Akanishi would sing a line or the chorus, the song would still be bad, I think. :(

^thing is people will say it's because of no-Akanishi that they will sell less. I really wanted them to have a strong song, when he's not involved. So we could've seen how they would have done without him. But this is not the case. It's unfair. Going! is not even having a drama just that sports show. I might be wrong, but I think most KAT-TUN listeners are not very interested in sport shows. And with Cartoon KAT-TUN gone, KAT-TUN are really having problems now, I think that even 3 times in a row at MS cannot solve. Maybe it'll be succesful. But outselling Love yourself is impossible, at least this is what I think.

& between the way both singles were marketed (with Love yourself's having 2 CD + DVD's as limited editions & for Going ! having only 1 CD + DVD's as a LE & a CD only LE) , I think trouble's brewing in due time

But you have to consider this is KAT-TUN. Their Fans are more used to FALL DOWN kind of songs. It's not like they are Arashi or NEWS who like to play it save. I think that stupid sports show is to blame and maybe they want to get some HSJ Fans to buy the record, too. And don't forget the grandmother that likes Arashi. JE probably thinks she should focus on KAT-TUN, now that "not-so-perfect son-in-law" Akanishi is gone. Now, they only need to make Koki look more like a Johnny and the plan succeeded.

the target market for KAT-TUN is teen/fangirls while for ARASHI , it's all the people that're working including my mum & grandma xD so naturally the type of music that each Johnny's does differs

I just hope this time round , it's a 1 off mistake with regards to Going ! . Even my younger sister said that the introduction of the song kinda downgraded the song to her

Ha, I knew I finally found out how JE's/Johnnys mind works. :P

i honestly do think JE is trying to push KAT-TUN into a more mainstream way. but i think they're having a hard time trying to transition them because they are popular with the image they have, you know, the anti-idol look of sorts. Arashi was never really that popular with their "harder" image, unlike KAT-TUN. A-RA-SHI was really their only hit...prior to HYD. Kitto Daijoubu was popular, but imo, it's not in line with their rap/rock/hip-hop roots.

but i think this single will be an indicator of what to do with KAT-TUN in the future. looking through their discography, you see their more pop-influenced singles (White Xmas/Yorokobi no Uta/ONE DROP) are the lowest selling ones. however, i think following the success of Love yourself, they are giving the...pop route a go again. but i think if Going! meets lukewarm sales, hopefully the next single will be more in line of the usual KAT-TUN lingo~ and JinJin will be back causing up a storm too. :laugh

i honestly want them to try electro/dance/urban if they're looking for a fresh sound. they already mastered the "rock" gig. i wish they went THE D-MOTION route, than the Love yourself one. :P

As an anon on 2ch explains, the hat's brand, Buiby, belongs to Shirota Yu's brother Jun.

The Shirotas are connected to the "Akanishi Gundan," or "Akanishi Troops," the nickname of Akanishi Jin and his circle of friends. Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo, among others, are members as well. They go out, they party, yadda yadda yadda.

So, Yoochun's hat? Could be a coincidence. Or maybe a certain friend passed it along.
