They have few of the best selling singles this year and are going to have the best selling album of the year, 2nd year in a row, that's just amazing. x_X

Did it happen with B'z or Mr.Children or SMAP or GLAY (or other acts if you want to mention bands/singers) in japan's history?

(Excluding ayu and hikki of course)

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was saying. Their overall sales numbers aren't as high as some of the older acts, but that is a reflection of the times of overall lower sales in general. However, no other artist has ever man handled the Oricon yearly charts like they have now for three years in a row.

Bigtop 6th August 2010 03:03 AM

I cannot believe this... If there was a "handicap" system, then it would be fair game, but without such things, as well as the strong (and aggressive) Johnny's fanbase, right now it has been pretty much an unfair, unlevel playing field that is leaning more towards Arashi and the Johnny's artists...

I've even heard that the top four of July singles by Oricon (monthly sales) are swept by Johnny's artists, with Arashi leading the way! (Reference: AKB48 5th and 1st among girls, followed by Ayu in 6th, right behind these girls...)

I agree... I have never seen something like this - maybe it's because of Johnny's reluctance of putting it onto digital music stores such as iTunes...

But if Arashi goes for "four in a row", would that be kind of unlucky? I was putting that thought up because the number 4 is UNLUCKY in Japan (and this was the case when Ayu decided to not receive the Japan Record Awards after her third straight time because she wants to play fair as well as prevent the unlucky four-in-a-row stuff)...

And if this is even possible, maybe the opponents against Johnny's might want to call a lawsuit that Johnny's sales such as Arashi has prevented new artists from getting #1, and it could be a possible reference to the Antimonopoly Law in Japan or such... It seems that Johnny and Associates are monopolizing Japanese pop music in some way, and I think that is unfair...

Maybe Arashi should take a break after the next album...

5music Taiwan already listed both editions of Løve Rainbow (Japan press) on their website

CD - http://www.5music.com.tw/CDList-C.asp?cdno=431455678675

CD + DVD - http://www.5music.com.tw/CDList-C.asp?cdno=431455678674

omg so expensive :dead2

excluding shipping

CD - S$16.90+

CD + DVD - S$23.73+

It's quite shocking that the prices 5music Taiwan charged for Løve Rainbow is probably on par on what YesAsia might charged :no

well Taiwan press to the rescue xD & I'm still waiting for 5music Taiwan to update their website with regards to the Taiwan press release for Boku no Miteiru Fukei

it's still showing as 27th Aug at their end but 20th on avex Taiwan's

Beauty4123 6th August 2010 05:13 AM

wow..why so expensive? :(

KarenPang 6th August 2010 05:15 AM

don't forget Lisa , it's Japan press we're talking about

sites outside of Japan like YesAsia , HMV HK & 5musicTaiwan will charge more because you have to understand that they have to order the stock from Japan & then ship the item(s) out to you from their warehouses

As such , you have to bear those extra costs if you want to get so & so X_X

but for me , eh I don't see the need to get a Japan press of something where i just have to wait 16 days or less before the Taiwan press's out

I'm quite patient in real life xD & that way it also saves me a lot of $ too

points to Boku no Miteiru Fukei as a prime eg. :innocent & oh I'm surprised the Taiwan / 1st press for it is not out of print on 5musicTaiwan yet xD

I think if I were to post this in the arashi_on community , it will happen very fast ;p

Beauty4123 6th August 2010 05:18 AM

but isn't the CDs from 5 music taiwan the taiwanese versions? that's why in my post i was surprised it was expensive.

it's late here, i'm sorry for the confusion, lol. just a bit confused :P but the taiwan versions are already available for order, right? or is what you posted just the japan presses and the taiwanese versions haven't been announced yet?

KarenPang 6th August 2010 05:20 AM

haha well 5musicTaiwan do sell a mixture of Taiwan , Japanese & even Hong Kong presses of material xD

Naturally for Japan & HK press , it will be a bit more expensive as they have to import stock from overseas unlike Taiwan press where it's quite dirt cheap

if you're talking about Løve Rainbow , 5music only have listed so far preorders for Japan presses for both editions

The Taiwan press for both , the links are not up yet & I don't know when it will be out but I assume it will be 16 days after Japan's release date

I will post them on here when I get more info on it & I'm still debating which one to get for you in due time :innocent xD

Beauty4123 6th August 2010 05:22 AM

OH NOW I GET IT! :dead i just thought they sold taiwanese versions only, so that's why i was sad in my first post, lol. i thought you posted the links for the taiwan versions :headache i never knew they sold other versions as well!!

but really, i'm fine with CD only, karen! :P it's cheaper anyway lol.

sorry to be so confused! must be a sign to get some sleep :tired

KarenPang 6th August 2010 05:25 AM

haha sorry for what happened earlier on , I forgot it was getting late at your end D:

well this time round like Ashita no Kioku / Crazy Moon , Everything & Monster , both the A & B-sides for Løve Rainbow will be the same in both CD & CD + DVD's

Not like what happened in other singles of theirs like WISH , Kitto Daijoubu , Aozora Pedal , Love so sweet , We can make it ! , Happiness , Step and Go , One Love , truth / Kaze no Mukou e , Beautiful Days , Believe / KNK , My Girl , Troublemaker though except you will not get the instrumentals for the CD + DVD as always

I probably get the CD + DVD of Løve Rainbow for you as once that's gone , it will be gone . You still can get CD only's in the near future but like what I said , I'm still considering x)

Beauty4123 6th August 2010 05:27 AM

lol well, i trust your choice on which version so i guess i'll leave it up to you :D just don't waste all your money on me :weep

Bigtop 6th August 2010 06:41 AM

5music Taiwan is a record store, right? An online record store?

KarenPang 6th August 2010 06:45 AM

5music has physical CD shops/stores in Taiwan

it's more or less Taiwan's answer to HMV as there're no HMV shops in Taiwan from what I know

I don't know for Tower Records though

Kingdom 6th August 2010 07:58 AM

they are doing amazing on the charts! I hope they are the year's first million seller.

Nothing you said there makes any sense.

An antimonopoly law does not mean you can sue an artist for being popular. It's not Arashi that's FORCING the people to buy their stuff. They just release something. People like it. That's all there is to it. You can like it or dislike it, but that's the way it is.
