Perhaps. Still they invited Yuna Ito this year and she hasn't had a hit since her debut. I guess they are pretty desperate :innocent

truehappiness 6th December 2010 07:48 AM

I think Ayu probably just didn't want to go and rejected FNS. They usually do invitations to this sort of thing, right? I bet a lot of the bigger names like Mr. Children always get invited but they never accept. Maybe this is the same thing but on a smaller scale with Ayu.

Uhh... Mr. Children went to FNS in 2006, 2007 and 2008...

I think ikimono-gakari is also one of the bigger names that did not go to FNS, not since the time they debuted, I think.

What does them going years ago have to do with them not going in 2009 and 2010? I'm guessing that they were probably asked to go in 2009 and 2010 [like Ayu probably] but they did not go. It must be frustrating for these shows sometimes when people reject offers~

jbrat2219 6th December 2010 11:29 AM

If Ayu doesn't want to go, she doesn't have to go. And I mean no harm, but I'm sick of the "she did it all before" arguments. Just because in the past she was outrageously busy doesn't mean for the rest of her life she has to be outrageously busy. Maybe she's learned the value of not trying to do everything so she doesn't work herself into an early grave.

Nor did they get big until 2-3 years ago...so up until 2009 they prolly didn't even get invited ^^ I agree with truehappiness, Ayu prolly rejected the offer for some reason.

SunshineSlayer 6th December 2010 03:34 PM

^ I'm pretty sure its the collaboration thing. It appears that its a requirement of everyone on the show now.

So everyone has done collabs this year? I didn't even check the setlist :eyebrow Well that should explain it then.

truehappiness 6th December 2010 05:07 PM

I think she means to say that Ayu rejected the offer because she would have to collaborate with other singers during FNS since it was a theme for this and last year. I doubt that's the reason why she didn't do it though. Since when was Ayu not up for a collaboration?

I hope she appears on HEYx3 again soon~

Yes I got that. Well I can't recall the last time she has done a collab in a TV show not counting the BLUE BIRD performance in Domoto Kyoudai and SMAP x SMAP in 2008 xD Who knows? Maybe they just didn't know who to pair her up with?

SunshineSlayer 7th December 2010 04:14 AM

She has certainly done collab performances in the past, but for some reason I never have the image that Ayu really is someone who likes collaborating with other artists. I do not know why, its just the image I have. :)
She has done collabs when it was on her own show or when she was using it for promotion like on SmapSmap, but I do not recall her having done a collaboration just for the heck of it. (which is what the majority of this years FNS set list was and last years too)

She did Dream ON. :D Glad she did~~ :heart

SunshineSlayer 7th December 2010 11:49 AM

^ Yes, I know of course. :) But that is still different from collaborating with another artist just for the sake of having a special performance on a tv show.

ayumisrael 7th December 2010 11:58 AM

Maybe she doesn't want to force others to perform her songs with her & vice versa?

Oh I see. I thought you meant collabs in general. :tipsy

Ah, I think this is the mook~

Wow, Ayu -is- on the cover. I thought they would have models wearing her clothing~ She's wearing either MOON or blossom.

Mook. I guess it's kind of like a magazine / book type deal. Not sure about the origins of the name though. I guess they put it at the end to say that it was a mook for whatever reason, haha.
