I used to order with Play-Asia first, but because of bad experiences (damaged cases, etc.) i changed for YesAsia. I placed some orders on CDJ, but they are really expansive to me...
I ordered twice on Amazon.co.jp (the LOVE&HOPE book, and recently the CLIP BOX) : each time i had to pay ~€45 (~$50) customs fees...
I did pay customs with CDJ when I had a big order one time (with fast shipment).
I think that the fastest you get, the more you've to pay at the customs xDD

(Yeah... CDs & DVDs are baaaad things :laugh)

^How did you manage to grab the LOVE & HOPE book from Amazon? They were gone in seconds!!

It's not always true you just need to do your homework for every single release.
Cos in this release case here's a guide on the major online websites

^Are the prices from HMV, CDJapan and Amazon including shipping?

I already pre-ordered from Amazon. Its shipping by DHL is pretty fast. I usually get the item one or two days after the release date in Japan. What about YesAsia?

Nope. Only YA comes with free* (min $39USD) regular airmail service. Which will take about 2 weeks. HOWEVER, if you got the money to pay for DHL service for the other online shops, just FYI, YA do provides express shipping too. so I don't think that's of any problem.

ayuuk 6th February 2012 05:23 AM

^Do you usually choose free shipping or express shipping? How much is their express shipping, take the Blu-ray limited box, for example?

Yeah, I believe I said that it depends on the release, but you're right.

Standard Service FREE 6 - 14 Business Days
Express Service US$22.94 2 - 5 Business Days

I choose free shipping since I'm not really in a hurry to get my items.
However, the blu ray box is long sold out on YA.

I believe they are without shipping? COz I tried ordering at CDJ and with shipping it was so much more exensive than YA. SO I think, when you make a chart like this, you should also put a price of shipping. Coz now you mislead people. They may think CDJ or HMV are cheaper, will place the order and will regret?

And I dunno but for me YA is always cheaper than CDJ or nay other site. And I'm from Poland. Should we ask anyone from US to tell us about their shipping fees? Maybe it's all about the shiping which makes such sites less expensive to some while more expensive to others?

YA is always cheaper for me than cdj, even if its only by a few dollars. And especially after cdj's exorbitant shipping prices. But I think usually the deciding factor for most people comes down to the shipping. CdJ is more reputable than YA in general.

Thanks to whoever made that chart *_* very appreciative~ that would be kinix lol thanks :)

I don't wana add in the shipping fee because YA is ONLY giving free for regular airmail. If you used the other shops, they're providing EMS/DHL/fedex which YA also provides. It's totally different shipping from the free regular airmail. And all the store's shipping price for express shipping is almost the same. So putting in the shipping price in this chart will only make YA seems lousy for providing slow shipping.

MissElin_ 6th February 2012 05:05 PM

Maybe someone could make a super duper advanced chart with shipping (including all different shipping services with different shipping time and cost) on one side and without shipping on the other side. :D It's very interesting to look at actually.~

You made a mistake on Power of Music- 2011 A Limited Edition [Blu-ray] for CDJapan it's $87.72 not $75.09.

If there was a pre-order, I pre-ordered it. I don't really remember, but I believe there wasn't any, then I think I was just fast :P

ayuuk 7th February 2012 03:20 AM

^You are lucky and fast, then! :D How many pages do we have Ayu in that photobook?

Pieces_of_SEVEN 7th February 2012 03:35 AM

Yay! Amazon decreased my order total from 20000 yen to 18060 yen! It's not THAT much but it's something! I love amazons pre order guarantee!

Not so much... the cover, plus an introduction text describing the work of Leslie Kee with Ayu, 2-3 pages of pics, and 2 double-pages with lyrics of "A Song is Born".
