this is great news I hope she performs old hits with a good voice and no Timmy around :D

spanishfan 8th September 2012 01:57 PM

This is so cool! :D I want to know what will she perform ^^

Mai82Go 8th September 2012 03:02 PM

Nice one - for people who can actually go there. I really hope there will be a recording of some kind.

isthisLOL? 8th September 2012 03:21 PM

Every artist seems to have 1 hour + 10 minutes for the next artist to get ready(with the exception of the band itself). 1 hour of Ayu? YESPLEASE. I just really hope her entire performance will be released and not a 1-4 song excerpt.

Lol at the genre definition Pop/Rock discussion.

Other songs that can be classed as pop rock would be About You, Until that day... does that make sense, when you'd compare it to heavier songs like Microphone and such?
I think alot of Ayu's music does lie in the middle, though. She definitely has rok music in her though. I sometimes wish she were part of a band because she CLEARLY is into it and loves it.

That person wasn't discrediting Ayu or anything, so you can take a chill pill.

AHS is seriously overdramatic.

Lol, you need to take a chill pill because this was a serious question! I never understood what makes pure rock 'rock' and when it crosses over into "pop" - nobody can ever explain it to me and this was my chance to put the question out there...

The difference is mainly on the melodic and harmonical level - while also on the instrumental(and dynamic, and structural...), but to a lesser extent. So if you want to understand it you should learn some music theory and it will fall into place by itself, it cannot be explained without priopr knowledge in music theory and some research done by yourself on songs classified into those genres.

wow! this is so unexpected! I like that ayu tries something new!

I plan on learning music theory, have for a while but have so many creative projects to get finished before I dive into studying music theory but thank you for explaining. I have heard classic rock songs much less "heavy" than Ayu's music and it was never classified as pop although these bands are quite popular. So it never made any sense to me.

I hope she does Guilty, Alterna & Marionette.

mi|kshake~

Aderianu 8th September 2012 05:24 PM

she don't have much time to create new show. I think it will be like AT12 + a-nation

The definition of what is Pop and what is Rock has shifted and blurred some over time, Pop has gotten closer to Rock and Rock has gotten closer to Hard Rock and Metal. Rock used to be very simplistic especially in the 60s(not all Rock, but much of the popular Rock), so it's close to today's definition of Pop, but in the 70s and 80s a shift to far more complex and heavy compositions started affecting Rock and has shaped what Rock is today. That's the main reason we use the term "Classic Rock" - because it's not the same as 90s, 00s or 10s rock.
Everything has gotten heavier, really.

Sandy 8th September 2012 06:52 PM

Very cool. All I can say at this point.

That could be a good occasion to perform the 'forgotten' songs : what about a setlist like liar + criminal + GUILTY ?

tokyoxjapanxfan 8th September 2012 09:12 PM

I decided I'm not going to try and go to this, even though I really would have liked to.

It's a lot of money and I wouldn't be able to be there for most of the event :-(

But I really look toward to the track list. BoY needs to be done...

Ohhh I doubt it but YESPLZ.

krazeyo 8th September 2012 09:22 PM

Hmmm sounds so exciting! I wonder if she'll actually perform for the whole 70 minutes or have outfit changes like usual. Rock and roll artists don't usually change outfits righttt?

I look forward to seeing the setlist :D

2Hurt 8th September 2012 09:23 PM

Sadly I have another concert in Tokyo on this day so I can't attend, if I would've known so many artists I like would be there, I would've gone :(

Luther10 8th September 2012 09:57 PM

An hour and 10 minutes? Jesus!!! WOW!!!
She can sing all of these: Talking to myself, decision, 1 LOVE, A song for XX, Alterna, About You, Endless Sorrow, Memorial Address, Is this Love?, End of the World, Because of You, criminal, Liar.

RayJason 8th September 2012 10:53 PM

I'll accept anything to be honest :). I just want ayumi hamasaki, not ft. ayumi hamasaki or & ayumi hamasaki.
