Awww okay.... so all along it wasn't artists just all copying each other XD just using the same composer... okay... somehow just feel a little weird because I didn't think ayu was in there with them o_O; oh well though V_V;;

The fact that Jade sung the demotapes doesen't really change anything, there's always someone singing the song in the demos before they're given to the artist that is going to sing it.

I'm not trying to "defend" either artists, but somehow the word "cover song" gives a lot of people negative associations.

Umm FYI, just because Ayu released hers first doesn't make it the "original version." Sweetbox already planned on releasing these songs way before (miss)understood. Technically, they're Jade's songs but unfortunately, her album is to be released later, which is arousing over-reactive Ayu fans making rude comments about "her copying Ayu." Most importantly, GEO is part of Sweetbox, so it's technically Sweetbox's songs. I seriously don't get why there's this sudden commotion over this if it's GEO's songs. It's Sweetbox's to begin with.
No one is copying anyone. GEO gave the songs that were meant to be in Jade's next album to Ayu for (miss)understood. As simple as that. If you guys are still overreacting, then obviously, you're either illiterate, or you're too lazy to read.

i'm really interested in hearing all of these originals
never heard of jade's voice too...what does her vocals sounds like?

I uploaded their entire discography earlier and I think the links still work. If not, I'll PM you with the links.

I agree with that.

I think of it this way: the composer just used the same melody for 2 different songs.

truehappiness 30th January 2006 12:23 AM

Thing is, that these songs will most likely be arranged/mixed differently in the Bold and Delicious album for Sweetbox..

Jade better not take the english ver of Onimusha 4's theme song. XD I am buying it because theres some Ayu in it. XD

LOL LOL XD I think that she is going to NOT do that. It's just a 'song'. Ayu has the contract with Capcom or w/e and she's the only one who can do it. So far into the game translation.. they can't just say 'oh lets use jade!' Ayu is the one with the deal, and Ayu is the one with the songs :p aka STARTIN' OMG HOTNESS <3 And yeah. As if Kazuhiro Hara is gonna let Jade get in on it.. :p

Well Square Enix booted Koda Kumi from FFX2 and gave the songs to Jade to sing for the English version... so it's a possibility! Not necessarily that Jade will sing them, but just that Ayu will be removed from the NA/Europe releases and another singer will sing them in English.

Then again, I'm not familiar with the series, so they may keep the Japanese theme songs in Japanese.

I think that it will stay intact.. the only reason that Koda [ew] was booted was because her english versions were TERRIBLE. Like honestly, they were like.. really. bad. Plus they've used a Japanese song in FFX, Suteki da ne. Ayu's song, Depend on You also made it to the states in the game Thousand Arms by Atlus. So.. it's pretty much the company's decision to take them out completely or just leave them there.

As if CAPCOM will spend money to rerecord them :p lol <3 Ayu

but y would GEO lend the 12 songs demo INCLUDING the songs they r gonna release to ayu in the first place? it's like "OK! i got a few songs, u could take them if u want... anyway i'm gonna release them later..." so it would make ppl THINK ayu copy or even steal the songs from them when (maybe) ayu didn know their plans of releasing them later...

Delirium-Zer0 30th January 2006 07:35 AM

Geo himself might not have even known for sure if he was gonna release the songs in full versions or not.

And amen to that, impact x_X

truehappiness 30th January 2006 07:50 AM

I was sort of expecting people to not read it :p

[you know, kind of like how people might glance at a tracklist and believe that is the one and true one with no instrumentals like 2 months prior to release.. grrr..]

I hate fans who are spontaneous and don't think before they post x.x

well, i don't actually hate it, but still, this makes the music no longer original, i mean is this kinda thing legal in Japan? don't artists suppose to have copy-rights for their music?

sorry if i'm asking the already-answered questions, don't have time to check the whole page...

Tasked 30th January 2006 11:47 AM

can't we JUST say that NONE of the artists cover the songs. It's just a *splitting of the composing* into two different directions :)

Qsenwill 30th January 2006 12:40 PM

whatsoever.I think ayu want to try new style, and Of Course we should support her.

ruixiong89 30th January 2006 04:32 PM

As mentioned, I don't really see a problem to it. Jade sung the demotapes, and these demotapes are sent to Ayu to select the songs! Other than CREA composed songs, I could say almost all the songs Ayu has sung already have demotapes that were not released. It's just how the music industry works. Sweetbox (the team) as composers and musical artistes themselves could release a compliation of their composition. It's perfectly fine.

That doesn't really make any of Ayu's songs become unoriginal or sound unoriginal. If fans make the assumption that this release means that Ayu songs are original, then that ought to be the case for many of Ayu songs (which are compositions on demotapes that never got released).

These aren't even 'cover songs' in the first place so yup, don't think it's appropriate to refer to them as 'cover songs'. I personally see them as a complimentary bonus to the Ayu songs. It lets you understand and try to imagine how the songs were originally meant to sound and how they turned out to be eventually (as done by Ayu herself).

evolution105 30th January 2006 08:41 PM

I don't really care anymore. You can't judge without hearing it so please let's just give it a try.

Delirium-Zer0 30th January 2006 08:48 PM

Deep Snow: if there's credit given, and royalties are paid to the songwriter (in this case, GEO gets sales from both this album and ayu's), then it's perfectly legal in any country.
