Thanks for the info!!!

Hm, it's still great though to see Ayu so high up on lists. As much as we always want her to be on top, we know it won't last forever. Plus, could somebody please tell me if all the top 10 singles are by male groups? I'm not familiar with a couple of the names, but have a hunch.

After all, Ayu is only human like the rest of us.

yeah. it isn't considered an "original" album because they called it "BEST."

I haven't quite given up hope just yet. I think Ayu still has some fight in her for the next few years to come. I mean, there are still lots of people in Japan who consider her the Queen of J-Pop even today. We won't really be able to tell whether Kuu is the new "Queen" or not until she releases an album that isn't titled "BEST" -- because naturally, the name BEST inflates sales a tad. I am a little surprised at Ayu's sales in general -- they're a bit lower than they used to be. I was EXTREMELY shocked that (miss) didn't break 1~million -- I thought it was her best album in a long time, and I thought that Startin'/Born To Be... would do a lot better, too. I have a feeling, however, that BLUE BIRD won't do much better. The previews weren't that great. I hope to God, however, that it debuts at #1 weekly so she can keep her consecutive #1 streak. It would make 27. She'll have some competition, though -- b/w Kuu and Hirai Ken, BLUE BIRD is a very big risk in terms of her #1 streak. It's still nice to know that she has sold the most singles for females and her collective album sales exceed 43~million! ^__^ Overall, I'm still very happy with Ayu, but like I said before...I feel the distance. She needs to find her creative persona again, because lately it seems that her work lacks that certain flair and sense of originality and creativity that Ayu always had. When she finds it again though, she'll definitely produce a -HIT!-

thnx for the updates:):):)KAT-UN seems to be very popular...never heard of them though.....:(

How will Kuu be in competition with BLUE BIRD??? Hirai Ken might be a threat, depending on his 1st week sales, but I'm still 95% confident that BLUE BIRD will make #1. And it's NOT collective album sales that exceed 43million, it's her collective CD sales.

Alright! I found a way to make myself happy!

ALL OF AYUMI'S JAPANESE RECORDED ALBUMS HAVE BEEN NUMBER 1!

Her New York Recorded Album did decent!

hahaha...

;_;

that and I think that because they sold the songs online, people just bought the songs they didn't have because that was a lot of singles and only 6 new songs...bad choice

michiAki 5th June 2006 03:26 PM

thanks~~!!

Cyria 5th June 2006 08:42 PM

It's nice seeing her with the second most #1 singles - I'd been hoping for that for a while before Ayu got there. :)

Then do you consider "BEST of KAT-TUN" a best album? It's their 1st album, and I don't think it's a best album, I think it's an original album.

That one I would actually still consider a "BEST" because even though it's their 1st CD, they had been performing many of those songs for years and the songs were well known in Japan even without CDs.

truehappiness 6th June 2006 01:01 AM

IMHO it is a BEST as well...

I mean, just look it says BEST in the title. XD

If that's not proof then I dunno what is. [KAT-TUN has a lot more songs that what was on that album I think.. but they chose the 'best' fanfavorites or something .. :o]

I'm pretty sure that half (7/14) were old songs, done in performances, the other half (7/14) were entirely new songs, never performed before their debut. I don't consider that a best-of album.

truehappiness 6th June 2006 02:17 AM

Well.. what is it officially then? /questionmark
