HilaryDuffFanboy 8th November 2006 05:03 PM

taskinst and kiss o' kill.

wtf mate.

paperbag 8th November 2006 05:05 PM

they should've at least did this:
taskinst(rumental) or put a period on taskinst.

Oh... So o' is short for "of"? Now that's pretty weird... and cool. xD Sounds so detective story like. lol

I hope that "momentum" will be a rock-ballad. Something between "HANABI ~episode II~" and "Memorial address". Because we have 4 PVs for upbeat songs, one for a rock song and one for a ballad. So a rock-ballad would make a good balance. ^^

Btw, I see nothing weird in "taskinst". I guess I'm used to it already... *cough-taskinlude-taskinillusion-tasking-cough* ^_-
Maybe it's a wordplay of sort? As you form the superlative(?) with "-st" in English. This is most likely an overinterpretation, but it was just a thought that came into my mind...

Larisa-chan 8th November 2006 05:11 PM

Wow, I was expecting a LOT worse with these titles! Hah

1. Not yet (Good)
2. until that Day... (Good)
3. Startin' (Boo to the ')
4. 1 LOVE (Boo to the 1)
5. It was (Good)
6. LABYRINTH (Awesome)
7. JEWEL (Good)
8. momentum (Awesome)
9. taskinst (Funny at first, but fine - taskinlude doesn't make sense either)
10. Born To Be... (Good)
11. Beautiful Fighters (Lame)
12. BLUE BIRD (Good)
13. kiss o' kill (Lame)
14. Secret (Good)
----
I'm just worried that momentum and Labyrinth will BOTH be ballads, and I'll be so disappointed! "Lalala the labyrinth of your heart~~" "Lululu I can feel the momentum of your heart~~" etc. etc.

alternarist 8th November 2006 05:11 PM

LOL. i thought "Not Yet" meant the song title was not yet determined. :S

anyway, LABYRINTH i think will remind me of criminal.. haha! and yes Startin' is the 3rd track!!! ayu's song titles are getting more and more non-ayuish in my opinion haha. we can predict It was and LABYRINTH to be something not slow and yet not fast. haha. momentum shld be a slow song. and kiss 'o kill shld be a fast song!! Secret is the secret track hehehe..

there are only 3 new PVs.. :( i wanna see how Born To Be... PV is made without the crew and ayu getting blind!! :D

Raleigh 8th November 2006 05:11 PM

taskinst sounds like she ran out of names..

Omg... taskinst and kiss o' kill are like eeewwww....!

I'm really surprised that so many people don't understand the task- titles yet.

task- comes from the name of the composer/arranger of all of these interludes. He is called tasuku, but his name is written stylized as "task", for two reasons: (1) "tasuku", when spoken naturally, sounds like "task" (the vowels get glazed over); and (2) keep reading.

The -inst part of the new title comes from the Japanese word insuto, which in turn is a shortened form of insutoramentaru. The words come from the English word instrumental, and mean the same thing as well.

It's kind of hard to explain, but as you can see above, the Japanese language can only represent English words with "extra" vowels. With many of these task- titles, they remove the extra vowels to come up with something cool (here is reason #2 for tasuku's name appearing as "task").

Rundown of task- titles:

taskinlude tasuku's in(ter)lude
taskinillusion tasuku's in(terlude)-illlusion
tasking tasuku-ing (i.e. doing what tasuku does, a pun on the word "tasking")
taskinst tasuku's instrumental

The titles make sense if you look at them.

The only title on this album that has me making faces is "kiss o' kill". It sounded very Irish to me at first, and then it sounded very ghetto. I thought of "Mo' Money Mo' Problems". It could be either the poor English "kiss of kill" or the poor English "kiss or kill". We have yet to see.

ayu1m 8th November 2006 05:22 PM

Ou, didn't know any of that :X

Thx for the info evolusean

thinkingoutloud89 8th November 2006 05:35 PM

kiis o kill gets most of my attention...momentum doesn´t soudn that exciting to me...

makie_7 8th November 2006 05:40 PM

The more I read the titles the more excited I'm about them! And my thoughts about them are:

1. Not yet (I like it)
2. until that Day...(sounds it has something related to "not yet")
3. Startin' (cool)
4. 1 LOVE (i like it, but prefer "one" instead of "1"
5. It was (I like it)
6. LABYRINTH (cool)
7. JEWEL (pretty, and reminds me of the singer Jewel)
8. momentum (I hope it's for a rock song)
9. taskinst (nice, thanks evolusean for the explanation)
10. Born To Be...(ok)
11. Beautiful Fighters (don't like it)
12. BLUE BIRD (I like it)
13. kiss o' kill (cool, I wonder what kind of song it is)
14. Secret (very nie)

Ayumi626 where is your avatar and sig. picture from?

elvis810 8th November 2006 05:41 PM

i do hope momentum is like M or some dark rock songs!
LABYRINTH sounds similar to Doll and WONDERLAND
"It was" is pretty bland~
But this tracklist is one of the most western styled one of ayu!
I like it and i hope i like the cover more when it's out~

Syphex 8th November 2006 05:48 PM

er, it's kiss OR kill, isn't it? Kiss of kill makes no sense whatsoever.

and taskinst doesn't flow well...it sounds wierd when you pronounce it. Taskinlude, taskinillusion, tasking etc. all flowed in english. I wonder how they could improve on taskinst? maybe get rid of the hard "s"? =/

realize_! 8th November 2006 05:51 PM

they could've addded the "strum"

therefore "task-in-strum" easier for me at least where as "task-inst"

o'
1. an abbreviated form of of, as in o'clock or will-o'-the-wisp.
2. an abbreviated form of on.

I have a feeling that kiss o' kill will be another B&D. But, that's just me.
