I hope the album has longevity too. Shup Up and Drive (and Breakin' Dishes after that?) seen like they should have good potential as singles.

That's some good news. Having a #1 album in a major music market like that must surely give her star power a bit of a boost.

i just realized...i really don't like Shut Up and Drive...i think Breakin' Dishes is a better song...

and people will get mad at me for this, but it's scary...am I the only one that thinks Breakin' Dishes sounds very similar to Nelly Furtado's Maneater?

and another thing...i'm really wanting this Japanese mixtape...anyone know where i can download it? ive noticed a couple people in this thread said the have it.

The album is Billboard #2 with 162k, ahead of Paul McCartney with 161k and after T-Pain with 171k (never heard of him before). It's a better debut than her previous albums (#10 and #5), but I like the album so much I wish it had sold even more.

It's nice that she managed to snatch the #2 position, but I, too, wish she would have been #1. Haven't there been about 5 occasions when the same artist or band has the UK and US album and single #1s, with Beyoncé accomplishing it most recently in 2003? She had a chance at history, but something tells me this won't be her last chance.

At least Umbrella is still #1 and with the quality/high profile of this album she seems to have won over more fans (like me :)).

has anyone heard that version of Umbrella with Chris Brown in it? it's called Cinderella. i really like this verision, but there are bits where it doesn't seem to have been mixed properly and Rihanna is cut off.... but overall, it's cute!

I heard that Chris Brown wrote a song called Cinderella that shared a beat with Umbrella, but I haven't heard of an official Umbrella remix with Chris Brown on it, though I may be behind on the latest news. Perhaps a fan mixed the two songs together?
