Gosh, this is so sad some people can't understand the simple fact that everyone's facial features change throughout the years... People keep comparing pictures taken years apart... Usually pictures taken before and after the very peroid in life (ages 15 to 20-something) when people's looks can change drastically...

Like many other's have pointed before, we've recently had plenty of pictures/footage of Ayu without makeup that proves her eyes have barely changed.

I read (don't remeber where though) that the person from the left was someone from Korea or sth like that.
Unfortunately i can't find the picture which was a rip of her AT 06. If you own the dvd, look at the video from the credits. When it's almost finished, ayu is talkin to someone else and she has no make up on her.
Her eyes look EXACTLY as they did in the past. I think what makes her eyes look bigger (apart from photoshop...) is her make up and the LONG eyelashes they put on her (which make her look really sexy btw XD!!)

EDIT: does anybody knows where do the pic from the right come from?? is it from a magazine or what?

The picture on the left is indeed Ayu, but she was like 16/17/18..

It's just dumb to smoke overall.

Yeah I think it is dumb to smoke especially for health reasons. I hope she only smokes on rare occasions if she does.

I think Ayu, being as health crazy as she is, probably chooses to not smoke anymore... As a rebellious teenager, there is no doubt that she probably smoked and such, but that's what teenagers in her position did in Japan at the time :| She was a "delinquent" kinda... but now, people look to her for inspiration and comfort. So I think that perhaps... she stopped smoking a while after hitting it big?

Her voice has always seemed to be pretty unique, so I don't think that people's reasoning for her voice being the way it is = smoking...

I hope you're right since smoking is not something I admire in people.

Yeah, same here. But I think the culture of Japan just.. doesn't really mind smoking as much as it should, imo. I think they need to try to make people kick the habit. A lot of people probably have health problems that shouldn't just becuase they've been smoking since they were a teenager..

Isn't it a picture of one of her old photobooks. I forgot that name... something with K... Kermisal....or so0mething like that... I'm sure, you know, what I'm thinking about.
And.. I saw that picture really often, and it always say, it is Ayu.
I think, she looked like in Idol on Stage.
Ok.. maybee, that shot is not very good taken... so she looked a little bit different.

The fact ayu is healthy is not a proof she doesn't smoke. We all know most of the diseases caused by smoking are chronic, after the person has smoked for over 30 year +. Many smokers manage to keep "healthy" and have a healthy appearance for years even if they smoke a lot, and maybe that's one of the reasons they won't think about quitting, because they won't be really be bothered about the consequences since they only appear late.
Some singers smoke and manage to keep their vocals fine. Again, not a proof.

There's no real proof whether she smokes or not. None of the speculations are solid enough. The pictures available are all blurry and unclear. The most reliable fact I'd mention is that most likely ayu isn't a heavy smoker (if she's a smoker). If she smoked heavily, we'd have already seem much more evidences than just those questionable ones.

I think half of us need to grow up and realize that she's human too and can do whatever the hell she pleases :)

Bad Wolf 8th January 2008 12:36 AM

^ .. And that people can have varying opinions about her decisions as an adult. :)

because as someone said before. if you think about it ; Ayu has been going non stop for 10 years. if she got eyes surgery before, she would need a great amount of time to recover from it. when have you heard of Ayu stopping for months and months to recover from something? it's most obviously just the eye makeup.
I really don't care if she had surgery or not (I have nothing against cosmetic surgeries and if they weren't so expensive and hadn't so many risks I would definitely correct my body too) but I just have to say that it really doesn't take months and months to recover from a surgery like that. Or if you put it in other way: it does take months to recover but not like that you have to sit home and do absolutely nothing. I've read that ppl are ready to go to work in 10 days after the surgery but most ppl still need sunglasses for example when outside because of the sun etc. (sunglasses, hmm.. That's an easy disguise :innocent).

And as well as small eyes can be made big with makeup can makeup also make those scars disappear..

As I said I don't really care if she had surgery or not all I say is that she looks way different and makeup can do wonders but how big wonders? I'm not sure. :rolleyes

Hi! Being new here, I guess I will put in my 2 cents. I had downloaded a vid of her singing in 1995. She was young, and her eyes looked very similar. BTW, that pix on the left in the 1st mv (52s) def did not look like her, esp knowing I had that video.
With her hearing gone in her left ear, she might consider quitting smoking anyway(even thou they aren't related.
