Hmm, I'm not sure. I'm willing to bet that all of these pictures were taken in Tokyo. That kind of promotion is standard fare for Tokyo--in fact, I never saw billboards like that anywhere else in Japan other than Tokyo. Now, if such billboards were in other parts of Japan, I would say it was massive promotion.

I was about to say the same thing.

Not that I ever went to Japan or anything, but it seems to me when it comes to Tokyo it's always like that. After all, there's like 30 million people there - if you want to sell millions, it's basically enough if just a fraction of people only from Tokyo buys your stuff and you can skip the rest of the country.
It's a shame though that they don't do that kind of heavy promotion in other large areas - it could be a sagnificant sales boost if she was promoted in other cities at least half as much as she always is in Tokyo...

didn't a best 2 or whatever was it, also get such promotion o-o? hope it'll help the sales.

I'm hoping the people don't get too sick of the promoting and even if they were, they'd be like: "OMG WE SHOULD BUY EVERY ALBUM, so that we can get Japan back to normal"

Although I wouldn't mind it if Japan stayed plastered with Ayu=D its like a dream

I again refer to NTV report
when they mentioned 'the big promo' for A BEST they actually said why it was big
it didn't consist of booths, posters etc only
there were also many mags included, many interviews taken, many radio and TV appearances and many many CMs and that stuff
the report really showed the video of it and it was quite hideos because Hamasaki-san was just everywhere...

better promotions, better sales hopefully...

I hope it's going to boost the sales but when you look at it are there too many posters? Looks like there is one at every corner
maybe they should have done more mags, TV cms etc.?
it's great publicity but maybe they should have concentrate on CMS too
