*just thought id share lol*

Set_0ne 2nd July 2003 06:55 PM

*Laughs* Oh boy..the RIAA are really on your mind, huh?!

samuraiDRIVE 2nd July 2003 07:31 PM

The thing is, CD pressing companies are putting software on their CDs so you CAN'T copy them to your computer.

If you can't rip your cd's to mp3 format anymore, and it's illegal to download them, then what's the point of having an MP3 player?

sxesven 2nd July 2003 07:36 PM

Yeah that's definitely stupid, but can't you just put audio straight from CD to MP3 player? That's how my MD works :shrug

bulmasman 2nd July 2003 07:38 PM

The RIAA can't honestly expect to track down every single person in the world who download's MP3's.

I haven't downloaded an english MP3 for at least 2 months now, all my stuff is Japanese. Now, if Japanese cd's were available in the UK, i'd purchase them, but there's no way i'm gonna spend upwards of £40 to buy a cd i may not even like.
I've downloaded 2 full english albums, which were Pink and Shakira's albums and, ooh look, i seem to have BOUGHT them since then.

Come on, if you expect us to pay for your 'music', make sure it actually is music!

In response to earlier posts, Rap is bad in my opinion. I mean real bad. Why do they seem to think that the only thing people want to hear is *******, b**** etc... Or are these the only word's in a rappers vocabulary?

sxesven 2nd July 2003 07:44 PM

Buuh that's something that lots of ppl think about rap and sadly it's the image that rap has nowadays. Just a lot of swearing and hoes and dough. I hate that crap, but there's good rap/hiphop too.

I LOVE Aesop Rock, The Pharcyde, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Cannibal Ox and many more. And these ppl are poets, not some st00pid ppl that can only rhyme b**** and itch.

'All I ever wanted was to pick apart day
Put the pieces back together my way'

- Aesop Rock

'So much on my mind that I can't recline
Blastin holes in the night til she bled sunshine'

- Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Common

'Life's not a b****, life is a beautiful woman; you only call her a b**** cuz she won't let you get that ***sy. Maybe she didn't feel ya, y'all didn't have any similar interest, or maybe you're just an *ssh*le who couldn't sweettalk the princess.'

Pure poetry!

There's good lyrics and good music in the hiphop, ppl are just too ignorant so it will remain underground. :rolleyes

And if you're offended by the use of swear words, well, swearing is a part of life. And it's emotion.

yeah. maybe it is my fault. i gotta admit, responsibility is not my strongest suit.

and sxesven: mos def, talib, common are great! Talib's latest single is such a good song.

and Boku youre having dreams about RIAA? maybe you should stop thinking about it. itll only get worse.

Exactly!!! Hiphop can be good ppl! Nice to see a person with good taste :P just a j/k of course, I know you all love Ayu! :D

samuraiDRIVE 3rd July 2003 03:49 AM

Alright, I don't like hearing this.

Leaving a CD for a friend is one thing. If they burn the CD, it is NOT your fault. If you tell them not to, they can anyway. How is that in ANY way YOUR fault.

Set_0ne 3rd July 2003 08:23 AM

Because you are the owner of the CD..thats it plain and simple.

sxesven 3rd July 2003 12:21 PM

Yup, Jurassic 5 too! That's all just real hiphop, and that's what I love!

And Cient: not really your fault. :)

samuraiDRIVE 3rd July 2003 05:10 PM

You're saying that someone borrowing your stuff, and then turning around and letting someone else use it is YOUR fault.

You're saying that if someone gets shot, the shop owner who sold the shooter the gun is at fault.

You're saying that if a car gets stolen, the person who sold the victim the car is at fault.

I don't think I need to go on.

Hm...... let's see what will happen to Samurai Hamasaki, shall we?

Samurai Hamasaki is busy working at his office when a DHL delivery man shows up at his cubicle.

"Mr. Samurai Hamasaki?" asked the guy promply.

Samurai turns to his back on his rotatable chair slowly, and had a good look at the guy, after a second he answered, "Yup, that's me..."

Without any delay the delivery man passed the receipt form for him to sign as to confirm his acceptance of the envelope. Samurai signed the envelope and the man leaves his cubicle after saying, "Have a nice day."

While Samurai was pondering on who might send this envelope to him, he swiftly tears open the side of the envelope and a Nokia 6610 mobile phone slides out of it, landing steadily on his right palm.

Still puzzled, the phone rang. Samurai shaken for a little but eventually he answered the phone.

"He.. Hello?"

"Hello, Neo, do you know who is this?" a low voice with dignity on on the line.

"I...Isaac?"

"Yes.... unfortunately I can't talk to you much longer."

"Why?"

"They are coming for you, Samurai."

"Who's after me?"

"Look over from your cubicle.... slowly..."

With a careful stance, Samurai did what the mysterious voice had told him. He peered through the edges of his cubicleand found himself looking at a group of polices, headed by 3 nicely-suited men who wore sunglasses. When one of the men stared at his direction, Samurai quickly dives back down to his seat.

"What are they going to do to me?"

"I don't know but I suggest you better get out of there."

"Damn.... I don't like this....."

"I can guide you but you must do exactly what I tell you to do."

"O... OK...."

The mysterious voice told exactly what Samurai had to do, but in the last step heading towards to the top floor, he got stuck on the side of the window and get caught by the agents.

Inside the FBI interrogation room, Samurai was confronted by 3 men who previously shown up at his office.

A man, with a cold expression, sat down opposite of Samurai and slams a thick pile of records on the table. He begin to unfasten the ropes that has surrounded the records and browse through them slowly. Finally he began, "Mr. Hamasaki.... you have been leading a peaceful yet chaotic life. You are now a computer engineer working for a leading software company, you paid all of your bills right on time and hardly ever offended and law, and..."
He paused for a while before continuing, "You clear your landlady's trash can every night."

"On the other side," he continues, "You live off as an Ayumi fan known as Neo who deliberately rips all CCCDs using illiegal means, causing billions of dollars of loss of several major music companies."

"Recently an individual known as Isaac has established a direct contact with you. I don't know what do you think of him but this man is a highly dangerous terrorist."

"If you can co-operate with us, we can write off your previous records and you can get a fresh start." He finished by pushing aside of Samurai's huge pile of records.

"Wow, sounds like a great deal..." Samurai moved his body a bit, "but I got a better idea."

"How about... I give you a finger, and you let me make a phone call?" He shot up his middle finger with his right hand, a typical obscene handsign.

"Mr. Hamasaki.... that would be a pity if...."

"Stop giving me all of these crap." He retorted, "I want my phone call." He stressed.

"Mr. Hamasaki," The man seemed unaffected, ''What is the use of having a phonecall if you lose the ablity.... to... speak?" He deliberately slowed down the pace.

Instantly Samurai's mouth was as if being sewn, in panic, he tries to escape but was pinned down on the table by the other agents.

"Mr. Hamasaki," The agent said while took out a piece of old electric plug fromhis pocket, "You are going to help us no matter you like it or not." The plug transforms into an ugly srawl and dives right into the stomach of Samurai....

You obviously don't get what I'm saying. You can't pass the blame along until you run into a dead end. The person that did it is the person that's at fault. The person that commited the "crime" is the one that should get charged.

Set_0ne 4th July 2003 08:59 PM

No, I see what you are saying!! I'm wanting to drop this topic but why bring it up again? Can't you just understand..I'm only repeating what I have LEARNT!!

It's not like I follow the rule or I'm forcing that rule on anyone..No-way...Just saying what I think.
