OK my biggest recent complaint... what the heck was the Mirrorcle World video? She looked stunning but it was not very well directed. It was awkward in parts, boring in others and really tacky and overacted overall. It had the makings for an epic PV (Paris, gorgeous clothes, great song) but it did not turn out how I was hoping.

Ayumi_lover 26th June 2008 06:12 AM

her dvd prices))))))))))))) all other are acceptable for me))

To Ani C: What's her closest song with that style? So I can get a visual...

It was the result of a novice photographer-turned-director. Sad that she made her 10th anniversary single a guinea pig for his first piece. [He's the guy that shot A BEST 2 and t2m]

I think that's pretty much everyone's reaction to the PV.

My friends who don't like Ayu, but love Mirrorcle World, saw the PV and were very disappointed for a song so 'epic'.

ArchangelLegend 26th June 2008 06:34 AM

I wish Ayu's voice was a little deeper, that's all.

:no :no :no :no :no

BLUE BIRD is okay (annoying too) but that's not the best in her discography.
It's between ourselves, Step you, Daybreak (hal's mix), M, and Startin' that's the best in her discography. :bchuck

:lmfao @ recycled.

Ayumi just has hit a rough spot in her music career. It's like she doesn't know what to do next to keep her fans pleased. =/ One of my friends said she needs to compose songs again. I couldn't agree with him more tho. It seems her best was brought outta her with she was Crea. =/

:laugh @ fake metal guitar.

I still do get why people didn't accept her (M)U style. That IMO, killed her album sales. =/ (M)U is like the best album in her discography. I thought it deserved to sell more than UB IMO. I just think Ayu best Hikki in the experimental department with (M)U. I'm not saying UB was a bad album but I enjoyed (M)U a little more than UB. :bchuck *did use to think opposite tho*:tipsy

Aren't there like Hong Kong/Taiwan/Korean version of her DVDs at a cheaper price? :O I just don't get why people spent tons more on the Japanese version when there is like a Taiwan version at a cheaper price. *blinks*

Quality of Japanese releases >>>>>>>>>>>>> Overseas releases.

Just the plastic and paper is different, the data on the disc is still the same.

luna7996 26th June 2008 08:11 AM

Of all her album my absolute favorite is I am... and is because not only did she write the lyrics she composed most of the songs as well.It gave the album a whole new feeling that all her other albums don't have.If she did something like that again I would die happy.lol.But overall I am super happy that she is still going strong after 10 years and so much drama in her personal life.Anybody else would have retired by now.GO AYU!!!!

I think that I don't like Ayu about is that she never release her products like albums, singles, and the DVD worldwide.

Actually, she's really famous around the world and Asia of course.
The proof of this is the forum or any Ayu-releated forum itself!

And the price of DVD LIVEs, which kills my wallet a-lot!

It's funny since a lot of people who likes ayu's music (if not most) also like kumi's music :shrug
I don't get the point of bringing her here as well =\

But for the most part that doesn't work the other way around. :thud

I think that sometimes she could tone down the materialism. But it's not nearly as bad as it could be. If you got it, flaunt it, eh? *dead*

I don't like her current hair, which has the potential to be (miss)understood-like amazing, but just isn't. It's this weird thing that makes her look like she's one of those people who are 42, but wish to be 24 or something.

I don't like her deep voice when she speaks sometimes. It's too raspy and I hate raspy voices. I'm not saying she's supposed to squeak out her words, but.. yeah.

I don't want Ayumi to become one of those touring artists that make $348,382,247 with their tours, but then sell 50,000 copies of their new CD. I think she might heading in that direction.

And here we go,
I do not like the general sound that her recent releases have. Mirrorcle World borders on amazing, but isn't quite like that due to it's trait which most songs on GUILTY have, which is the guitars being so loud and just plain noisy. It wasn't like this in the past... even on (miss)understood, the songs had plenty of nuances that you'd discover with only repeated listens. Now it's kind of, very one-dimensional. I wouldn't want to place the blame on Ayumi's medical condition, but it's kinda like she can't hear the nuances so there aren't any for the listeners.

And uh, sure, I could stay irrational stuff, like, AYUMI MAKE ANOTHER SURREAL, AYUMI PLEASE GO BACK TO LOVEPPEARS STYLE etc, but I won't, since everything she's done in the past is done and I think that there's little use in trying to recreate what you've done earlier on since it's almost never as good as what you're trying to recreate. Plus, Ayumi seems to love this rockier style, so yeah.

Despite that..
I love 浜崎あゆみ.

I think she should really just go back to a pinstraight-style. This wavy-blondeish thing is just too... meh. Like, we've seen it before and it didn't look that good the first time, so why do it again? Memorial address-era hair please.

I remember when we used to see Ayu on TV like every day.. :[ :[~

Exactly. She doesn't switch up her styles as much as she used to, instead it seems like her music has become even more predictable than ever.

I'm also not a fan of her creativity in album themes/cover art as I used to be.

I don't really like her release schedule, she seems to go for quantity more than quality in the past year or two.

Okay, so I read through the thread and want to quote and reply to some posts.

I don't really think Ayumi thought about the idea of being in an animal print suit for the cover of her album.. It was her duty to be in that suit.

While GUILTY from Ayu, who started in 1998, was her 9th album O________O

That's just a thing about the Japanese music industry. You have to keep pumping out releases in order to be remembered, for most of the time. I agree that it is scary, but at least we've got so much great music from Ayumi, rather than 4 albums or 5, if lucky.

They lacked the oomph that Ayu releases usually have. [couldn't they have taken more shots?]~

Maybe she just doesn't care about that so much anymore. She's made her name and she has sellout concerts. Maybe her priorities regarding her career have changed?

Ayu it's selfish XDDD

I think that she's just an individualist since her lyrics and her songs are so close to her. She can't really share that with anyone else.

LOL WTH.. REALLY?! O_O Those are cool pictures.. they're just cool as pictures and not really as meaningful covers. They're kinda like shots from whatever that make-up magazine is. [SCawaii? bea's UP] They're so ordinary and Ayumi chose THAT dude to shoot a music video?! OMG, I have no idea what was going through the management's head at that moment.

I want Ayumi to have that influence she felt she had when she had to change the cover for I am... [this is getting a little sappy and nostalgic.]

I don't want to sound like a know-it-all in any way, but maybe since you've been lurking since early 2007, you haven't heard that JEWEL was in fact going to be released as a single in autumn 06. I remember it was going to be titled 1LOVE / JEWEL. [no space between 1 and LOVE] People had lots of ideas on how much it would've sold if it wouldn't have been for an eye infection Ayumi got. If you already know about this, then I apologize.
1LOVE/JEWEL was simply a rumor that a blogger had after the CMs showed for the two Panasonic products they represented and Ayu performed on MUSIC STATION. :\ I don't think anyone ever knew what was going to happen with it though..
