Ayu's been updating today's photos during her absent days in the states...she couldn't possibly get her nose done.

Well, comparing her early swim suit/bikini photos with pics done later as a singer, I do believe she has something done.
But I also believe she hasn't plastic surgery since the beginning of her singer career, just a lot of make up and photoshop.
Nevertheless I would be very happy if her beauty is indeed natural.^^
Even if it's kind of unfair then, to be so pretty. XD

Overall I agree with ayumixfan.
It doesn't really matter if or if not, her music and her personality is the most important thing.

If she did, then damn she healed fast.
Even when she was staying in Hawaii, we still had the TA pics, and we have mag shoots from there as well, so..I think not.

good point...she posted her everday activites photos...so there is no way she done something with her nose...

can surgery even heal that quickly?

Nobody can assume that she has or has not had plastic surgery before because she's never said it herself and we sure as hell are not her doctor nor do we have access to her medical records.

I will say though... Please explain how she was able to afford plastic surgery before stardom, and please explain how, if she did go under during her debut, she recovered so quickly? Plastic surgery takes at a minimum 6 weeks to heal depending on the procedure. Have we ever seen pictures of Ayu with bandages or bruises on her face from surgery?

My take, she hasn't had time to recover from plastic surgery from her debut until now. Before then I really doubt she even had the money to afford surgery and I doubt her mother would even let her at such a young age. :shrug

Faces change as people grow older. I have not seen a significant difference (something a surgery would do) from looking at her old swim suit modeling pictures and looking at her now without any makeup.

if Ayu did have surgery she probably did it when Max Matsuura sent her to New York for vocal lessons and also offered her a "make over" while she's there.

i don't believe she has done plastic surgery before because from what i've seen..her pic without make up looks exactly the same with the young Ayu~ :)

I believe that over time she's had some nips and tucks. She's been smart about it and doing subtle things rather than drastic changes (excluding her teeth).

From what I've read regarind nose jobs is that you wear the brace and bandage for a week and the thing that lasts the longest is the swelling. Bruising occurs but like most will fade away with ease. If she only had the tip of her nose done it wouldn't have been anything with the bone and I doubt bruising would be drastic if it were just the tip.

The fact of the matter is is that Ayumi Hamasaki is in the entertainment industry which is based on looks. Her main act IS her look. She's visual. I really don't think she would, or has, ruled out plastic surgery. I also don't think she looks at it like the devil a lot of people posting here do.

It seems very different....but i had nose surgery and i swear it take almost a month before you don't see no more scars and blood signs...my face was huge during that period...

If she had it done in LA then she healed extremely fast. Also you say you can see it in the Sparkle video which was done a couple of weeks before she left for LA.

Surgery on the nose can be done with a shot. No surgery needed. So it's possible, sure.
Doesn't looks like it though. Make-up, lights and photoshopping can be pretty mis-leading, you know?

In the recent ViVi-photospread, I thought to myself---This isn't Ayu. This is somebody else. I seriously had to look hard to find SOMETHING that let me know it was Ayumi in those pictures and not a stand in. Even now, the only one's that look like Ayu to me are the ones when she's standing with the snow cone. Other than that, I completely didn't recognize her.

As far as her nose in the PV for NEXT LEVEL, Ayu looks very much like herself. I think the shorter-length of hair is what's drawing more attention to her nose than usual. If we could get a side picture of her from that PV though and compare it with a side shot of her nose in the PV for RAINBOW, we could tell a little better.

I suggest using RAINBOW because I remember watching the tissue-finger scene (you know, the one where she's wearing all white and the background's blue...)...Anyway, I remember when she turned to the side a little bit I said to myself that Ayu has a hook nose...It was weird to me at the time because I'd never known a Japanese person to have a hook nose like that. Meh...but that was a LONG time ago.
