I couldn't stand Namie's old albums, and then, somehow, I really liked SWEET 19 BLUES and I still adore it! I prefer it even more than Break The Rules. :yes

I've lost interest in J-pop a couple of times. I first got into in 2004 I think when they were airing InuYasha, it was around the time they played Dearest and Every Heart -Minna no Kimochi-. I didn't know any other artist nor any other songs expect those and Come. Basically I was on the InuYasha songs only bandwagon.

Then I got bored of those songs and never listen to J-pop again, until I deiced to listen to Utada's Sanctuary and the link I clicked on was the Japanese version with the PV. I was like this is nice and then I search for more of her songs and I found Flavor Of Life and then I was done with J-pop once again.

Then I found Yuna Ito in 2008, while search for Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On. I clicked on it and when I heard it I was just wowed. Her voice was amazing. Then I looked her up and found Stuck on you, losin', ENDLESS STORY and Precious. Then that led to the rediscovery of BoA then that led to Utada then NEWS (because of Prisoner of Love), then (Prisoner of Love) led me back to Ayumi and I've just been listening to J-pop non stop since.

I'm starting to get a little tired now... I haven't found a song made in 2009 by any asian artist that makes me an addict lol! And then I'm gettting turned off by korean bands like big bang and snsd, because the igornant comments they make to the public. I was so mad at them, that I deleted all their songs. I think they have a nerve to make racist comments and then try to sell their music to the U.S!

Seriously no!!! I never lost interest for Jpop!

Here at AHS, it's like we've barely even seen the tip of the iceberg as to what's popular here.

There are so many great and under appreciated artists in Japan, just like in all industries I guess.

It's a little hard to become "tired" of something...I think most of us are tired of the Japanese mainstream.

YES. I have lost a huge interest in Jpop recently.

Ayumi is probably the only Jpop singer that I actually care to check updates for...it's quite sad, but I just don't find Jpop as interesting as it once was. It seems to me that so many artists are putting out the same, generic sound. And, I don't know, there aren't that many interesting jpop artists out there anymore...lol...

Recently, I've been more interest in JROCK, Visual Kei rock or however you call it. I find it way more interesting and refreshing than Jpop. Of course most jrock band sounds similar to one another, but heck, I like their music... so it all works out. And beside, Jrockers are so HOT...and that is a bonus point =3

J pop is such a huge part of my life. the most music i have in my computer is mostly Japanese music. my American music and other music altogether doesn't even add up...

but some Jpop i seriously can't stand. they're either corny, childish, cheesy, and/or the singers cannot sing... and many Jpop singers CANNOT sing at all. especially the boy and girl bands.

I've lost interest in some artists like hitomi, LISA, Hitomi Shimatani, Rain and some other that I never liked pretty much. BUT my top5 all time favorite artists are always with me! :D Also Music and 90% of it is Japanese music is a part of my life. I can't live without it. I'd die without music.

i'm pretty much losing interest in not only jpop but kpop and american music as well. i think i need to get back into the european scene...anyway the main people in jpop that i'm losing/lost interest in are

Ayu - I liked NEXT LEVEL better than GUILTY but I've listened to the entire album only like three times. she just doesn't strike me the way she used to idk. the magic is gone :weep

Kuu - everything after her scandal has been a disaster. i liked around four songs on TRICK but i deleted the album and i like to pretend the its all love single does not exist :yes

H!P - ugh i could write a 10 page essay on this but w/e all the girls i like are gone so i'll just leave it at that :eviltongu

Tommy heavenly6 - i used to love their stuff so much. but ever since i got a new computer i haven't even bothered to download one thing by them :shrug

Ai Otsuka - same thing as Tommy except i will probably download her best album again.

GReeeeN - i loved their 2nd album but after that just completely lost interest.

I've already lost interest in J-pop. Namie Amuro's WILD really put me off I was so disappointed. Ayumi's Sparkle was pretty good. The last song I heard by Koda Kumi was "That ain't cool" ft. Fergie.

I was so focused on the big stars it was hard to discover new artists. I never paid attention to ayaka and leah dizon or whoever. Now, I'm listening to American music which I would say was sex hyped, repeatitive, with lack lust lyrics but that I'm somehow begining to enjoy them. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Beyonce, P!nk, Rihanna etc. I miss the 04-05 JPOP era *Tear* I get that nostalgic feeling thinking about the music from that time. I'd love to get back with jpop but I just haven't heard that song that'll sparked my interest. :no :(

I lost interest not long after i became a fan, but then i got it back and thing's really haven't changed for me since. The Japanese music scene is so damn versatile (or was, as is the case). I suppose you could say that i've lost some interest, since apart from Ayaka, i haven't really liked anyone new in a long long time. I suppose you could say modern Jpop is becoming considerably less... J lol.

However, what with discovering old artists from the 70/80's and more recent artists i just somehow overlooked, i don't think i'll ever truly lose interest in Jpop... for a start it's pretty much all i know lol.

As for comparing Jpop and Kpop... i think Jpop blows it completely out of the water. Too much Korean stuff is boring to me, really really boring. I also, personally, don't think Kpop stars can measure up to those of Japan vocal-wise etc... That's not to say I don't like Korean music, Cherry Filter, Biuret, MC Mong... there's some really excellent stuff there if you dig a little.

And just to tag this on the end, I though NEXT LEVEL is one of ayumi's best albums in a LONG time and i really do love it.

Yeah, I have. I think I'm still going through it right now. With the exception of artists I will always follow (Ayu, Ai Otsuka, and probably Miyavi), I don't really keep up with what's hot in J-pop like I used to. Man, I used to know what was coming out which week, even if I didn't like the artist. How times have changed...
