My UNIVERSE album review...after listening to the album a few times.

Step Into My World- This sounds too much like intro to trick except not as good.
Can We Go Back- I like the music and arrangement but not with her singing it. I still strongly think she doesn't suit singing 'rock' songs.
SUPERSTAR- oh god...I seriously don't like it...x_X
You're So Beautiful- This song is one of the better tracks on this album. I really like the violins.
Lick me- do not like! x_X
Work It Out!- this song really had potential to be really great. Some how it feels like its missing something.
No Way- don't care about this track
Stay- this is like taisetsu na kimi he #2...not bad since I like taisetsu but of course that song is better than this.
Comes Up- don't care about this track
Physical thing- never liked this song
ECSTASY- my fav song on this album.
UNIVERSE- its great she did this song...this is the kind of song she does best. The sound effect thing reminds me of that one song from missy elliot.
It's all Love!- just like can we go back...like the music and arrangment but not the singing.
Alive- this is too boring and her vocals don't fit this type of song.
Moon crying Live in Taiwan- original studio version is so much better!

The first day sales is a little lower than I expected...considering the fact that its 2 albums in 1... with some of her most popular songs on the best album. The price is a good deal too. I wonder if ppl are turned off by the fact that its another best from her.

Is it just me or is Avex trying to boost Koda's sales by attaching a best album to UNIVERSE since it's not possible to buy UNIVERSE alone? Perhaps hoping that calling it BEST would lead to high(er) sales?

Yep that's exactly what they're doing, since BEST albums usually sell better than studio albums.
Doesn't seem to be working this time though, but maybe tomorrow :)

By the way, how does Oricon work in this way? Cause it's 2 albums really, BEST and UNIVERSE.
For example in America, The Fame got seperated from The Fame Monster, but Monster sales only counted when people bought Monster 1CD.. For the 2CD Fame + Monster version, all sales went to The Fame..

So.. how does this work? Do they just consider all 3 versions as 1 album "BEST ~Third Universe~ & UNIVERSE" ?

Yeah the 3 versions (and well the FC one too/shindax version) are counted to BEST ~third universe~ which is both albums (BEST ~third universe~=BEST ~third universe~ + UNIVERSE) since they are being sold in the same packages. You can't buy each CD (the best OR the studio) individually. So the sales oricon put are the total of the whole project that has universe or BEST third universe in it.
