I remember saying to myself and to my friend a while ago that she never does covers. she's only ever done two (in her official discography) which were teens and sotsugyo shashin. the first of which was never officially released on an ayu album, or even on a single (just the "acoustic version" was released), and the second being only ever seen on a compilation album.

well, I think that the least thing a graphic designer wants is that his works look fanmade, this covers just scream cheap and rushed to me...
The text is all messed up and it doesn't the covers to look cohesive at all. I'd rather have a very simple text than this ((I know this name is really taboo but: )Koda Kumi TABOO's covers for example, are similar to this in it's basic form, and the text is only there to inform of the single name, here they tried to give the text some personality but they failed hard)

Also... the theme is the farthest they could do to a song like crossroad, if you go to a book store to buy a crime novel and they give you carrots and potatoes in the cover... well, it would be strange.

I'm agreeing with you. the taboo cover is a perfect example of how good posing, outfits, and text can be a very good cover when all it is, is standing in front of a white background. when I saw these covers, this is the first thing I thought of. *gag* which also does prove that you can't win every time by standing in front of a white background. sometimes it works. :/

Either way, glad I bought atleast one version because I'm in love with crossroad. I also was lucky, and the version I pre-ordered before covers is the one I dislike the least, yay!

no hun, i dont mean to force anything. i was just saying many people treat boring as always a bad quality when they dont like a cover but when they do like a cover the same creative level "boring" i suppose it means boring isnt actually so bad. and not every "boring" cover is bad like some people here imply. :) is all. i usually only state things and express my observations. not trying to convert anyone to a point or side. or to like these. just some observing that doesnt have to do with making someone like a cover. thats different.

The original TV-aired version of "Endless sorrow" didn't include Ayu at all, except the posters. The addition of Ayu at the end (for "A clips vol. 2") in my opinion ruined the entire mood of the video. I didn't buy it anymore.... Ayu was supposed to sorta be the remnant of a lost era in that PV's universe. Her showing up at the end made no sense.

I'm totally happy with another PV without ayu... hopefully they don't ruin it by adding her as an afterthought later.
