I easily prefer Jumping (it was just TOO good..in Japanese), but STEP is really good. The video is incredible and the song is very catchy. I'm glad there was a lot of focus on Hara, since she's my favorite. The rap part was amazing too. Glad to see Nicole for once do a rap that isn't totally corny :laugh

Isn't KARA considered a big act too now :rolleyes? The song is good, the girls have improved their singing (minus Hara, there was one MR removed performance where she really sucked), they have some kind of following now too so I'm curious wether they would stand their ground even against other big acts. While I'm happy that they win, it feels like they've only won bc there was no real competition (Davichi doesn't have the typical idol following and has to rely on digital sales for a award win).

REALLY hoping it won't be a ballad. KARA just doesn't make ballads very good or interesting. They're much better with upbeat songs. Whisper sounds like it could be really cool, but it's only a b-side so I have no idea what to expect. I'm hoping we'll get Japanese versions of STEP, Rider, and 따라와 on the next Japanese album and that the rest is new/the singles.

I think it will be a cute and upbeat song (like Jet Coaster Love and GOGO SUMMER!). And the b-side probably is a ballad

I was so excited at the thought of a Japanese STEP too :'( So we get a bunch of b-sides and barely any new songs and then they tack on three old songs, two on the first album and a third that's unchanged from the Korean one? I love Honey too! it's one of my faves. my top favorite songs from them are STEP, Mister, Honey, Jumping (Japanese Version), Go Go summer, Burn, Umbrella (Korean version), Magic, We're With You, Sweet Days, Strawberry, Date (My boy), Rock U, and Let It Go. i love love love their cute songs and would take them over Lupin any day!

Honey's actually my favorite KARA song too, by far actually. After that I'd say it's probably Jumpin', Mr., Rock U, and STEP.

I think that Jumping is my favourite. Tbh, I rarely listen to the original versions of the songs but rather listen to remixes. I more or less like most of their material since Lupin, so I guess there's no specific order, it all depends on my mood what I enjoy the most.

Are they doing better than SNSD?? I'm not quite keeping up with how good korean artists/groups are doing in Japan.

In terms of singles yes. SNSD's Mr. Taxi/RDR single sold 172,205 this year.
In terms of albums SNSD's Japanese debut has sold 642,054 so far so a bit ahead.

Both groups are doing way better than other Korean artists that have debuted in Japan in 2010/2011 though.

Honestly i prefer SNSD, but in my opinion KARA is more popular, and the sales of their 2nd album are increasing a lot

KARA's performances at "LAWSON presents MUSIC FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE":

I think the fact that Kara has changed the type of music they release in Japan compared to Korea will be extremely beneficial to them in the long run.

Other groups release either A) Japanese versions of Korean songs, or B) very similar music to what they would release in Korea.

But the reason both A and B are able to do well now is because of the popularity of everything "Korean."

Kara, however, have incorporated a lot of Japanese themes into their releases. Specifically GO GO Summer for it's throwback to 1990's Eurobeat and summer theme, and Winter Love for the pop-ballad aspect and winter theme. They also seem to be moving away from a sexier image to a cute image. In Japan, cute will forever trump sexy. :P

I believe they will be one of the groups that have the longest amount of success.

But that's just how I feel. :)

I think I have to agree with you, Kara is doing amazingly in Japan but I think it's because their music suits the Japanese, and so does their image, it's a very Japanese look as opposed to korean ish which I think will fade eventually but kara wont X) I didn't like kara until i started listening to their Japanese music, happens with every kpop group i didnt like, I didnt like SNSD until i heard their first japanese album, even now they irk me sometimes but i like their japanese stuff :3

I hope it's true as well but I'm a bit doubtful that they would remake a song in Japanese solely for a bonus track, especially since it's not something they've done before (they've never released a double A-side single either so who knows, lol). Considering that the song seems to be quite popular in Japan (their "STEP IT UP" DVD seems to be doing well on Oricon from when I last checked), I do believe that we'll get a Japanese version (if not as a title track but a b-side moreso than just a bonus). I guess we'll have to wait and see though.

If Step was popular in Japan I thought they'll make it as the single's title track to get moar money but well.. :laugh
